Don't be fooled by this nondescript strip mall yoga studio, inside you wild find a lot more!…read more I took a hot yoga class and loved the teacher's descriptive pace, the low lighting of the room, and the perfectly sweatable heat (and the refreshing cool air during shavasana when the teacher cracked the door open). I signed up for unlimited two weeks of classes for $20, a deal even for this typically affordable town. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. If you are new to hot yoga it seemed like they were ready to go into a bit of an introduction, but since I shared that I have a lot of experience they quickly moved on and had me on my way. My favorite part was at the end of the class when we were all given cold towels with peppermint essentials oils; I laid mine on my face during shavasana and then wiped down my face, neck, and arms for a refreshing drive home. The bathrooms have showers if that's more convenient.

The staff is Always so friendly - from the front desk to the instructors. The floor is mopped immediately after every class. Hint: They periodically offer 20% discounts on their packages. They're at random times of the year but always around TGiving and their studio's anniversary (whose date naturally escapes me at the moment). One of the things that has really made me loyal is their Instagram yoga feeds during Covid. They're entirely free. I donated a little while back and would encourage all to do so via their web page to help support these volunteer instructors! Namaste :)

They sell it as this is a last resort for you to lose weight. You can easily join any gym who has strength training classes and get the same results. I did it before I moved here last year and I lost 42 lb and was on a low carb. This gym just babysits you basically to get results and and hold your feet to the fire or if not, if you can't commit to their timely challenge, then you'll lose your $500. It only be worth it if you can really do it, meaning that you have no other obligations that will interfere with going there 5 times a week. So if you need childcare forget it. Don't do it because they don't have it. Honestly this is an overpriced gym. This gym doesn't have to buy workout machines so there's no maintenance on that equipment or the manpower and extra supplies to wipe down all that machinery so I don't know why there Elite memberships are so damn expensive. It's ridiculous. On top of that during their membership drives they blocked a lot of people from commenting about the way they do things, to include the fact about the up front $497. What kind of company blocks other people from reviewing their company. If you're really THAT good, then you would STAND by your name and fight for your gym. You don't so I'm posting my review from my experience everywhere.

The workouts are great and the staff is really motivating! I really enjoyed going. The only thing…read moreI didn't care for was the advertisement as "free" when the challenges cost anywhere from 59-495 plus they talk you into supplements which are quite pricey (some of them were worth it and some were not, but I didn't know this when I bought them). I didn't necessarily mind paying for the classes because in comparison to CrossFit etc it is reasonably priced but that should have been disclosed prior to signing up for a "free" challenge. As for the cons, the sauna is sometimes out of order. It's been off and on all summer. Also, I will say that some of the older people at this place don't understand gym etiquette and will swipe your equipment before you're done if you turn your back for a second. The trainers are somewhat distracting as well. Some are good and know what they're doing, but they're unreasonably loud when speaking with their clients. Others are quiet and polite but don't offer great training; one guy had his older, frail client ripping down half reps on the lat pull down machine like he was 14 years old and trying to impress his friends. Overall, a good experience with a few hang ups.

As a parent and grateful community member, I continue to be impressed by the care, professionalism, and heart that make this place so special. Our experience with the Early Childhood Education program for the past three years has been outstanding. As a parent, the most important thing is trust, and we have real trust in the teachers and leaders. The staff know the children, care about their growth, communicate with families, and create a warm, nurturing environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to come each day. The care is high-quality, thoughtful, robust, and flexible, which matters so much for working families and families with different needs. I also deeply appreciate the J's broader commitment to inclusion, especially its programming for individuals with disabilities and families who benefit from extra support. That is one of the things that makes the J feel like more than a gym, preschool, camp, or community center. It is a place that works hard to create belonging. The facilities are excellent and very well maintained. The campus is especially fun in the summer, with the pool, splash pad, camp programming, sports fields, tennis courts, fitness center, classrooms, art spaces, and community gathering areas all working together. It feels like a true community campus where people of all ages can learn, play, connect, and feel welcome. No organization is perfect, but I have a lot of confidence in the people leading the J and in the direction of the community. For families looking for early childhood education, summer camp, fitness, aquatics, arts, inclusion programming, or simply a welcoming place to belong in Tucson, I highly recommend the Tucson J.
