When we moved here from another state, I immediately looked for a Pilates studio. The Grant Ave location is convenient, but I also went to the downtown location a few times. Both studios have organized and well-trained instructors. The music is a nice touch - very motivating! and there are a lot of classes to choose from each day. I rarely had to be on a wait list and even then, I always got in. The classes always start and end the same (at least the ones I took) which was odd to me at first, but then I started to really like it. Update ! Speakeasy Spin review ; Ok saw the cure on the playlist, huge fan so of course I booked this asap . Alright like any speakeasy , there's some things you should know before coming to your first class ... Parking - OMG This lot is tiny and very limited. There's now QR scan codes to pay for parking , DON'T PAY - use scan codes for FREE parking at front desk. Check in - You will check in around at the newly remodeled front lobby . It's gorgeous ! At the front desk you can scan code for FREE parking . It's not a quick process , so come EARLY. You will have to input a card & plate number , yada yada & of course it's not the go Tucson parking app , it's metropolis ughhh. Entrance - speakeasy spin is located through a side door adjacent to parking , look for a small sign in window . Go in and up the stairs after you check in at the front lobby . Restrooms - UGH You need a code and it's down a hall , then down another hall and it's shared with showers . Of course I walked in on someone nude and changing ! Whoops Equipment - ask what you need before spin starts it's not listed on a board or anything , halfway through I had no idea I needed a band so instructor gave me hers but it was light resistance, didn't feel much . Bikes- Hello Kaiser bikes ! Most spin studios in town use stages bikes but this studio has true Kaiser cycling bikes with universal pedals , cycle shoe clip ins on one side and sneakers will fit into the other side . Kaiser bikes are known for being tough to adjust sometimes but they're a smooth ride . DROP IN - $21 , not bad for a fuss free drop in. Overall- the class I took overall was a bit mellow to be my vibe at 7am , I do prefer a drill sergeant ready to party on a bike in the morning . However this instructor was sweet and helpful . ETA: Had a wonderful conversation with the business owner (we love a badass boss who takes feedback with grace). She's committed to responding to my feedback in really clear ways, and I'm so appreciative that she was open to my comments. Will report back as the changes are instituted, but already I am so grateful to her for her commitment to her clients. I've been a member at Fr¡day since it opened (literally purchased the founding membership before you could even sign up for classes), but I have withheld my judgement to ensure my feedback wasn't based on kinks common early on in a business. After a year, I think I can review fairly my experiences! While I think there are a lot of great things about the studio, there are also some places where there is room for some improvement. So, first, the good: The studio is well curated and very cute. There is a clear theme and vibe and it plays out well throughout. Most of the staff are incredibly welcoming and kind. There is a pretty wide diversity of instructors, so you can generally find someone whose style and music taste matches yours. I haven't really seen any physical results from the classes, but I do appreciate the mindfulness of the Pilates approach taught here. OK, now for some gentle feedback: It's very clear to me this studio had a specific clientele in mind when it was created. It definitely has an influencer vibe, and I do see a lot of attention paid to people who attend who have a social media following. Look, I get it. It's a business and influencers sell! That said, I really REALLY wish they had a no recording during class policy. There is nothing more distracting and defeating than realizing you may have been recorded while working out... who knows if I've ended up in some reel or story (or worse potentially in a viral TikTok while I'm on the struggle bus). Even if there is no possible way I'm in frame, the second I realize someone is recording in class, I am taken away from the movements and exercise. I can't focus on my form when I'm worried about being on camera. It's just awful. Hype up the studio and the experience before and after class, but leave the class recordings to private sessions or when you're at home, please. I also have a really hard time with the cancellation policy. It's strict, and I find myself missing classes because life gets in the way. Again, I get that it's a business and often necessary, but it's tough as a client. Finally, there is a very clear difference in experience and expertise amongst the teachers. There are some instructors who have an immense knowledge of Pilates and body physiology. They have no issue making corrections and insuring everyone is safe during the movements. Other instructors feel almost like they had a Pilates hobby and signed up for a quick instructor training. There aren't corrections, directions are very unclear and confusing, and it's obvious they're using guides someone else wrote. I have learned to stay away from these instructors as much as possible. I don't feel totally comfortable in these classes with my limited experience in Pilates. read more

BEST PILATES STUDIO IN TUCSON!! 10/10!! I've been going to the Friday classes for the last four months, and it's been an incredible experience. The class schedule is super flexible and fits perfectly into my busy life, so I've never had any trouble making it work. The instructors are amazing -- they're so knowledgeable, encouraging, and make each class fun. I've definitely noticed myself getting stronger, but never to the point of feeling overwhelmed, which is the perfect balance. This is the longest I've ever stuck with a workout routine, and I honestly look forward to my 6:30 AM class every week. It's become a highlight of my mornings, and I love being part of such a great community. Whether you're new to Pilates or a seasoned pro, I highly recommend Friday Pilates. Friday Pilates is a hip new studio with the BEST vibes! Immediately upon walking in, I was greeted with friendly faces and a cheerful yellow interior. My instructor's name was Giorgia and I absolutely loved her class! She was very knowledgeable about pilates and helped modify my form or technique whenever I needed assistance. Since Aug 2024, I added Friday Pilates to my weekly rotation (with other favorite studios). If I lived or worked closer to FP, I would go more often. FP has become my Friday evening treat to end each stressful work week.
