We came in the morning on a weekday. Unfortunately, a lot of the animals were napping (lots of nocturnals) but we still have a nice time. This zoo is in a park and there are a lot of trees and shades -- it doubles as a walking path. I noticed that there were lots of benches throughout, which is nice. There was also cute decor like gnomes, fairy gardens, and animal statues. Standouts were the sand cats, penguins, lemurs, and red pandas. There were wolves, arctic foxes, and lots of other neat critters. At the front there's a petting zoo with sheep and goats, and you can feed them if you buy a cup of chow from the gift shop. In the gift shop, I noticed they sell art prints made by the animals, which is super cute! I noticed a bus stop across the street, so it seems accessible by public transit. The park its within has a lot of really neat play features too, so you could definitely make an afternoon of it. The price is right. It's only about $10 a ticket for admission, and like $2 - $3 for petting zoo food. Which, in this economy especially, is fantastic. Cute place. Worth checking out!

The upstairs party area is a great setup that is open to the rest of the gym so you can keep an eye on all the action. One of the best parts of the party was the two birthday party specialists. I didn't get their names, but they were absolutely fantastic with the kids. They gave clear instructions, were incredibly patient, and encouraged every climber as they made their way to the top. Lots of variety (bouldering, top rope, and lead), easy certification process, and good options for a solo climber (e.g., plenty of autobelays). They also have a great shop for gear, more comprehensive than most other climbing gyms I've been to in the region. So you can get everything you need right here. As far as other amenities, they have a chill area with plenty of seating that includes a water dispenser, coffee machine, microwave, and mini fridge. They do have bathrooms and showers but they don't have a full locker room situation. They only have cubbies near the climbing walls. As far as gym equipment, they do have some, and it might be enough for what you're looking for. But they don't have a full gym's worth of equipment. So before you abandon your regular gym membership, consider taking at look at the equipment they have available and determine if that's adequate for your training. They just opened earlier in January and are still setting up. So things like climbing instruction or yoga classes aren't available yet for the foreseeable future, especially because they are still in the process of hiring all of those staff. So it should be coming soon (?), but it's unclear when. They will also have recreational leagues for children and adults but, again, not yet available. The gym is off to a good start and honestly, I'm glad they're finally open even if not all the peripheral amenities are fully ready to go just yet. If you want to climb, you can definitely do that here right now, and that's huge for this area. Just wanted to share this review and be transparent about what is actually available right now (and I can update later on when full amenities are available). Happy climbing!

The swimming area is clean and lifeguards are on duty. There's adequate snack items availavle,available, various watercraft for rent to cruise around the pond. The scenery is postcard level, and the parking and picnic facilities are outstanding. If you want to make it a more fulfilling day for the kids, Cole Park is only a hop & a skip away from world famous Animal Adventure Park. A wonderful day is in store for you with a swim, picnic, and a visit with an amazing menagerie of exotic animals. I highly recommend Cole Park for the entire family. Have big fun!

There is swimming for about 40 feet in, and then there are boat and kayak rentals for the rest of the lake. Let me tell you something - Kayaks aRe fun! You can go so fast in them. I towed both my friends with my kayak last time, they are wimps! Boats are pretty boring to me, I could never get the oars right. Oh, as of last year, kayak and boat rentals are free. wait... FREE! Even 1 dollar is a deterrant based on principle. Here it is so easy. So THIS is where my tax dollars are going... 5 stars for free kayaks. Love kayaks.
