Man do I miss the Imperial. This place is an absolute disgrace to the legend of the Imperial. They don't have Taco Tuesdays, half price pizza Fridays, 35 cent wings, or cheap drinks anymore. Every time I've come here, whatever bar tender is working has tried to steal my change when paying in cash. They'll tow customers cars who are dining at the place, and the service is always super unprofessional. Besides that between the mediocre overpriced food and drinks the only positive to the place the selection of arcade machines that happen to need a lot of maintenance and are borderline unplayable. We were able to go to this bar for the first time and we were so impressed with literally everything! It's a brand new bar in Reno so we didn't have any expectations. Amazing drinks, food, service, and they have all the arcade games which my group of friends and i loved! the basketball game/skeeball had us looking like kids! I visited Playfield 76 on a Tuesday evening because I'd seen the advertisement for the visiting Nashville hot chicken kitchen takeover. I'm a sucker for the stuff, and fortunately they had an obscenely hot version called Cluckin Hot. It lived up to the name. One of the hottest sandwiches I've had. It was so rewarding to have a hot chicken that also tasted amazing. But more than that, the breading was so absolutely on point. Light and crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The chicken inside was juicy and the bun didn't desolve in my hands. I got to talk with the bartenders, Richie and Terrance, who were both very personable and welcoming. Even the cooks who delivered my food were very friendly. I thought I would be dropping some coins into the skeeball machines, but then I found out they had a Buck Hunter game and I spent the next hour and $7.50 standing in front of that screen. Establishment was aware of our large party, afternoon/evening they werent busy. Male bartender was rude, refused to serve us. All he was interested in is flirting with three young ladies. Another bartender , a female apologized for his behavior and helped our group .White wine was hot, drinks werent that good for the price, however she went above to make sure our needs were met. Left for a few hours, returned. Male bartender still refused to serve us and still entertaining the young ladies. I mean young, most likely not 21. We asked when he would be able to serve us, his response" When I feel like it" Completely empty there, now I know why. And this was on a weekend evening/night! Never again. This place use to be the old Imperial (college bar) and as much as I miss that place and their $0.50 chicken wings & $2.00 tequila shots I love playfield 76 and it was a GREAT replacement! It is probably one of the most fun bars in town. There are endless options of old school games like pin ball, pac man, and even basketball and they games are pretty cheap. They have great craft beer and super different cocktails that are yummy. One of my favorite cocktails is the "Mairzy Doats" which has gin, lemon, blackberry, and oat milk. It sounds weird at first but it is so refreshing. I also love the "Supernova" which was light & dark rum, pineapple, lemon, orgeat, and coconut cream. I heard the food was good and their happy menu was fire but I have yet to try it. So I am excited to try the food since the menu looks delicious. I look forward to coming back here! read more

Great hangout space! The staff is super friendly, my friends and I came for their Mardi Gras party and got to enjoy free play on all the games and kings cake with our drinks! The drinks were super good as was the little slice of kings cake. We also ordered some beignets that were small and fluffy! Served with chocolate and whipped cream. My work team hosted a client appreciation event at Playfield 76. Everything from the planning process (I worked closely with Has), to the event itself was seamless. At one point we realized we had ordered too much food and not enough drink tickets for our attendees, and the staff graciously recommended that the chefs stop cooking the excess pizzas we ordered and transfer what we paid for the pizza over to more drink tickets for our guests. Everyone at Playfield was very attentive and it was obvious to all the attendees that the staff truly cared about everyone's experience. On 1/14 /24 I had the best time there until all our parties phones acted odd. They were acting weird and shutting off. I get that's not completely an establishments fault. But when I addressed it to staff as they were hanging with their friend/patrons. They down played it said to contact my provider , All I did was ask questions "hey are you aware this is happening, I talked to multiple patrons they all confirmed, After not wanting to address the issue the employees chum and called me disrespectful names. The customer had nothing to do with the conversation said I'm "a dick" for asking why my phone shut off. I asked the server if he felt that way. He refused to answer, The manager got involved, And apologized. Which I don't want. I don't need apologies I was only trying to inform them of what's happening, Whether or not there was a hack-attack happening there. When this location first opened up I was excited they had it all Good games food and beer. However the last few times I've been in it's not as glamorous as it once was. First of all the thing that kind of source me is I have to pay for parking which wouldn't be bad if it was still an exciting place to be. Seems like a lot of the arcade games just don't work I was there a couple of times when they just had them turned off and all they needed to do was turn them back on The food tasted different felt like it was cheap or reheated. Which was a far cry from what it was when I first started going here. I just hope that this place is able to kind of bob back up. Cuz it's a great location and there was a great deal of excitement and buzz. Some people might remember this location as the imperial which was also a great spot to hang out before it went away. The service last time I went in there wasn't so great. I always go in and order some drinks and food and play some games but the last time I went the bartender didn't really want to talk to me cuz he thought it was not ordering drinks. Cool concept. But that is where it ended. We were super excited to try this place out. Th were relatively slow and had a few customers and 2 front of house staff. The bartender and a server or busser. Unfortunately I was instructed to order with the bartender. Who seemed way more interested in flirting with the group of young girls at the bar the taking any other customers order. A customer next to me said he had been waiting for ten minutes when I got there he left a few minutes later. I attempted to order for 20+ minutes. Only to get a wave and to be told "one sec" to watch as he went back to flirting and free pouring drinks for the group at the bar. Unfortunately this is where time at this place ends. Being a child of the 80s and 90s I was very excited to see that a new bar-cade had opened in Reno with video games and pinball machines from that era. I had to scratch my nostalgia itch so we decided to Come check out Playfield 76 on a Saturday night with a couple friends. It was early enough in the evening that we were able to get a spot in the parking lot right next to the building. Payment is done on the phone, easy peasy. Once inside, we ordered drinks and food and went to play some games. I love that everything still takes quarters and there are drink holders everywhere so you can sip your drink during lulls in action. Food-wise the highlight of our visit for me was the currywurst fries. Fries were perfectly done, the bratwurst was tasty and the curry ketchup was devine! Next time I'm going to have to get an order just for myself! The fried pickle chips were also enjoyed by all. Drink-wise I was a big fan of their beer selection and my wife really liked her Mexican Fire Squad. Videogame-wise I got the high score on Ms PacMan and a free game on the Indiana Jones pinball machine. Overall a good time was had and I can't wait to return and spend some time on that Simpsons game! read more

A secret shopper told me to leave like it was a Walmart??? Never had that experience at a bar before. I was attempting to order a drink and ask for some dice to play 1-4-24, and this random drunk lady told me I was not welcome there. I thought it was a joke but I looked up at the bartenders who wouldn't even make eye contact with me. I was excited to check this place out as I like the concept of the bar but I will not be returning. I would highly recommend other bars like Ole Bridge Pub, The Eddy, or Axe Bar.
