Don't be fooled by this nondescript strip mall yoga studio, inside you wild find a lot more! I took a hot yoga class and loved the teacher's descriptive pace, the low lighting of the room, and the perfectly sweatable heat (and the refreshing cool air during shavasana when the teacher cracked the door open). I signed up for unlimited two weeks of classes for $20, a deal even for this typically affordable town. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. If you are new to hot yoga it seemed like they were ready to go into a bit of an introduction, but since I shared that I have a lot of experience they quickly moved on and had me on my way. My favorite part was at the end of the class when we were all given cold towels with peppermint essentials oils; I laid mine on my face during shavasana and then wiped down my face, neck, and arms for a refreshing drive home. I've been a fan of Sumits for about 3 years now. The best hot/bikram facilities in town, including roomy bathrooms with double shower stalls. The staff is Always so friendly - from the front desk to the instructors. The floor is mopped immediately after every class. Hint: They periodically offer 20% discounts on their packages. They're at random times of the year but always around TGiving and their studio's anniversary (whose date naturally escapes me at the moment). One of the things that has really made me loyal is their Instagram yoga feeds during Covid. They're entirely free. This is more like Bikram Yoga than Hot Yoga. Terrible echo inside, could not hear instructor. I even told her I was kinda hard of hearing prior to class and went to the back as she instructed for better hearing. I have never left a class early. Ever. Except today. Theres always a first I guess. Studio was clean and staff friendly = 2 stars UPDATE: After reading owner response I am deleting One Star. No, nothing was done about the music and I was literally in the back row where the instructor stood. I dont like arguing with businesses, bad practice on the business part. Sometimes a visitor has legit comments, this is one of those times. The echo, I am sure, is largely due to the ceilings and the mirrors which get sp steamed up you cant see in them anyway. I'd start with, at the very least, a headset microphone blue-toothed to the speakers for the instructor(s). Maybe then they wouldnt have to yell and the students wouldnt be struggling hearing which pose to go into. I was NOT the only one affected by the echo and this is NOT the 1st time you've heard this. The studio itself is really nice and there's plenty of parking, but I feel like this particular location is so ridiculously hot! I started off with an unlimited class monthly membership, and I honestly only went about two times because each time I went it was packed with people and the windows/mirrors often fogged up and made it difficult to breathe. It's probably a great experience if you already have some experience with hot yoga and higher than usual humidity levels, but I'd definitely advise the newbies to try it out before committing to a package. read more

I have had the most amazing experience here! All the staff and instructors are so helpful and always kind. The workouts are intense, which is what I needed! I don't have a single bad thing to say. I had never tried hot yoga before and I bought a 10 class Groupon and used the last one recently. I am DEFINITELY considering joining the studio. I enjoyed taking classes from a bunch of different instructors and they were all great, though some slightly easier/more difficult than the others. I also took one of the "Sculpt" classes and it was pretty good, but I got a great workout from the regular class too. The instructors make it so you can really feel 100% comfortable if you need to slow down your pace/take a break from the class and just lay on your mat. The studio (and bathrooms) always seemed really clean and there is even a hairdryer in the bathroom. I felt so great after the first 2 or 3 classes, I am now a lover of hot yoga! read more

Dear Reader: I have been going to their classes for 3 months. The teachers are warm, friendly and knowledgeable. I have a fused back with plates/pins/screws and they have coached me on poses that fit my condition. This is my absolute favorite studio here in Tucson, AZ. I aim to practice there at LEAST 4 times a week and it truly has impacted my life in such a positive manner! By no means did I ever think yoga would become such a big part of my life and despite not being the best at it, it really is a judgement free zone. All levels are welcomed and it shows because the instructors really walk you through every step without neglecting an individual. Additionally, not only is the studio SUPER clean and serene inside, it's an overall great environment! The staff is beyond kind and are there to accommodate you 100% of the time. There have been numerous times I will be running late and will have forgotten something and the person at the front desk gives it to me no questions asked so I can start my class without feeling flustered! Can't say enough good about this place. The owners are so friendly and really get to know you on a first name basis. I love that Sumits adds a vinyasa component to the traditional bikram poses. It is an intense workout but you are free to take it at your own pace. They offer their standard 80 minute classes as well as 60 minute express classes when you are short on time. The real treat comes at the end of the practice when you are given a cold washcloth that has been soaked in peppermint essential oil....heavenly. read more

They have periods of vigourous flow, and then a cool down period. But as most yoga teachers tell you, just go at your own pace and take breaks if you need to. If you wanna do some Yin Yoga to loud Enya and loud classical music... this is the place for you but if not I'd recommend you skip the Sunday Yin Yoga class. I was expecting real chill and mellow ambient/new age music... but instead reviewed the aforementioned music above. It was hard for me to really de-stress which is what I look forward to in a Yin yoga class.
