Yay! A charming new plant shop established roots on NE Broadway! As I was coming out of Pets on Broadway, the window filled with plants in the shop directly across the street caught my attention and I had to check it out! I put the pet supplies in my car and wandered over. Immediately upon walking in and seeing the variety of plants, a smile so big lit up my face. Even with a mask on, it was evident! Plants of all sizes in a variety of textures, shades of green, pops of color and light requirements greeted me. Tiny succulents, cactus, wispy ferns, pink anthurium, large rubber trees and palms - yep, they have it all! They even had signage indicating which plants re cat friendly; very helpful. And everything was priced so reasonably. The shop just opened around June 7th so they aren't fully stocked, but there were already so many beautiful plants at great prices, it was hard to walk out empty handed. People were coming in and out, all remarking how thrilled they were to have a plant store in the neighborhood. All walked out with a box full of plants to brighten their space. In addition to plants, they had some unique vessels, like a hand making a peace sign with an opening for a small succulent; mid-century vases with faces; rustic vases that looked like a tree stump; moss baskets and terrariums. In time they will be offering classes. Today I chose a very unique fern to put in a bright orange pot, the contrast of the lime green against the orange was a combo I couldn't pass up! The pot was $12 and the fern $7.50. Very reasonable. The cutest succulent with orange blooms that look like a goldfish (which the plant is named after) was so different, it also had to come home with me! My last purchase was a tiny spider plant and a small pot that looked like a tree stump. Love all three and they already brighten up my existing collection. BTW, this shop is owned by Pets on Broadway! They originally we're going to use this space for their aquarium fish but realized that the natural light pouring in was so good, they decided to move their plants across the street and augment this part of their business. Hence the birth of Plants on Broadway. If you are on the frequent buyer program at Pets on Broadway, purchases here combine. For every $100 spent, you earn $5. What a great benefit! Definitely stop in and visit this adorable shop! It's on the corner of NE Broadway and NE 28th in the location that was previously Pour Wine Bar, Plants on Broadway is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood! Everyone visiting the shop was genuinely surprised and happy to see this location transformed into a plant shop. With one stop at this corner of Broadway, you can stock up on pet food, buy a plant to brighten your space, and grab a donut at Coco Donuts! Now that's a winning trifecta!

We went into the store with nothing specific to buy, but we were able to find some really cool things. In addition, the person working there named Chris was really helpful and answered lots of questions from me and from my five-year-old. It definitely makes us want to buy plants and, add this to our places to shop. The store is very pretty and has lots of interesting things but it is a manageable size. I highly recommend.

    Full sun plants

Favorite plant shop in Portland Great selection of low light to full sun plants. All plants are labeled if they are pet friendly or not which makes for a very pleasant shopping experiance.

Do you sell water plants like water lillies?

Hi there, thank you for your question. We do not carry water Lilly's and I've confirmed that we cannot get them through our supplier. You can find them at Tony's Garden Center located off of SE Holgate in Portland.

What I especially appreciate at this location is their dedicated information kiosk, there's usually someone there that you can speak to about pretty much anything plant related, they're a great resource to help troubleshoot gardening issues. I also love that Portland nursery hosts different groups like the Oregon Cactus & Succulent Society throughout the year, where you can view & buy plants directly from the cultivator. Portland Nursery is fabulous all around, and I look forward to every trip!

This isn't the place you go for the cheap stuff raised in warmer climates. Second is the service. They have helper booths, and you can throw anything at them and they either can answer or find someone who can answer. Confused about if a plant is the best for a shady spot or sunny spot - they can help. Finally, it's just a wonderful place to walk. Lots of native plants, lots of trees, and the spring selection of tomatoes and veggies is to die for. Yes, it's more expensive. Yes, worth it! And the added bonus is dogs are allowed.
