While visiting some friends in Binghamton, they took us to this quaint farm where we started with a delicious lunch! They had an extensive menu of salads and sandwiches. There is also a half sandwich and soup option. We ordered a cheese steak and their signature apple ham and melted swiss cheese sandwich. The sandwiches were amazing due to their breads being freshly made there - super soft!Only come if you are not in a rush though as we waited awhile before they took our orders and us receiving the food. If we had a smaller group of 2 or 4 we could have sat at a table by their deck overlooking the scenic farm. I highly recommend families with children come here as they had various activities set up near the restaurant including a small haunted barn which was pretty spooky inside, a mining for gem activity ($5), corn maze ($5), petting zoo where you can buy pellets to feed the goats, and an indoor slide. We then drove up the hill where you can park near the entrance for apple picking. When I went, they had about 7 apple varieties. Although they didn't have the varieties that I'm used to seeing like Fuji and Asian pears, their prices are very reasonable. We only paid $5 for 8 apples! Before leaving, we also picked up a dozen apple donuts and half gallon of very sweet apple cider. read more

Had a wonderful lunch with my Sig-O who enjoyed his first visit with an order of the specialty ham and apple open face sandwich (okay, he ordered it with turkey, but still amazing)! I had the Halupki soup, grilled cheese and a side of potato salad, also delish! Equally as wonderful were the staff members that got us a clean table, fast beverage service and food delivered fast. The atmosphere is adorable and for a shopper like me, lots of fun to look at the things for sale on the way out. We were going to pick apples, but got a little confused because it appeared that the route was closed off to the orchards. Great maze except they put you in at 3pm and cone pull you out at 340pm. We made it halfway through. Definitely NOT worth the $31 we paid for the 3 of us to have less than an hour of interrupted "fun". Will never come back despite the most decent maze games around due to poor service and value. What a way to ruin family fun. Boo. Will definitely let others know this is not what you are looking for. Explains why they have legal disclaimers plastered everywhere, they must upset a lot of people pretty often. Yuck for family business. read more

We came up to Seneca Falls to visit family and stopped in Binghamton on the way and were recommended here for breakfast. The food, cider, and orange juice were delicious and our server was great. The woman at the register didn't really seem like she wanted to be there and wasn't very hospitable but everyone else seemed very friendly. The place was busy and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. Hopefully will be back to pick some fruit in summer and apples in the fall. Definitely recommend the oatmeal if that's your thing. It was delicious and fresh. Overall a good experience. read more

Owner was extremely disrespectful and rude. Refused to shake my Uncle's hands when he introduced himself to the owner. Owner insulted his own employees in front of us and I will never go there again. I try to support small businesses as much as I can but you can't change nasty. I thought this was a welcoming, family place but my family and I have never felt so insulted and unwelcome before. I would 100% recommend finding another apple orchard or sunflower field because spending money dying flowers and dealing with a cranky owner is not worth it! Honestly, this is probably one of my favorite places nearby Bing. I was a little skeptical just because I wasn't too sure how expensive apple picking would be. But boy o boy was I surprised to find out it was super inexpensive. It was a great activity to do during a fall day, without having to pay more than what you would pay than buying apples from a store. After having a jubilant time of apple picking. We w that this place also had a cafe that served some mean food. Portions were huge and after eating we were able to check out the store and buy some fresh spices. Went here for apple picking with a group of people for an outing and was racially profiled and discriminated against. The white middle-aged woman with short hair and glasses came over to the group and said people were complaining and mentioned something about decorum (not sure how my colleagues and I were affecting any of this by solely sitting in the space.) Every other non-person of color received water, while we didn't and was never offered. My boss had to approach her because she felt that we were being treated differently. I honestly would never go back here and it's very unfortunate in this day in age people are still be treated unfairly. read more

Awesome breakfast place! Great service, great food and good prices. The atmosphere is awesome. It's located on a farm and in the warmer weather they have outdoor porch seating overlooking their farm. We go often in the summer and eat outside; however the quaint indoor decor is awesome too! It's country farm vibe is a great place to bring out-of-town guests. Came here to pick apples and have breakfast with our young grandson. The wait in the café on a holiday fall weekend was about half an hour. We are breakfast connoisseurs and weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised by the excellent breakfast! The omelettes, homemade toast, home fries, and pancakes were all first rate. The icing on the cake was the large container of real maple syrup sitting on every table. Most places you have to pay extra for a small container. Our grandson loved the small petting zoo and the apples we picked were crisp and delicious. Service was slow, but very friendly. read more

They don't put one dime into this place. The driveway is in such disrepair and they are to lazy to make new signs so you know what apples you're picking. During my stay in Binghamton, I wanted to take my son Blueberry picking, and found Apple Hills during my searching. Unfortunately, they didn't have blueberry picking the day I went, but they did have Raspberries. At the farm, they had a nice little gift shop and a cafe. They also had some farm animals. Really like this place. I go here for strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and apple picking. The views are beautiful, especially the blueberry field. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The cafe is yummy as well - but be warned, it gets packed during the fall weekends. If you can grab a seat on the porch, it's the better option. The breakfast varies from French toast and pancakes with fruit toppings to egg dishes. Lunch is a variety of sandwiches with sides and soups. I really enjoy the Tuscan sandwich. Their homemade bread is delicious and stays fresh for a long time if you buy a loaf. The only downside is the parking lot - it's a wreck and needs to be paved desperately. read more

Picking blueberries is so relaxing with this fantastic view of the hills and valleys. I expected there to be slim pickings, but the bushels were full and mostly ripe. Went in July while working short term in Binghamton. Arrived early on a clear blue sky Saturday morning and picked blueberries to the sound of birds chirping in the background and the laughter of children enjoying their time picking. What a wonderfully relaxing and happy time that morning was. If you live in the area you are very blessed to be able to pick fresh fruit off the trees... Very cute farm! It has a little pen of farm animals, haunted barn as well a U-Pick apples. There season is coming to a close; today was there last day! They were only picking one apple today but they had 5 different varieties in huge bends for you to pick from. The apples were very reasonably priced. We selected 33 pounds of apples to eat, make pies, apple butter, and put in freezer to make various apple desserts in the winter! Well worth the stop! read more

The people at the farm were very polite, but there were a major lack of apples, pumpkins and squash. The only apples that were there were empire apples. this place is great, perfect for a short trip on a fall day. they have tons of u-pick apple trees with tons of fruit on them and earlier in the summer they have u-pick strawberries and blueberries as well. this place is pretty big with a very nice scenic view. they also have a haunted barn that might be scary to kids, but as an adult it's pretty tacky, which is still nice for a good laugh. they also have a petting zoo with a mule, goat, and a couple sheep. there's a restaurant on site too which is pretty good and it also doubles as a small market, but the market place kinda leaves a little to be desired. still, it's definitely worth a visit. read more

We enjoy picking strawberries each year at Apple Hills, and added blueberries to our adventures this last year. Picking can be very busy and is only available on limited dates due to weather and the ripening of the fruit, so be sure to watch their facebook page and website for updates before you make the trip. The store has changed tremendously from the fond memories of my childhood, but it has an interesting selection of unique items and a great amount of spices, herbs, and food-safe decorating sprinkles and sugars available at a decent price. The best part of the visit is the meal at the cafe - don't be put off by the limited menu choices (changes daily, I believe) because everything we have sampled is positively delicious! Service is slow, I think because they have been extremely busy when we've been there, but well worth the wait. I grew up picking large quantities of fruits for canning and jams, and the time in the fields goes a lot faster for me now that I know there is a delicious meal just steps away once we finish picking. read more
