The swimming area is clean and lifeguards are on duty. There's adequate snack items availavle,available, various watercraft for rent to cruise around the pond. The scenery is postcard level, and the parking and picnic facilities are outstanding. If you want to make it a more fulfilling day for the kids, Cole Park is only a hop & a skip away from world famous Animal Adventure Park. A wonderful day is in store for you with a swim, picnic, and a visit with an amazing menagerie of exotic animals. I highly recommend Cole Park for the entire family. Have big fun!

There is swimming for about 40 feet in, and then there are boat and kayak rentals for the rest of the lake. Let me tell you something - Kayaks aRe fun! You can go so fast in them. I towed both my friends with my kayak last time, they are wimps! Boats are pretty boring to me, I could never get the oars right. Oh, as of last year, kayak and boat rentals are free. wait... FREE! Even 1 dollar is a deterrant based on principle. Here it is so easy. So THIS is where my tax dollars are going... 5 stars for free kayaks. Love kayaks.

There are picnic tables, a shelter, restrooms, and if the locks arent in use, access to the canal trail on the other side. Plenty of parking. Just an all around nice place to spend a little while. This place is also dog friendly, as long as you pick up after them, and my dogs quite enjoy sniffing around.

Worlds End is another fantastic state park in Pennsylvania! There are a lot of sights to see and…read morethings to do. Unfortunately, the weather interfered with our ability to see as much as we had hoped, but we still had a great time! There is a nice visitor center with a variety of historic and nature info available, including some great info on the CCC work that took place in the park (there's a really nice interactive model of a CCC camp too) and how and where the park name is suspected to have been derived from. There is a real snake to look at, as well. A very nice playground is located nearby, and this section of the park also offers easy access to the Loysalsock Creek and the beach with a snack bar, plus multiple picnic tables and shelterhouses. It's beautiful even just to look at the valley walls and the creek itself. There are several gorgeous vistas available, some by foot and some by foot or car. We especially liked the Loyalsock Canyon Vista, which can be reached on foot or by car. It is located next to the Rock Garden, which is a very neat grouping of giant rocks and boulders that is a lot of fun to check out. The park also offers camping and plenty of trails. Worlds End is located within the Loyalsock State Forest, so there is also a lot more that one could explore in the area.

Ricketts Glen used to be my favorite PA state park, but World's End has totally won me over. The…read moremost important reasons: 1) The hikes here are a little more challenging, a little longer, and just generally more enjoyable for me. 2) The family campground is spacious - the tent sites and modern electric sites are interspersed, but you don't feel like you're right on top of the next site over. 3) The bathroom facilities are clean and warm, no matter what time of year I've visited. Big ups to maintenance and the camp hosts. 4) The camp hosts and visitors center personnel are fantastically kind and helpful. They obviously love this park. 5) Fun stuff like the Forksville General Store, Snack stands, swimming hike, Haystacks, Rock Garden, and all kinds of other interesting places to explore! I've been here with friends, with my family, and by myself, and I've thoroughly enjoyed each trip, so I'll definitely be back for more!

Wintergreen Park is a really neat spot to explore with some fascinating rock features. "Boiling…read morePot" is the natural swimming pool that's great for a quick dip. (Be careful, because it's not as deep as you'd think) A common frustration that I have (that I'm sure many others have as well) with beautiful spots like these is the accumulation of trash left behind by park visitors. I was really bummed to see so much junk that could have easily been carried out by the same humans who carried it in. It's really not that hard. L.N.T. y'all - LEAVE NO TRACE!

The adjoining park and public pool area is an obscure place, perhaps because the town (Blenheim) has a history of being saddled with disasters (floods and natural gas explosions) during its several hundred year history -- and is quite remote from populated areas. The foot of the falls is loaded with beaver chewed creek wood and fossil bearing rock (great for prospecting with kids) -- and the nearby pools and picnic areas are cheap and clean -- quite sophisticated really. We always stop here to explore with our boys when we are in the area.

Very nice, well-maintained park that has various trails, picnic areas, pavilions, and water access…read more There's an inlet area or two (water flowing into the lake) that could use some additional clean-up (based on my last visit), but I'm hoping they're working on it. That said, I'll probably only visit during the off season (early spring or after Labor Day by a bit). I came here once with my dog and they're apparently very specific about dogs ONLY being in a little beach area. I wasn't letting him in the water anywhere else (I definitely want to be respectful of the main beach area and any swimmers), and he's always on leash when we visit, but I was followed around (from one end of the park to the other) by a member of the park staff during that previous visit with him They could never tell me what I was doing that they didn't like, but they kept trying to usher me out of wherever I was. Very weird and uncomfortable.
