This is my 2nd bad experience w this gym, Better Bodies. The 1st was back right when Covid hit. I bought 2 Groupons for 6 1/2 hour training sessions. One in March the other 10 days ago Back in March I talked to owner a few times as we were trying to determine the safest time for me to use the Groupon. He said no problem, he'd honor the Groupon if I wanted to wait. After 6-8 weeks passed and Covid guidelines were being followed, I tried calling and emailing and no one got back to me. So, ok, I didn't get my free sessions or a refund, I guess I was too late? Recently I bought another pack of 6 1/2 hour training sessions, this time for my husband and same thing is happening. My husband has called, I've called and emailed and nothing. No return calls. So for me Better Bodies could use better customer service. I'm not happy about losing around $100 total between 2 Groupons I purchased. But more disappointed for my husband. He really needed the help. He is in late 60s and his upper and lower body strength needs improvement. I was happy he was willing to go. So, my friends, I would be very wary of buying this Groupon for Better Bodies. TLDR: At the end of my 11th session at Better Bodies, my trainer informed me that they had recently (2 days prior) been exposed to COVID. I'm upset that this was not disclosed before the start of that session. The owner has not addressed my frustrations. I began seeing a personal trainer at Better Bodies in early April. After having a pretty decent time on an eight-session trial run, I decided to purchase 12 more sessions. However, at the end of the third of these new sessions, my trainer informed me that three of their other clients had recently tested positive for COVID and that they had seen one of these clients as recently as two days before my session. My trainer told me this after I had just been in very close contact with them for nearly thirty minutes. When I told them that I would not have attended my session had I known ahead of time, they responded by saying "it was all very last minute for me as well." While I understand that COVID exposure is a risk whenever in public, I find this behavior completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Given that my trainer knew prior to my session that they had been exposed, they should have told me before my session started so that I could have chosen not to expose myself (I would've even been willing to pay the cancelation fee for the inconvenience to them). I have already reached out to the owner of Better Bodies to request a refund for my remaining nine sessions, as I do not feel comfortable going to a facility that clearly does not prioritize my health and well-being. Unfortunately, they have denied this request, citing that their sessions don't expire, so I can come back when COVID has subsided. However, this response fails to acknowledge or address the core of why I am upset. I understand and accept that COVID exposure is a risk whenever in public, however, if I am paying someone to take an interest in my health and well-being then I have an expectation (which I think is a very reasonable expectation) that they will disclose if might be exposing me to a highly contagious disease before my session starts. In their response to me, the owner did not provide any assurance that a situation like this will not occur again nor did they grant my request for a refund. This is an extremally disappointing response and I cannot in good conscious recommend Better Bodies. I would suggest finding another facility that will prioritize your health and wellbeing. read more

They work hard to bring their expertise to bear in each unique situation. I was referred to Better Bodies by my boss. I was a little nervous about working one on one with a trainer due to lack of effort and awkwardness I received from previous instructors in the past but after just one session at Better Bodies, my nerves were quickly settled. Every employee at Better Bodies takes the time to make sure that every person that walks through the door feels welcome. Each trainer works one on one with the client making sure that they get the most out of every session. You can really feel a sense of dedication and passion that each employee brings to their clients sessions. I have never experienced such a level of ease and comfort at any other facilities that I get at Better Bodies. I've been working with Justin for about a month and a half now and I couldn't be more pleased with my results. Each workout plan is designed solely around your abilities and fitness goal making it easy to recognize your progress. Each trainer helps build a strong awareness of your body as well as instilling a strong sense of self-motivation with each session. I am so thankful that I was referred to Better Bodies; they were just what I needed to get my butt back in shape. This is a truly remarkable business that I would recommend to anyone who is serious about their health and fitness. I'm totally impressed with Better Bodies. It's a studio that focuses on personal training - no group fitness classes here. Justin is totally awesome and super knowledgeable. Their focus is truly on helping their clients meet their goals. Every business owner intends to make money, otherwise they go out of business, but Better Bodies is striving to do so by having a reputable gym with happy clients. The trainers all participate in continuing education courses, and are really up to do date on the latest and greatest in the fitness world. They also view the body holistically, and consider how everything is working together, and what each client needs to do to improve their strength, lose weight, etc. I give this place two thumbs up. read more

Disappointing. I have had personal training before and my trainer was awesome so maybe my expectations are too high. I came in on my first visit expecting to be measured, weighted, asked various questions, and be provided with nutrition info. None of that was done. My personal trainer, Jason, was nice enough and seemed knowledgeable; however, he promised to email me info about what I should eat daily and stuff, but never got anything after two weeks. I didn't feel like they were eager to have me there. I'll be going to Crossfit Purgatory instead. read more

Better Bodies is a great place for help meeting your personal fitness goals. Initially, I met with Justin List, the owner, to review my personal goals and develop a plan. He has worked with me for the past 5 months and is ever aware of my goals and takes them into consideration with every workout. He pushes me enough but not to the point of injury. Justin is a great coach and role model. He has my respect. Overall, I observe clients of the other personal trainers and they all seem pleased with coming to Better Bodies. I am a college student, and was so happy to find something flexible and affordable. The owner Justin is so helpful and has a great attitude. I have been training with Barrett, who I highly recommend. He designed workouts that pushed me beyond where I thought I could go, and I feel much more confident in my workouts thanks to his help. I started at Better Bodies after three years of hardship on my body (a tough pregnancy, being stuck under a baby nursing, running after a toddler, etc). I couldn't touch the floor. I couldn't squat. My whole body was mess. I bought the groupon for 8 session hoping that, as movement specialists, they could help me get back my core & flexibility. By the end of session 4, I could squat with a twenty pound weight and by the end of session 5, I could easily touch the ground. I was on vacation and decided to use a groupon to get in gear with a personal trainer. I had 6 visits and it was fantastic. I trained with the owner Justin and I really like his style. Since I have a few injuries the plan was to take it easy with very focus movements that make a difference. I was so happy with the training style he gave me information on how to find a gym in my area. This is a great gym. My physical therapist and my Better Bodies trainer, Andree, have worked together and put together a great program that challenges me, yet does not stress my weak points. Love this place and it is affordable if you want a personal trainer. I've worked out on and off for years but at my age (50) I needed a gentler approach to exercise. I am learning a lot about how I move my body and how to improve my longterm bad habits. Steve is a pro and great at explaining the physiological reasons for pain, dysfunction, etc. Wish I could go more than 2x per week and look forward to the sessions. read more
