Trying to find a reliable, nice and affordable car for my son. This car was advertised at $8,695 so out the door should be about $9,800. When we decided to talk numbers all this sudden it was told to me the car was $9,950.. I said no wait the car is $8695 and I proceeded to show the image of the car on these site. Tony got louder and more intense tone saying something that made no sense and then said "look I'm not going to go back and forth with you on numbers" Still being interested and I don't like to argue I sat silent. Then AFTER running my credit which I NEVER approved of!!! They presented me with numbers. A random KBB page (not official) because we ran the car too and it didn't line up with his page here. Also, being concerned with the random $1,999 fee with no explanation I asked. Turns out it's the "protective tape" Placed along the door edges and behind where the door handle is. This has a "lifetime" warranty and there because those areas get "scratched" more often. For $2k?!? No, no thank you! I bet you it cost them maybe $25. I don't care I don't want to spend $2k on that. These guys are typical used car sales sleezeballs. I went to look at vehicle I "was" interested in buying. Just FYI, I already have preapproval from my credit union, and I could even buy the stupid car cash if I wanted to go with that option. This sleezeball salesman demands I come into the office after I request to test drive the car. I asked why I would need to go into the office. He told me because I had to fill out a credit application. I have purchased many cars in my time and have never had to fill out a credit app. in order to test drive a vehicle. Why would I if I already have financing, WTF! He never asked any of the right questions to determine if I even needed financing! I told him I would not be filling out a credit app. He said he couldn't let just anybody test drive a vehicle without a credit app. Which I thought was intentionally insulting. I am a customer ready to buy with money in my pocket, not just anybody. Bottom line is, a legit sales staff will treat EVERY customer that walks on their lot as ready to buy whether they are or not. We bought a used car from this dealership and only later found out that we were charged $2,000 extra for a paint protection film that nobody mentioned at any point - not the salesperson, not the finance manager, not a single person, we didn't even know it existed. There were no signs, no posters, no brochures, and no mentions of this charge anywhere in the dealership. What did we actually get for $2,000? Four 1-inch adhesive strips on the door edges, behind the handles, and a small piece on the bumper. This type of product sells for a fraction of that price. When we came back to dispute the charge, we were told: "That's what we always do - every car we sell has it." This means it's a mandatory add-on on every car they sell, yet it's nowhere in their advertised prices and nowhere in their website disclaimer. Their disclaimer lists all excluded charges - taxes, doc fees, finance charges, emissions - but dealer add-ons like this $2,000 charge are not mentioned at all. There is no way to know the real price of any car here until you're already signing paperwork. The contract is also misleading. The charge is buried on a separate page that nobody explains to you. The signing process is rushed - "sign here, sign here" - with no explanation of what you're agreeing to. Their disclaimer says it's the buyer's responsibility to verify all details - but at the time of signing, we had no way of knowing what details we were even missing. When we came back and raised the issue, we were simply told: "I don't remember not telling you about this - we always add it to every contract." We had a decent purchase but when it came to paying the down payment Achmed aka Tony asked us to zelle the 3500 down. My son brought checks but he said he'd prefer the money sent to him. With USAA, as we are a veteran family, we can only send a certain amount daily so My son sent some and my husband sent some. I asked if he takes venmo or check and he said he'd take a check but prefers venmo so he gets the money instantly. I sent $1950. He received $1912 since he has a business account and they charge business a fee. He made us pay the difference which we did in cash because at the time I didnt understand why he didnt receive the whole payment. I ended up called venmo to find out and they said that business know they get charged a fee and that the salesman basically made me pay an extra $40 to cover their business fees. I called and they offered for my son to get a detail which is priced at $150 instead of the $40. I stated we live 3 hours away and we do not come that way and on fact my son works the other direction at China Lake. I discovered the changes only after the documents were finalized. The vehicle I received was not in the condition described in the advertisement. It had major mechanical problems that were not disclosed. Within hours the car developed serious faults and warning lights. A qualified mechanic confirmed the defects were pre-existing. The cost to repair the defects was substantial. Because of the undisclosed defects and contract changes, my financial loss exceeds four figures. I believe this business knowingly sells defective vehicles. They perform quick cosmetic fixes then resell the cars as "ready to drive."
