So I went in with a bag full of clothes. Brand names. Jeans, Nike shows and other brand na.e guy shoes. Tank tops athea clothes. And with in 5 min I got a text. Went back in. Was told they couldn't take anything because they were over 2 yrs old!! And shoes could not be verified! Ok so some of that my daughter bought there. It's clothes! Jeans shoes. Seriously took nothing and verified clothes were over 2 years old. How?? In 5 min. And it's clothes. In style stuff!! Waste of time. I say people stop shopping there!! There customer service SUCKS!! The children behind the counter were more interested in counting clothes bids to win a $50 gift card than helping customers. I waited 20 minutes with no other customers within plain sight of the desk to find out that they didn't want the clothes I brought. However, before all that, I needed to give them my personal information which they refused to delete. I'm pretty sure they're going to sell it. When was it a good idea to put baby girls at the customer service desk, let alone make them managers. What a crock!!! read more

I took in a big zip up bag and a smaller bag of really nice stuff, it was all folded neatly and no wrinkles in blouses, dresses, etc. When i returned to pick up the items they rejected, I noticed that they literally just threw my stuff back into the zip up bag, everything rumpled up and I couldn't even zip up thr bag. The smaller bag also, like they just went through all of my items, took what they wanted to buy and left me a big pile of wrinkled clothing. So rude. Will not return to this business. read more

I don't come in often, but when I do, the girls are always snotty and have bad attitudes, but they're teenagers, so it's expected. Also, what's expected is clean clothes. That wasn't the case. I bought a pair of jeans from here the other day, and when I got home, I realized they had a white mark in the crotch area where someone previously didn't wear underwear, and then brought them to Plato's. The first thing was that the manager was extremely rude, I asked about the ID policy to see if can add more to sell and she seemed annoyed at having to explain to me so I wanted to see if I could add my friend's stuff to mine and she was talking to me and completely ignoring my friend and I explained that it wasn't for me and she basically yelled at me whatever and kind of just didn't explain the policy. To which my other friend told me that every time she's come here the manager has always been a b&*ch. I waited over 45 min for them to check my three bags and they only took two and only offered me $3 for the two items when the shirt that I gave them was at least $9. The girl stated that it was what she could take that follows the criteria when I literally had other clothes that looked exactly like what was on the rack and a bigger size since most of the clothes on the racks were extra small and I'm a medium to large size. Essentially my clothes were the exact same but in a bigger size. So I left with only three dollars, and I only bought two thing from there, had to put my friends stuff back in my car because they refused to look at them, and had to deal with constant judgmental looks, rude service, and a sh*tty manager. Never going back there again, usually I don't leave reviews but they really turned my day from meh to terrible. So sorry not sorry. read more

What a bunch of snobs working in here. I swear I have never been snubbed so much. This is a great place to shop if you have time to dig and need absolutely NOTHING from the staff. Its affordable & stylish. The staff need a lesson in customer service. Especially this one guy that works there that thinks he's working at some hoighty toighty upscale boutique. I have news for him. Everything in here has already been worn. You are surrounded by stinky shoes and other peoples leftovers. And he is like a freakin' Nazi when it comes to people bringing in stuff. He was down right rude to this one mom bringing in her kids clothes. HE told her it was all old and out of style stuff. I saw what she had and it didn't look any different than what was on the racks. I have brought in multiple bags of clothing, all are newer gently worn, and most have tags still on them. I brought in a pair of men's lucky brand jeans that I bought for $95 and they offered me $6 for them. That's ridiculous. Every time I bring in clothes I get offered very little money. Their shelves are full of ugly, wrinkly, old clothes. However, I brought in hardly worn, new-ish American Eagle, Abercrombie, and VS clothes. I brought about 50 items, and they would only take two. For the items they DID take, they totally ripped me off for them. I sold a pair of designer jeans that I pay over $70 for, and they took them for $8. The staff was also rude and snobby. My advice: Don't waste your time, energy, or gas to get there. You're better off donating your clothes to charity. read more

The service has changed tremendously!!! So has the product. They may have gotten more selective with the items they buy, but they have trendy things on the racks that are in pretty great condition now! The staff is always friendly and helpful with any questions asked. I went to Plato's closet on route 5 in Springfield MA. this morning with three bags of items from my 12 and 14 year old grandkids. I then asked if they also accepted adult clothing which they looked puzzled about. I did bring in three adult clothing bags. I left to do errands but came back after 20 minutes as I was emailed that they were ready. When i went in I noticed that all 6 bags were on the shelf and definitely not all had been even opened. There were snickers and side glances being shared by the three employees when I was told that the items were more mature than they take. Now there were sizes 0 to 3 and s and sx in 3 of the bags some of which were from Forever 21. I mentioned that as I proceeded to carry out each of the heavy bags. It was then that someone offered to go thru the bags again. I said no and told them that I wouldn't be coming back even tho I liked the store layout better than Plato's closet in Enfield CT because it was closer to me than Springfield MA. The three girls were rude. Not one even offered to help me with the heavy bags or hold the door and I'm clearly an old lady at 79 years young.
