In more importantly and why I'm writing this review, she said called several other places and the customer service was just nonexistent and this was one of the only places that seemed to have pride in their service and provide genuine customer care. A friend in Texas had a dozen red roses sent to me as a belated Birthday gift on April 3, 2026. The roses were closed and looked beautiful. I followed instructions for care and waited for the blooms to open. Only 4 blooms ever opened. I called Plantshed and spoke with Carla to let them know, and they basically brushed me off and said thank you for letting us know. That's not real customer service in my opinion. read more

Everyone I spoke with at PlantShed was wonderful and very helpful. My friend was visiting NYC from Arizona and ended up having to have emergency surgery at Cornell Medical Center. I am in Boston and felt really helpless. I called PlantShed and ordered same day flowers to be delivered. However, I accidently misspelled her name in a typo, so she was not in the hospital system. Several phone calls between me and PlantShed got if figured out. Despite my stupid typo, and taking up more of employees time, everyone was super nice, and very helpful. The flowers I ordered were delivered in four hours time. My friend was delighted (she sent me photos and they are perfectly beautiful) and so am I. My friends and I came here while visiting New York and it was so fun to walk into. Being greeted by beautiful flowers first thing in the morning paired with coffee was such a breath of fresh air. The idea of a half coffee shop and half plant store is such a fun spin on traditional coffee shop experiences around the city. There are about seven tables in the store, which was much smaller than I originally thought the place was. Many people come and go, buying either plants or coffee and it's a good place to sit and work (if you don't mind the movement of shoppers) but it's mostly quiet and less of a talking cafe. I wasn't a big fan of the ginger matcha chai option, a little watered down and too heavy on the ginger. Unfortunately, I think the idea of this shop is much better than the reality of it. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered flowers for someone in the hospital. Was told by customer service the hospital would not let the driver leave the flowers. Gave them a number of someone to call to come downstairs and got the SAME song and dance, oh we waited and called and no one picked up the phone and it's the hospital's fault. Excuses excuses excuses. I would NEVER use them again. They said they would offer a refund.....my guess is that if they're as disorganized in delivery as they are with financial transactions, I won't see a dime back. I don't like FTD and wanted to give business to a local store but this store should not be in the business of flower delivery. Sad. read more

This plant store has a variety of indoor and outdoor plants. They also have planters and the dish that goes underneath them in various sizes. They also have plant experts to help you figure what you need to take better care of your plants. The only thing I would say that I don't like is the prices. I find it a bit pricey. I may go back again if I want to gift someone a plant. read more

Most beautiful bouquets, great plants, really beautiful selection of products, lotions, vases, its such a place where everything pleases the eye, there's designer sparkling water or Bellocq teas (Le Hammeau is my fav, its caffeine free but soo satisfying with lemongrass, rose petals, lavender, orange) I actually just ordered a jar for my house. Purchased a large clay pot. The sales person had to lift several pots out and then got the larger size I wanted. She only showed me the inside and promptly carried it to the counter and started wrapping it. I got home and found a crack on the outside which really wasn't visible when looking on the inside. I phoned and spoke to customer service rep Raddhi - who acted like it was my fault. She informed me I should have checked. She said she would have a replacement pot delivered, but that it would cost me a $19 delivery fee. I asked her to check with her supervisor to see if the fee could be waived. She got back to me and said they could charge me $15 instead of the $19. Wow. The delivery guy just showed up with another cracked pot to replace the cracked pot I already had. I am sooooo disgusted. I used to like this place and have bought gifts there. Maybe Plant Shed should change their name to "Crackpots". I won't darken their door again!!! read more

Found this place on Instagram and told myself the next time I would be in NYC, I'd have to stop in. I am SO happy I did! What a treat! The coffee was in my top 5 - (might even be my #1) best macchiato I've ever had. The workers were smiling, friendly and very knowledgeable about the plants (sunlight requirement, soil, etc). The plants were in beautiful condition, every single one I looked at was well managed and had brand new leaves forming. I really can't wait to go back to the city and bring everyone I know here. If my roommate wasn't there to make sure I financially behaved (I had already bought two plants), I would've TOTALLY walked away with that HUGE fiddled leaf - call me crazy but it was a plant gals goldmine read more

Just checked out the new Plantshed location on Amsterdam Ave and I absolutely adored it! So much better than the old location on Broadway. It's much brighter and there are tons more to see. They don't have any of the "rare" stuff, but they are very well stocked with very healthy plants. They did have micans, brandiatum, raphidophora decursiva, philo burle marx, just to name a few uncommon noteworthy finds. Lots of large floor plants and beautiful huge cacti, outdoor plants/herbs/flowers, gorgeous fresh cut flowers, succulents, and small 4" plants too. They also have lots of planters, home decor, candles, etc. I thought everything was fairly priced for what you're getting. Definitely a great place to pick up a planty gift or for a Treat Yoself day lol. I will definitely be stopping by regularly read more

My husband ordered me flowers for Mother's Day, and the roses came already brown and the rest started to die within 2 days. I paid over $250 to PlantShed to send my girlfriend flowers and some truffles (accompanied by a Valentine's Day card). Firstly, two of the flowers arrived completely cut off from their stems. Secondly, the package arrived full of water and the bag of truffles was completely swimming in it. And thirdly, no card was delivered with the package. Given the price, I found this delivery service unacceptable. I would advise to do yourself a favour and not use this delivery service in the future. Update: A couple of days later, I received a very nice call from PlantShed. They not only apologized for the messed up delivery, but redelivered the same order for free immediately (and this time it arrived in perfect shape). On top of this, they promised a full refund. Although the refund has not yet been posted to my credit card (apparently it takes 7-10 business days), I have no reason to believe they will not follow through. I am actually impressed by this. I suppose every business messes up every now and then, but it is rare for the faulty side to take immediate responsibility and try to alleviate the damage to this extent. Changing my rating from 1* to 4*. I cannot give 5* due to the messed up Valentine's Day, but kudos to PlantShed for an impressive recovery! read more

A great small but quaint plant shop on the upper west side! They have multiple succulents, houseplants and outdoor plants or plant project. They have beautiful tree plants too choose from and the atomsphere is great. The workers here are very informative, as they should. I adopted an aloe vera plant as well as a zebra looking succulent; they have been healthy and happy for months! I walked into the Columbus Ave store and was - literally - treated like a criminal. Despite the store being empty, amd three employees standing around- no one greeted me, but one did ask me to put my mask on which I did. Then I made the fatal (criminal?) flaw of asking how long the mask mandate will be in effect. The clerk became very curt, and without acknowledging my presence made some obvious answer (we are private and it's our choice). Thank you clerk. When I asked her why she would not look at me she got angry, amd said I was rude ano need to leave the store. A second clerk (without any providing their names or asking what happened) all chimes in. I stood, confused. Then for no provided reason called the POLICE on me. Police came and were incredibly helpful to me amd agreed they should be reported, 311 commissioner. whatever happened to "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, how can I help you?" my head is still spinning - but on my way to way to another plant shop - which I can only bet will be a better shopping experience!! read more

This is a very beautiful shop and conceptually, looks like a really lovely place to shop and eat in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the floral shop. I came in to buy sympathy flowers for grieving friends. I was hoping to work with one of the florists to find the appropriate flowers for the occasion. I was helped by an older Caucasian woman (I never got her name): she was incredibly curt, uninterested in the details I was giving her to help me (i.e. WHAT FLOWERS DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR FOLKS WHO ARE GRIEVING!!) not to mention, horrifically insensitive and lacked empathy. The ONLY detail she cared about was price point even though I told her several times that I didn't have one (I was willing to pay whatever was needed for a lovely arrangement). But she was unrelenting and kept asking so I just named an arbitrary price to get out of the tense and uncomfortable exchange. I guess she wanted to know how much effort she needed to put it depending on how much I was paying? The arrangements turned out fine (mostly because I just made in the moment decisions/relied on my instincts to choose the flowers). It was such an awful experience to have right before seeing my friends. She should be ashamed. Absolutely not returning. read more

i cant believe it felt below 4 stars? (unless people are intentionally lying to keep this place for themselves :) ). flowershop is #1 anywhere except 27th street. Yes of course, you can break the bank and go to a boutique place that will add design and flair, but if you want to make your own nice bouquet with fresh and plenty of non-depressing-choice, that is it. They are especially nice! Almost everytime they give a little flower to my daughter, or allow her to take plenty from cut flowers they have left aside. and it s not just cut flowers, they have cute accessories and plants. And then the coffee shop!! - you can't possibly find a more welcoming ambiance than being surrounded by plants (assuming you get a table, i would not dare to try on weekend). This is not Andy McDowell's penthouse from the 90s 'Greencard' movie, but that is the closest equivalent i found in real life. - table you can use for a bit ? WiFi? restrooms? outdoor seating? for reasonable price? Wow! I thought you had to go to the midwest for that winning combination. Very rare for New York. worth the trip if you want to sit down anywhere in the vicinity. stop for a few hours, breathe, buy some flowers for your lover! I really like this place it was nice quiet and vary helpful I went to pick up two plants and I'm glad I did it was the last two left I also got some sticks to hold up my plants and my favorite part is that they make you your own bag of soil witch I thought was great because I didn't have to buy a big bag for my grandmother who is 73 and can't handle the big bags the service was nice and vary knowledgeable and if they wasn't sure they wasn't afraid to check and make sure this place is great highly recommended read more
