Every time I order from the Belmar shop through the Playa Bowls app the portions become smaller and smaller, and the granola, coconut and nutella become less and less. For an extra 50 cents you can add-on additional toppings to your bowl. My bowl was basically a meal and a dessert all in one. The bowls at a price point of $9-11 dollars are all freshly made to order, which explains the lines. Good tasty things take time! It's crazy how big Playa Bowls has gotten. I remember a few years ago they were just a food cart. I shop by most times I'm in the area. Playa Bowls is entirely dairy-free which is great for those who are lactose intolerant (like me). They offer bowls, juices and smoothies and use very fresh ingredients. Although the bowls are similar among the bases, the bases are all different. They have açaí, banana, coconut, pitaya (dragonfruit) and kale based. Each of the bowls are topped with fruit, granola and drizzled in honey, peanut butter or Nutella (dependent on the bowls). I haven't tried the chia pudding bowls but they're much smaller. Each bowl is about $9-$11 but they keep you full for hours. The taste is great and it makes you feel like you're having a healthy choice whether it's for breakfast or lunch in comparison to all the pizza on the boardwalk. I got myself an electric mermaid bowl since it was visually appealing, I must say I was bowled out by the flavors and taste and gobbled it all down in a few minutes. It was filled up with some Pitaya fruit purée blended with coconut milk, strawberries, pineapple, bananas, shaved coconut, granola and topped with Nutella :) It was truly refreshing and also filling at the same time. Some may feel $10 for this bowl is a bit expensive but I'd say it's worth every penny to eat this healthy yet yummy bowl that is sure going to make you happy! Now that I finally tried it, I can say it's worth the hype and definitely waiting on line.
