Tide Bowl - banana blend base with granola, pineapple, kiwi, mango, honey, bee pollen and goji berries
Lisa R.

Playa Bowls is one of the more well-known establishments to grab an açaí bowl but I've never been there until today. I see them all over town. Other places I've been to for açaí bowls never really "wowed" me. My favorite thing about Playa is their MASSIVE menu. There are so many options to choose from; it can actually get a little overwhelming to decide. Nonetheless, I love banana so naturally I chose a bowl with a banana base. It was called the Tide Bowl. Highly recommend, especially with bee pollen as the topping and the mixed fruit on top. Simply delightful. The inside is colorful, pleasant and cheery. The music choices were very good, too. A good throwback playlist from the early 2000's. I was vibing! Portion sizes are great for the price of each bowl. I'll be back again on another warm day!

So here's an update to my initial review.. I've been a big fan of playa bowls for a while now, and they usually knock it out of the park. But my last visit was kind of a bummer. The fruit in my bowl looked old, the granola was stale, and there were some big ice chunks in the açaí. It just wasn't up to their usual awesome standard. Not to mention, their bowls are pretty expensive and I'm a student and I usually get playa bowls as a treat for myself so I was pretty sad when I saw my bowl and kicked myself for spending so much. I'm hoping this was just a fluke because I really love this place.

They finally have a good working AC... and as usual, the Mucho Mango is the way to go... it steals the show. It's cool in there, amazing artwork, and very quiet. The staff are very respectful and fast with the order.

first time visiting this well-known chain! i stopped by on a hot summer day for a refreshing drink and got the pink pitaya smoothie. the smoothie was honestly extremely mediocre, it was terribly sweet and tasted artificial. i found the drink hard to finish, and i definitely would not order it again. the store itself was colorful and well-decorated. not particularly clean, but not filthy either. the staff were fine, not particularly nice or friendly, but they did their jobs. i don't have any plans to come back, but i would be open to trying another smoothie or a bowl if the occasion arises.

Great smoothies- but what kind of business makes their employees work indoors without AC during the summer? Seems unsanitary.

They were making fun of an elderly man who's card declined. The food is great, the people, not so much.

Once in while, an açaí bowl sounds really good. It's like the healthier alternative to ice cream…read more For lunch today, I made my way over to Pressed Juicery to snag a plant-based bowl. The selection of snacks at the register is very carefully curated. Mostly all-natural/clean on-the-go foods, with a few recognizable brands found at Whole Foods. I love that they partnered with Cymbiotika, too. The wellness aspect of the store truly impressed me. I also want to note how clean it was inside. I got a quick "hello" from the employee at the front, but he appeared to be packing an online order, and was the only associate in the store. I perused the menu until he was ready to assist. I ordered the açaí power bowl. Everything was cold and fresh - the granola added a nice amount of crunch and the banana mixed in the açaí was my favorite part. I added a pinch of cinnamon when I got back to my desk. Great spot to pick up healthy snacks and juices for those busier days! I definitely want to stop in again for a few of the superfood-infused shots.

First time visiting Bambu here in Philly! I've been to a few locations in the SF Bay area already,…read moreso I am already well familiar with the franchise generally. Shop is on the smaller side, but definitely clean and appealing. Love having Vietnamese music videos on the screen that are chiller and a nice change of pace from other places that are showing sensory overloading K-Pop or anime. Definitely less distracting when eating in. Our group ordered a ton of different things, but I got the #13 Ube Halo Halo. I've had the real stuff in the Philippines, and this was pretty good! We asked for an extra cup to share too, and were able to get that, along with our desserts within minutes of ordering. Not too busy on a Sunday evening, so this place was also a great place to chat. Only 3-4 tables here, so seating can only accommodate smaller groups, especially if there are other groups already.

It's kind of funny that my first review in my new city is for a spot I already know from back home,…read morebut that familiarity is exactly what made me so happy to find it was in my area. It felt like a reliable, consistent, and delicious reminder of home. I ordered the #4 Chè Sương Sa Hạt Lựu, which comes with red tapioca (my favorite!), mung bean, jello, grass jelly, pandan jelly, and coconut milk. The mix of flavors and textures was spot on with chewy, crunchy, smooth, and refreshing elements all in one cup. At first I thought there was a lot of ice but once everything was stirred in, the balance was just right and it kept the dessert cool without diluting the taste. Service was quick and efficient. My order was ready in no time and the staff handled a steady stream of customers with ease. The space itself is small with a few tables and chairs, and it definitely filled up over the hour I was there on a random Monday afternoon. The atmosphere had a casual vibe that made it easy to relax and enjoy my chè without feeling rushed. Overall this was a wonderful first stop to review in my new home and I am already looking forward to coming back!
