She walks around the room making sure everyone has the correct form and will gently correct you when needed, which I really appreciate because it helps prevent injuries and keeps your posture on point. If you've been thinking about trying Pilates or are looking for a new studio, definitely check out Inbalance. They have a few locations around town, and I promise, you'll be hooked.

What got me to finally go is a friend who is in the process of getting her teaching certification and I get to be one of her students. It's the perfect scenario- I get two sessions a week or 6-8 sessions a month and a reduced rate monthly rate. Membership/classes at Bodyworks are definitely on the higher end, so this has been great in terms of learning basics via private sessions and getting to know the studio. I have not attended any group classes, which would be an additional fee. I am not sure how people in training get set up with their students outside of recruiting from their personal network, but if you're on the fence about pilates, you enjoy private sessions but the price is out of reach- I say call Bodyworks and see if you can get set up with someone in training. Again- not sure if that's how it works since I personally know my instructor, but it's worth a try! I also recommend checking their website for special events. They host free class sampler days from time to time, which I think is an awesome way to check out a studio and the various classes they teach. Bodyworks is always super peaceful and super clean. I love that everyone contributes to wiping down the equipment, etc. The front desk reception is really the only area that could use some improvement. It's often unattended. I'm not sure if that's just how they run things, but I think the first encounter with any business is super important. Greeting customers, members, potential members and making them feel welcome is invaluable.

I've been taking classes for over a year now. I've tried both mat and reformer classes, as well as the Sunday yoga class. The entire feeling of the studio is one of relaxed and open acceptance, which is very important to me. My body absolutely loves how much these classes support strength, flexibility, and balance. As a dancer and a health coach it's extremely important to me to have places I can go on a regular basis to support my fitness goals. Stephanie, Anne, and Miranda are the teachers I've worked with, and I recommend all of them. The classes are small, which allow for personal attention from the instructors and make it so you can get feedback right then and there. I've even grown in height since taking the reformer classes -- and I am short so this was exciting for me. :-)
