They had advertised that pianist Stephen Mars's would be playing that night, so I checked out his music on line and got so excited to see him and hear some of his CD of Beatles music that I went with my girlfriend that night to see him. But I misunderstood the hours he was playing from 2-6 and believed he was playing from 6-9. So when we arrived there we were very disappointed to hear he was finished playing. So after we spoke to him for a little while explaining our disappointment, he went back up on stage and played some Beatles music for us and the other patrons despite his shift having ended. There was a pretty decent crowd and everyone loved it. Stephen is really a wonderful musician and truly an interesting and terrific guy! So I would highly recommend the music in The Backroom Live at the Fish House, particularly when Stephen Marks is performing there. Thanks Harry K.

When we booked our reservation, it clearly says on the email "ARRIVE ANY TIME YOU LIKE" 5:30-9:30…read more As we were on our way we received a call at 7:15 saying we were late and pressuring us to arrive. When we got there the hostess immediately asked us if we're one of the "late ones" that hasn't shown up yet. We showed her the email that states to come whenever yet she still argued it with us that it starts at 7:30. Also, the email states that you have to pay a $20 fee per person if you don't order food....yet they never mention that you have to order $20 worth of food PER PERSON. On top of that, there's a lovely $8 fee if you share your meal. Food portion was tiny and my shrimp meal had plastic in it. When I mentioned this to the waitress, the chef came out and argued that it was shell, to which I physically picked up the plastic and stretched it to show it was definitely not a shell. At the end of the meal we received our check and were informed that there is a "service fee" AKA the waitress added her own tip onto our check (she physically wrote in the tip on the check and even wrote the total). We were never informed about any service fee until the end of the meal. Extremely disappointed. Will not be going back.
