Playformance is the BEST community space for kids and adults alike! The owners Kevin and Anna are delightful people that make each of their events so much fun and bring so much joy to Tucson. We have participated in many of their adult play nights and now they have a morning weekly group for adults.. so cool! Each of their sessions offers cooperative and low-pressure games for a wide range of abilities. It's so fun connecting with others in the community. I've also had the pleasure of hosting team building events here and their staff is amazing at facilitating activities that meet the needs of the group. This space is so appreciated! My wife and I went to Playformance for their monthly grownups date night. It was a fun time to relax and engage in different fun games with other couples. It was $50 a couple and all proceeds went to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which we loved supporting! We played fun mirroring and listening games with your date. It was nice to not have a screen and focus on listening and being present while having fun. We also played some group games that involved moderate activity and competition. There was also some free time to explore the facility and the various things to climb, slide, jump on/ off and of course Gaga ball. This is such a wonderful place to take your kids for activities and classes. My 2 year old and I have attended several of the Fundamentals classes, my son loves the activities and all of the coaches. It was difficult for me to find a place where my toddler could safely socialize with kids his age, this place is the answer. The establishment is clean and feels very safe, the outside doors are locked during the classes. The staff are all wonderful and engage with your kids, they seem well educated on early learning and have SO MUCH patience. Playformace combines play and personal growth wonderfully. All of their activities are engaging for kids of many ages. Kids are separated into age-appropriate books and are engaged through movement, song, community building, and reflection. They've accommodated the place with equipment that allows the kids to crawl, climb, slide, and hang safely. It's crazy to watch your kids hang from the sides of a wall like Spiderman! They love it! The coaches are phenomenal. They take time to get to earn each kid's name and make them feel included, so if you have a new participant. Don't worry. The coaches will make sure they love it. Parents are asked to stay outside so that coaches can fully engage with the kids, but you can always watch from their large windows (or you can go next door and enjoy some delicious tacos while you wait). Parents were invited to come in during the last class of the season and... oh man... it's so much fun (and I was sweating after 15 minutes, but the kids kept going). I have seen my sons grow so much in their physical and emotional confidence. My sons have participated in several of the programming at Playformance and they LOVE it. They're done the semester-long weekly classes, they've done Open Gym, and they've done camps. They want more Playformance! read more

Playformance combines a love of play with the knowledge and expertise of child development and the mind/body connection. Not only has my child become more physically coordinated but her confidence in making friends and approaching new challenges has received a huge boost. She makes up songs when she's learning new math concepts and has a playful, light-hearted attitude when tackling areas of difficulty. We've worked on fostering that confidence before, but it has really taken off since her ten weeks in Playformance's summer camp. We have been Playformance fans for awhile. There's no question that whether it is camps or birthday parties, this place is a TON of fun. One would be hard-pressed to find a place that has coaches that connect better with kids than Playformance. The coaches are encouraging, supportive, and engaging with all students, and they are the types of people who genuinely like kids for who they are. I mention this because not all places that have kid activities are run by people who really take the time to get to know the kids and bring out the best in each and every one of them. Owing to risks in my family regarding COVID-19, we had to scale back activities throughout 2020 and during the first few months of 2021 and pretty much stayed on Zoom during the pandemic. A friend whose family is in a similar situation noticed that Playformance decided to run outdoor parkour camps for the 12+ crowd (outside, socially distanced, and masked) in March. We decided to try this out for one of our teens, and he loved it. After every class, he came back proclaiming it "the best." In terms of skills, the coach has taught the kids how to challenge themselves and try new things. My son looks forward to every class, even the morning ones in which we have to wake up early because we live 35 minutes away from downtown. As their summer camps begin, they will be moving inside. While I hesitant because indoors involve more risks, we ultimately decided to move forward with signing up for the camps. I have a high level of confidence in Playformance to make sure that the kids are safe, and risks are minimized as much as possible. This group has certainly won over our loyalty and trust. read more

I'm not really sure why you don't hear about this place that much... I overheard someone talking about so I looked it up lol... It's a place to let your kids run around and burn off energy, they switch things up every time so it's still exciting. Does a good job catering to babies and older kids. My biggest complaint is the parents. They are so consumed with themselves they aren't paying attention to their bratty child destroying layouts and abusing other children. My kids have been knocked down, straight up hit... luckily it hasn't phased them much but no clue who the kids belongs to... But that is not the staffs fault, when they see it they do try to keep kids in line. Prices are good if you buy the pass... read more

Fun first time experience during the family play hour on the weekend. The earlier 9:30-10:30 was a little slow and quiet but the second hour was busy with plenty of kids and parents. There are "coaches" on the look out in all the rooms, free coffee, and a wonderful bright and colorful atmosphere for the kids to roam free in. Love the no shoes, no phone policy in the play area. I also saw hand sanitizer stations which is a plus with all the kiddos. The staff was friendly, there was plenty of parking, I would definitely bring my kid again. Before Covid, this kids gym was rocking the indoor parkour and other play-based offerings. During Covid, they've been taking the pandemic seriously enough that they've retooled all their offerings, focusing on small-group masked and distanced outdoor classes as well as various remote offerings--and nothing at all in their indoor space. This can't have been easy for a play space focused on climbing and swinging and jumping on equipment designed for the purpose, and I'm so impressed that they care enough about the community to make the effort. Adult gyms could learn a few things from Playformance's approach. I'll be sticking with them even/especially once the pandemic is history. They've truly gone above and beyond to support Tucson kids and families. read more

Our kids have gone to Playformance for over four years, and we absolutely love it. Our son has autism, and the Playformance coaching staff know exactly how to connect with him and include him in activities in a way that is engaging and reduces his anxiety. Our daughter has been going since kindergarten, and it is her favorite place to go when she has a day off from school. We had her birthday party there when she turned 8, and it was outstanding. We usually take our children (ages 1-6) to open gym at a gymnastics place down the road. They have a lot of fun there but my husband and I end up standing a lot and walking in circles chasing them around. He was incredibly open to my feedback and I greatly appreciated his making the effort to improve my experience and help coach his team for future success. Went to a bday party there that was fun. I tried to book for my son and the customer service was terrible. I had heard bad things about their customer service about a year ago. I didn't realie it was going to be that bad and certainly not when they charge more than anybody else in town for a kid party. I'm super disappointed and now understand why everyone else I know books elsewhere! read more

My kids did a one day camp here. We live out of state but were visiting Tucson. My 5 year old was quite anxious being dropped off but the staff was super welcoming and warm which put him at ease. Bringing your kiddos here is one of the best things that you could do for them. Playformance is more than just another kids' gym: Kevin ("Coach Kevin" as he is affectionately referred to) incorporates exercise with character building, nutrition lessons, friendship, and good old-fashioned play. Our kids have attended Playformance's after school programs and summer camps for years, and they LOVE it. My oldest two daughters don't have a sporty bone in their bodies and loathe exercise, but Kevin's gym was the exception - I never dreamed those two would ever be able to climb walls or shimmy several feet up a rope and touch a vaulted ceiling, but the encouragement they received here was highly motivational. Your child's physical development will blossom here, no matter what fitness level they are at. Some kids come here during their "off-season" to cross train and keep fit, while for others, this may be the only form of physical activity they get. All of the coaches at Playformance are wonderful - they truly care about the kids and they clearly have a blast playing with them. Kevin runs a variety of programs, including after school, Saturday Parkour, summer and other school break camps, and "parent night out" events (where you can drop you child off for a couple hours and head next door to Borderlands for a beer). He also hosts birthdays and team building parties (for both kids and adults). Kevin has an entrepreneurial spirit, so if you have an idea for some type of fitness and/or play related event, he will try to make it work. My kids can't get enough of this place! We first came for a bday party and the kids kept asking to come back. We have been to both family play and open play. My kids are rock climbers and they love watching American Ninja Warrior. They come here and get an incredible workout all while having fun and feeling like mini ninja warriors. They have so many different obstacles to do that the kids never get bored and they whine when it's time to leave. The staff is so professional and friendly and this place is top notch. read more

All three of my children (ages 10, 11 and 13) attended day camp at Playformance this summer. All three had a fantastic experience...and as any parent can tell you that getting ALL of your children to agree about anything is close to impossible. The staff were all welcoming and engaging. What a GREAT place for TEAM BUILDING! WOW! We had a group of 15 year old club volleyball players and they just had a blast at this event with Coach Kevin. Such a great ice breaker for two teams housed under the same club to get to know each other a little better. Great mix of games and just some free play craziness! I just had a party there for my 5 year old niece, it was a blast!!! The coaches provided, not only were professional, they were absolutely fantastic with all the kids that were from ages 1 to 12 years old, all of the kids were kept well entertained. There are different rooms for different age groups so everyone gets coach attention and entertainment. I would highly recommend this place for a party, whether it be for kids, or adults!!! What a gem!! We just got home from our 5 yr old son's birthday party, which we had at Playformance. Every child, and parent, had a wonderful time. You get the whole place for your party and 3 coaches to run activities with the kids. The coaches were energetic, creative, and just fun to be around! They had set up a ninja obstacle course and a star wars themed obstacle course. All the kids loved it and even the parents, including myself, got in on the fun. Another plus is that the coaches took care of everything with little help from me. This was great because I could join my kid in all the fun. They know what they are doing here! We had pizza delivered and they passed them out to the kids, same with the cake. It was also nice that they had put the party favors out for the kids because I completely forgot about them by the end of the party. All I did was pay for sign for the pizza. They even helped carry everything to and from the car. And no clean up for me! They took care of everything. It was pricier than his party last year but this was worth every penny. Especially because I actually got to play with my kid and enjoy watching him have fun with his friends. Also, we are allowed to have adult beverages here, which makes it fun for the parents too. By the end of the party, the kids were happy and well tired out. Thanks Playformance...we'll be back!!! read more
