What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Dream Dance held a class event for the Yelp elites. Overall, the instructors broke down the rhumba, waltz and salsa into basic moves that were easy to learn, follow, enjoy and build off of for future moves. Anyone can learn more about making a move. This venue has its own events but also hosts various other activities, such as Sunday salsa social dancing - which is the only thing I have come for (and thought was the most fun with the best music and dancers - without having to stay up late). I don't know what the lessons are like here, but my experience in the studio itself was nicer than expected - for a shopping mall storefront studio (rather than a more popular restaurant or nightclub). read more

This place was so much fun! A couple of friends and I went to a Bachata night at this studio. I was nervous at first before walking in because I had never taken a class before. WOW! What an experience. Everyone in the class was so nice and welcoming. The class was split into beginner and intermediate and there were a good number of people in both. The environment was warm and invited people to just learn and have fun. The instructers were very nice and helpful. There were clear instructions that were taught at a fair pace. At the end of the class, there was an opportunity for open dance to try out the thigs that you just learned. This was so much fun. I got to meet some friendly people that I later ran into at another dance class. I will definitely keep coming back! read more

I realized what I was leaving, when I read all the bios on the Dream Dance website tonight. I became so humbled by knowing these things about the DD family. I am really grateful of the people I met and danced with since beginning ballroom dancing at their studio. I only started learning ballroom dancing in July of 2018, as a means for me to use my left shoulder more than usual; in January 2018 I had a total shoulder replacement performed on my left side, and I needed to work continually on my range of motion {ROM). Needless to say I fell in love with ballroom dancing. Misfortune on my pathway made me stumble a little bit over Covid pneumonia in 2021, but by Summer of 2022, I was back on the dancefloor, hauling my oxygen tank in a sling, as I struggled with prolonged symptoms of the disease. It wasn't long before my instructor, Taylor, and I were working on a showcase routine. So glad to be back to dancing, though not as much as I was; I'm just glad I am still alive. My gratitude goes out to everyone at DD for their support, as I progressed. Dream Dance is a source of so many fond memories for me from learning dance to enjoying holiday parties and potlucks with the many faces I knew at DD. I enjoyed the challenge of everything which faced me, especially learning choreography of showcase dance routines. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES ! Opportunity arose for me to return to Texas, but first I will be living in Florida a year or two. I look forward to working on my Cuban motion, since, well, I'll be mingling with those from south of Florida. I feel I will be returning to DD, perhaps, with more of a repertoire to use there. Again, my hat's off to the crew at Dream Dance; what started as physical therapy for my shoulder, has turned to a new avenue in life for me to explore. I decided to get my wife a trial pack of the classes here for Christmas in 2020. We got a dance instructor named Taylor Burghard. We both never have danced before so were nervous going into our first class. By the second class we were way more comfortable and by the third we were loving the classes so much we decided to stick with dream dance and her for two choreographed dances for our wedding the following November. She was great in coming up with moves that fitted us and made our dances truly memorable. We were so happy and didn't want to quit we kept with it even after that. We recommend this studio for the overall welcoming feel, comfort, professional grade dancing instructors, and family atmosphere. Dream Dance is an outstanding place to learn ballroom dancing whether one's goals are social or competitive. The owners run a friendly studio where the technique is strong and the dancing is fun. All of their staff members are excellent teachers. One needs neither a partner or experience to get started. Age is no limit. There are beginning group classes on Tuesday nights at 8pm and advanced classes on Mondays at 7:30pm. Adult group classes are $8. The dances rotate. There are junior technique classes on Saturday mornings ($10), which are taught by ballroom champions (plural) who are great with kids. They have Friday night parties, which start with a beginners group lesson from 8-8:30pm. Then the floor opens up for a mix of dances: waltz, foxtrot, tango, east coast swing, west coast swing, cha cha, rumba, night club two-step, and more. They have excellent starter packages for private lessons on their website. The community at the studio couldn't be lovelier than it is. Taylor is a phenomenal instructor. She was able to assess my wife's and my dancing ability, choreograph our first dance, and get us to ready and looking spectacular for our wedding. Before receiving Taylor's instruction, I had about as much grace and finesse as someone suffering a seizure. With her instruction I was transfigured into someone who might have a fighting chance at America's Got Talent. Its been weeks since the wedding and my mother is still gloating about how all her friends were just amazed and captivated with our first dance. Not only does Taylor deliver good, solid instruction, she delivers the instruction with a great sense of humor and you are therefore guaranteed to not only learn, but laugh and have fun. Had an amazing time at Dream Dance in Tucson! I was visiting a friend for the weekend, and, as luck would have it, we heard about a class specially for same sex partners. So glad we dropped in! The instructor was terrific, matching his instructions - and attention - to the needs of each student. He taught enough basics and a few patterns so that everyone could be out on the dance floor that same night. I thought it was a terrific way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Beautiful studio - clean and bright - with friendly staff who make everyone feel welcome. If you are interested in learning how to dance, or, like me, brushing up on some old moves, I highly recommend Dream Dance. I don't know if other dance studios offer instruction for LGBTQ folks or not -but they should take a cue from Dream Dance and get with it! read more

Dream Dance is one of Tucson's newest studios, but the owners go way back in the Tucson community as some of, if not the best instructors in town. I've been taking lessons from Matt and Zhenya since 2009 and they have always been professional, knowledgeable, and fun to learn from. The remaining staff is excellent as well. My husband and I just went for the first of 3 private lessons (purchased through a Groupon Special,) and I was very impressed. I love dancing, and have dragged..er rather accompanied my husband to many social dance events and lessons over the years. We've had good teachers, but it has always been a group situation, so we didn't get a lot of 1 on 1 coaching. I was afraid it would be too basic, or maybe too intense and critical. I was also afraid of a hard sell for some overpriced lesson package. Instead our instructor, Allen, was friendly, focused on what we came there for, went at the prefect speed for us, and even solved a problem that I have always had during turns. The space is very nice, there is a wonderful floor, and there is an all-around friendly, open vibe. My husband agreed to go back for another lesson, which is really a huge endorsement. read more

I started with a groupon deal and it's been a great few months now. Even with a break due to covid I look forward to each and every lesson. Everyone is very welcoming. Mandy has been a dream and so patient with an old guy like me. I had lessons in high school but not since (except a couple on a cruise ship which didn't help). Everyone has a smile and all levels are having fun. I don't want to be a competition or "dancing with the stars" type. There are students that want that. Here, all are welcome and have fun. Our dance instructor, Ken, was amazing and extremely professional. Dream Dance is a beautiful studio with a large dance floor to practice on. There is also sitting room for guests to sit and watch and the customer service was more than the 5 stars I can give them on here. My father and I bought dance classes to learn our father-daughter dance for my wedding. Ken taught us a simple dance and it came our beautifully. Everyone one of the guests complimented us on our dance and how comfortable we were together when dancing. Look no further for a dance studio! Matt, the owner of the studio, and two of his teachers, recently offered to teach about 30 of us (one man and the rest women!) to learn a few basics in waltz and swing. One of our local NIA Dance/Exercise classes is held weekly at Dream Dance and it's a lovely location. I have been a student of Zhenya's in Tucson for the last 9 years. I am an amateur competitive ballroom dancer that she has trained in that time. Taking dance lessons was not even on my radar, but my Mom gave me a gift certificate, so I thought I would try it out. I am thanking my lucky stars for that gift certificate, and especially that it was for Dream Dance. Here I am now seven years later still taking lessons and loving it even more. Taylor is a truly gifted teacher. We had taken a few ballroom lessons at different studios in the past and left feeling confused and intimidated, but not at Dream Dance. We were immediately put at ease by Taylor's warm welcome. We discovered that she is not only an expert dancer, but she's also an outstanding communicator. She listened to what we wanted to get out of our dance lessons, created a plan, and then taught us four different dances in easy-to-understand steps. Once we mastered the basics, she added in more moves. In a very short time we were actually dancing!
