It's only my second week using Planted Table but I am beyond impressed with both their customer service and their quality and selection of foods. The meals have all been delicious and have been substantial. They are able to deliver to my workplace in a timely manner and respond to my questions over text promptly. The biggest bonus that drew me to them in addition to everything that I mentioned above, has been their ability to accommodate a gluten and soy free diet! We've now had 4 deliveries over a 2-month period. Although I do still highly recommend Planted Table, I had to take down a star because of my repeated problem with their sodium content. Almost without fail, I have found all their soups to be overly salty. Not a huge problem there because I can just add some water to drown it out and lemon juice for balance. But their tofu and tempeh is always over-marinated in soy sauce too. Those are just unbearable for me to eat. My husband agrees about the saltiness, though he can still eat through it, so I end up giving him more of the meals. The fact that I'm finding some of these meals super salty week after week does concern me regarding my sodium intake. I get that vegetable-based food tends to be more bland compared to meat-based meals, but I don't think over-salting is the answer. I would rather have the freedom to add more salt on my own if I find something too bland. read more

We are new to planted table and are really loving and appreciating this service. The meals are wonderfully complex and thoughtfully put together - you can feel and taste the love that goes into them. Some of our favorite meals have been the mushroom fettuccini Alfredo and the salads. Some meals may have been slightly different than we expected, but nonetheless we so appreciate the convenience of healthy, organic plant-based food to nourish our family. I cannot say just how much we are enjoying this fresh, plant based food delivery! It has truly been life changing! We decided to go plant based to try and reduce my diabetes medications. It's really helping and I feel great! I don't know how they are able to take things like jackfruit and make it taste like pulled pork, but the chefs are magicians. With everything. We've been getting deliveries for a couple of months now - we were planning to just use the foods to get us kick started but have found that the food is so delicious, we will continue. And if I bought all of the ingredients to attempt to cook half of these dinners, it would be a small fortune! I signed up for planted table meals about a month ago, and my only regret is not having done it sooner. My husband is a dually employed software engineer while I have returned to college as a full time student. We have two socially and academically active kids still at home, one in high school the other in elementary. Needless to say I can't find enough hours in the day. Planted table claims that they save their customers 8 hours of time a week by providing meals. I beg to differ! They have saved me so much more. No meal planning, no shopping and no time spent cooking; that's A LOT of time! A bonus is that my garbage bins are never full either because did I mention they are also ZERO waste? Planted table delivers gourmet, organic, completely balanced, nourishing and delicious plant based meals to my home once a week in ready to heat glass containers. Ive tried other delivery services like purple carrot for almost a year. The amount of plastic in the packaging was overwhelming and I could literally spend up to two hours in the kitchen cooking. Short of cloning myself, planted table is just what the doctor ordered. Note that they are also woman owned which I totally dig. Planted table is so many things to feel good about and nothing to not. I couldn't be happier with Planted Table! Their meals are absolutely delicious- even with ingredients I typically don't like. I'm excited to see the menu and the new, creative meals they think up each week. A good portion of the meals can be frozen if you don't use them all that week. Their ordering/reminder system is easy to use and they are great about communicating and giving you reminders of deadlines for ordering/skipping, putting out containers and meal delivery. The ladies behind planted table deserve a metal. For feeding this very busy hungry momma! For their delicious vegan food! For their sustainable no waste business practice! I have been using the service for a month now getting 10 meals a week for lunch and dinner. They again are just super stars everything is so delish, creative, and beautiful i feel like a personal chef packed my meals. They have a great rotating menu every week so if you want something light grab one of their salads if you want something heavier and comforting yet still healthy they gotcha. Im a nursing mom and my hubby has a good appetite so I will be going for the heartier dishes. But we all still need salads in our lives. And theirs are vibrant and exciting. I do wish things could be delivered on mondays but it's not a deal breaker and easy to plan your upcoming week if you get some of the freezer friendly meals and stash them. Everything comes in beautiful reusable glass containers by wed evening in a cooler bag delivered to your door. I did admittedly hesitate for a few months before I started because of the price. But the more meals you buy the cheaper they get. And I look at it this way when I didnt have this service I was spending alot on take out and none of it was healthy. This review is probably a little belated as I subscribed to the weekly delivery service for over a year and had to interrupt, now starting again shortly. I truly hope this company NEVER becomes a victim of it's own success because right now, they have nailed it. I'm not even vegetarian, let alone vegan - but I wanted a healthier diet with more plant based protein. I tried two others that were sub par before landing with Planted Table. The owners of this company truly and deeply care about their clients well being. One of the benefits I became aware of after starting, was that they offered at no charge a 30 minute consult with a nutritionist who does not even work for the company. Planted Table contracts with her apparently. She did not push Planted Table, yet was very thoughtful and helpful about my personal diet and how to make improvements for my better health goals. I had a chocolate creme pie jumbled up in delivery one morning, and they immediately replaced it that day - it was lucky they had one extra at the kitchen. That chocolate creme pie by the way, was without a doubt the best I've ever had in my life and I don't know how they manage to do that dairy free. The meals are as if you had a personal chef cooking for you, alone. There are such thoughtful touches in the way they are put together/created. They are also believe in no waste, so everything is delivered in glass containers that you simply rinse and put back in the pack to be picked up with the next delivery. I think everyone must have their favorite dishes that Planted Table makes and it's fortunate that many are available out of the planned meal rotation so you can order them any time! After three weeks eating Planted Table I am a happy, satisfied woman. The food is extremely high quality and I have not yet encountered a meal that I have not enjoyed, love that they are not too spicy. They are creative meals, extremely fresh and expose me to new tastes and flavors. Just this week the chef caused me to fall in love with making salad with pepitas, roasted grapes, plums and figs--I've copied this recipe twice already! I'm someone who enjoys cooking but in my busy work week, was resorting to frozen Trader Joe's and a side of brocolli. Using Planted Table, as a single person I have had to freeze stuff each week, which has worked out for me well. Sometimes the meals ended up being able to be divided so I got even more out of them than I expected. The customer service is quick, via text, and I LOVE NOT WASTING CONTAINERS. I feel good about using them though the cost is more pricy than other food delivery I used. I have to say its worth it to feel better about my impact on the environment/world. By ordering extra huge orders one week (Their 10 dinner, 5 lunch plan), and freezing them for the upcoming week, I've been able to bring my price per meal down to $13 or so. Did I mention I am not vegan? Sometimes I add in a bit of cheese or an egg, but honestly, I'm impressed that they really don't need it. Totally recommend. read more

Planted Table is a local woman-owned business here in Oakland. I try to spend my money locally, and this business is the best! We're not vegan, but we try to eat plant-based. My little ones loved their plant-based kid meals. Incredibly tasty, plant based meals! I've been vegetarian my whole life, and recently started trying to eat more healthy (it's very easy to eat an unbalanced diet as a vegetarian, read: Carbs and Fat and not enough leafy greens). Planted table to the rescue! The meals read like a wonderfully inspired blog, and are the kind of food that I would aspire to cook, if I had boat loads of time! Butternut squash tamale with black beans, pepitas and lime crema is one of the meals I've recently enjoyed. They also have a kids meal each week that can be added to your delivery which includes kid favorites like mac and cheese, but with lots of sneaky veggies added in. I really, really liked this service. I used to subscribe to Blue Apron but found I couldn't manage the long cooking times, sink full of dishes, and the wasteful packaging. Planted Table was everything blue apron wasn't. The food comes precooked - you just stick it in the oven for 15ish minutes and it's ready to go. It is dropped off at your house and thoughtfully packaged in glass containers, generating zero waste. The food was super healthy and tasty with a great variety and generous portions. The only problem was that my husband and kids couldn't deal with the lack of meat and cheese. If your family is vegan, though, Planted Table is perfect. read more
