They made sure everything was set up and we had everything we needed. For a large group reservation, they have a $60 minimum and you order everything ahead of time. (The afternoon tea set is mandatory for everyone to get). We had the afternoon tea set, caprese tarts and strawberry parfait for all attendees. The food was filling and tasty. The chocolate lava cake was super rich and decadent but also really delicious. I feel like it kinda battled with the ube crepe cake since they're total opposites. The staff were friendly. The interior was really cute and had a relaxing type of atmosphere that made it great for a nice place to sit, chat, and have dessert.

The base layer of the shaved ice was almost tasteless - didn't really taste like vanilla or milk, and it was just sprinkled with Oreo. I would rather just buy my own pack of Oreos and eat that. I have ordered delivery from Playa Bowls a few times and the smoothies and bowls taste great. However, when I recently went to the storefront after seeing that I could order to-go downstairs - I was told that I couldn't do so. I was wearing a mask. I had politely told the staff that the sign downstairs said opposite, but instead of letting me go to the register to order I was told that I needed to order on seamless. The attitude of the staff was prentious and unwilling to help resolve the misunderstanding. It was frustrating as the sign downstairs was contradicting what I was being told in person. It was not a good experience. Unfortunately I won't be ordering from there again. I'd much rather support businesses that care about their in person customer experience. read more

Already familiar with Playa Bowls from their Macdougal location, which is great, so tried the sushi and wine bar at this location to change it up. In the top 3 sushi experiences I've had in NYC. Got to watch cool surf videos in the background while enjoying my sushi over a glass of red wine. Even though it's located in a fitness center the atmosphere was relaxed like a regular restaurant/bar. read more
