So I've taken two classes here so far they were ballet, fundamentals, and ballet. One I did ballet when I was younger and wanted to get back into the swing of it. Definitely recommend ballet fundamentals if it's been a very, very, very long time since doing ballet. Ballet, one or ballet beginner you needed to have a really good understanding of all of the movements and have good remembrance of how those movements still in your body, which I did not have, but that is not a knock on the studio that is a knock on me, but I love this place. read more

Ok this place is a full on hidden gem in Tucson . I've driven by and would have NEVER guessed this studio houses 5 different studios ( 4, dance & 1 fitness ) . Caught my eye on the Class Pass App and I thought I'd pop in to give a class a try . Glad I did ! The class was I took was a great core / booty class ( no crazy ninja moves here ) . I was surprised by the designated lounge areas , multiple changing rooms , work spaces , locally made finds in the lobby you can purchase . They offer up some adorable plants for sale as well! Let me tell you the locally made hand cream station is DIVINE , that's the best hand cream I've ever tried in Tucson . Smells amazing . Very welcoming staff , would absolutely be back . read more

This place is so fun! I dance weekly and I'll try a different class and teacher but I always go to tap and dance cardio every-week. It's such an amazing workout and I genuinely am so happy I found this place. Everyone should check this place out and if you're looking for adult tap, it's definitely the place to grow your skills! I've taken a couple of classes here and had different experiences. I do not recommend this place to go and learn a new style of dance as a beginner. You are treated like deadweight. Teacher said, sorry we can't do what we normally do since we have to help the new people. Made us feel very unwelcome and disliked. We had some practice before going into the class, I can't even imagine going in there having zero practice. But... I really enjoyed the workout dance classes. Loud music, full of energy and fun dance moves... you just go go go nonstop. You'll definitely get your sweat on. I would go again, and recommend to anyone looking for a fun workout that doesn't feel like a work out! read more

I love Breakout. I used to go to the studio when it was on fourth ave, and their new studio is even better. I usually take the Zumba, TRX and Dance Cardio classes. Todd really keeps the energy high during his Dance Cardio classes with lots of hair flips and booty shaking. If you haven't tried a TRX class yet, this is the place to go. Brandon is a certified TRX instructor and keeps an eye on everyone to make sure their form is correct for all the exercises (not to mention he will total kick your butt!). This is my favorite place to take Zumba too. The classes usually get really full, so it's wise to show up early. This isn't your mom's Zumba class. The dances are relatively simple to pick up after a one or two classes, but they are very fast paced and there are no breaks. Cameron keeps you dancing for the entire hour. It's challenging and super fun. Breakout's class passes have a one year expiration date, which is great if you work out at a lot of different gym's like me. Also, if you follow them on Facebook they usually have sales where their class passes are almost 50% off! read more

I have regularly attended DJ Dance Cardio with Todd where the energy is contagious. You won't want to stop dancing! I recently tried Open Modern and Long and Lean and will be going back for more. When you sign up, they will add you to a listserv and send out information about new classes, schedules, and sales. I've never paid full price for classes since I started. I go to Todd's class mostly. AMAZING instructor and DJ Herm's music is outstanding. I miss the f2f so much! Doing the online classes from home helps, and I'm glad for the health of their awesome instructors that they're keeping it online for now. But this is the number 1 thing I will run back to when life is back to normal. read more

This is an excellent business that does a lot for the community, but I was a little disappointed with some of the "beginner" classes. Unfortunately, when the majority of students are kids who have been taking these classes for years, any actual beginner holds up the class; you're just expected to throw yourself at it and do your best. The reason I sign up for the classes that state "adult" and "beginner" is because I don't have the knowledge of the basic technique needed to do the moves without injuring myself. Throwing yourself at it is the best way to throw out your back... The only class I received any valuable knowledge and instruction was from Magda in the adult ballet class. If you are just looking for a fun way to exercise, I highly recommended the DJ Dance Cardio and Femme Cardio with Todd or Ariana, and TRX is awesome, too. read more

I HIGHLY recommend this fitness and dance studio. I come from a dance background and felt a little lost after many years of dancing and performing in typical competitive dance studios. I was older, not of competing age and not pursuing dance professionally BUT I still loved to dance. I definitely fell into the right hands at Breakout. I cant recommend this place enough!! I love the fact that I am dancing with other adults. Everyone is so supportive!! I have made some life long friends here, met some pretty incredible people, dancers, and choreographers. The instructors are incredible and I like the fact that there are new routines almost weekly. The first thing you'll notice about Breakout Studios is how HAPPY everyone is when they're there. Everybody seems so excited, like they're there for a party or social gathering, not a workout. And I say that as someone who loves working out--it's still unique the way people seem to be when they're here. On a more personal level, I've tried a couple of the strength-based classes, but mostly I go for the ballet basics class. Christy is so sweet and fun! Class is very similar all the time, so it's not like some other type of workout where you're going to get wildly different routines every time, but that's kind of the point. You get to build on the things you've learned in this class; it's very precise but not in a way that's dull or tedious. I don't go to the other dance classes because they're not my speed, but like I said, you can feel the joy when people arrive for that class. I definitely recommend it whether you like high energy or more lowkey (but no less a workout) classes. read more

Todd i love you! This is one of the most fun and unique places in tucson! The space is huge!!! They have so much going on here, from TRX, ZUMBA, DANCE and DJ DANCE (my personal favorite) that you will find something you will love.
