I was recently in this facility on Saturday, May 28th between 12:00 and 1:30.
I was called there as a health professional by one of my elderly patients , who was attempting to have a visitation with her grandson. She was accompanying her adult son, who had a court ordered visitation with his child, and was unfortunately being supervised by his ex-wife's very aggressive boyfriend.
That boyfriend proceeded to take pictures and video of the young man and his son, also collecting plenty of collateral photos and videos of other small children and their parents. The play place employees allowed this to go on.
Additionally, this aggressive young man went around and told many of the other parents that the father, who was attempting his visitation, was a registered sex offender, which he is not. In fact, he also told the employees this. The employees then approached my elderly patient to tell her that her son was a registered sex offender.
I arrived to find my patient in mild hypertensive distress and was attempting to calm her and respond to her medical situation, when the same aggressive young man approached me told me I had to leave and that he would call the police on me.
The employees then came up and told me I needed to leave, despite the fact that I told him I was a medical professional and assisting my own patient. They also told me that it was very likely the police would be called. I'm not sure how they don't realize that had my patient gone into cardiac arrest. They could be held responsible for allowing not only his intimidation to upset her, but to refuse her medical care from her own medical assistant.
As a parent, I would be highly concerned that this place and its employees allowed this man to intimidate others, take photos of other children under the surreptitious intent of taking pictures of this father and his child, and to basically make accusations that affected their other patrons.
I attempted to address this concern on their own Facebook page, and to warn other parents that photos of their children had been taken without their authority or even awareness... But of course the play space removed this post immediately.
To me this indicates that they do not have a concern for their patrons or the children in their facility.
