Now imagine having to write all this because they don't offer in store refunds or credit for a drink that was horrible, and not only have a been a customer for years but a reviewer and still no reply!!! Because their Matcha Drink was just wrong all the way. Hello, I am writing to request a refund for a matcha smoothie I recently purchased. Unfortunately, the drink was extremely acidic and tasted unpleasant. After trying it, I attempted to call the store but no one answered the phone. Since I could not reach anyone, I went back to the store in person with the drink still nearly full. When I arrived, the two employees working informed me that they were unable to process refunds and that I would have to contact someone through email. I found this very unprofessional. As a customer, I should not have to leave the store, send an email, and wait an unknown amount of time for a resolution, especially when the product was brought back immediately and was still full. I usually go to the Belmar location but I stopped by after a stressful doctor's appointment in Brick. Big, big difference! I usually order a smoothie (Booster) in Belmar but decided on the Oatmeal Power Bowl, which was absolutely delicious. The one in Belmar takes your order and that's it. No greeting no anything. A couple and myself waited over 15 minutes for our order, not knowing that you had to go around the back to pick up your order. This one in Brick, the cashier greets you, is happy to see you and by the way, asked me to input my phone number for rewards. Rewards?? No one at Belmar asked me for anything after so many purchases. Came here on a summer evening. I appreciated that it is only one group allowed in at a time. I also appreciate that this specific location has later hours than most other Playa Bowls in the area. As of July 2020, the hours are 8AM-10PM every day. For me wanting a smoothie bowl at 8:00PM, those hours were amazing... The Toms River locations close at 8PM. When you get there, there may be a line - be sure to wait 6 feet apart. Once you get inside, you place your order, pay, and wait outside for your name to be called to have your bowl passed off to you in a bag with spoons and napkins. The wait for my partner and me was about 10 minutes going in and 5 minutes of a wait since it was a crowded night. There was outdoor seating but was not large enough to fit everyone waiting that night. Would be nice if there were more outdoor seating in the evening. We waited on the sidewalk for our Goji Pitaya Bowl: 50% Pitaya, 50% Açaí order, and ate in the car which is typical nowadays for taking out cold items on hot summer evenings. The flavors mixed well together and I was super happy getting both açaí and pitaya. The goji berries were not super sweet which I liked, and added nice texture to the smoothie together with the granola. The banana and the pineapple gave it a nice tropical feel. I definitely recommend this flavor, but if you're a huge coconut / pina colada lover, I'd give this bowl a try with half açaí or Pitaya, and half coconut base!! read more

Ok. Although I plan to visit this location, their customer service needs some work. I walked in, very excited about the fact that they had a drive thru, and tried to engage the young man, he was straight to business and I was the only customer there. Nice and clean location and I wanted to dine in but they only had the high stool seating, and I have a bad back. When my order was ready the young lady said it was ready, placed it down, without being bagged and no spoon. I had to do this on my own. i come here pretty often and there so good! with covid going on the whole staff is always wearing masks whenever i go in as well as gloves. i always see them cleaning which is great. inside normally is so pretty, they usually have a swinging chair which is so fun to sit on and a bunch of cute seating. and the artwork inside is so nice and aestheticly pleasing. because covid all there seating is gone for the inside like every other place in nj. but on a non-covid non no indoor dinning basis there dinning is amazing. they have a long menu and it's usually very hard to decide. they also have many vegan and gluten free options which is great! i mostly get the dragon berry bowl and substitute the regular granola with the gluten free/vegan granola and substitute the honey for almond butter or peanut butter!! definitely recommend trying if you haven't yet !! read more

I had the Tropical Bowl with the Acai base. I saw one or two comments on here about these bowls not being healthy. I can say they are! The Acai did not taste overly sweet and it's just blended with fruit. The cacao nibs were unsweetened and I had the granola taken off the order because I didn't want the extra sugar. I've always been a fan of açaí bowls, and I think playa bowls has the largest bowls out there. They're extremely filling. I get the classic pura vida which has granola, banana, blueberries, and strawberries. I've also had the Nutella açaí bowl, and although it's delicious, the Nutella fills you up very quickly. If you look at the refined sugar in the granola alone, you'll realize that it's not really health food, but better than bacon and eggs - unless you're into Paleo. Usually get 1/2 & 1/2 in my coffee, but since place is vegan, my choices were limited to soy, almond, or coconut milk, so I had it black. . It wasn't bad, but I don't get the hype. The ingredients were fresh, the place is clean, staff was young, super friendly, and bubbly. But I don't see myself running back. I normally would not go to a place like this due to my extreme allergies however I felt comfortable the second I walked in the door. I was immediately greeted and offered help if needed. The young lady at the register was unbelievably helpful with helping me find a delicious menu item that would meet my needs as someone with my allergies. She even offered to make my bowl special for me in the back which she did wonderfully! She immediately changed her gloves and found a clean work area to avoid cross contamination which I told her I was very worried about. I have always loved playa bowls in brick, but today I grew a Love even more. A few days ago I ordered my usual stupid Cupid bowl but without the coconut flakes because I'm allergic, and when I got to work to eat my bowl I noticed they put the coconut in it so I was upset I couldn't eat it and didn't have time to go back and have them make me another one. After I called them they apologized so much and told me to come back whenever and I can get a new bowl.
