After trying a local pls e in Chatham for avocado toast and not enjoying myself, I decided to come to Planted Eats Montville. They never disappoint. I ordered the avocado toast, no onions and an added real (not vegan) egg on their veggie bread. I'm so glad I came here and ordered this. There was no residual onion taste or tastes not wanted. The egg was perfectly cooked. Ashley helped me. She was so friendly and brought me my toast. The ambiance is that of a cute cafe. The tables are made from wood. I will be back. I have been back many times. If you are vegan or gluten free, this place is for you. They do have non vegan items on the menu, hence the chicken egg. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Vegan Bacon, egg and cheese on focaccia bread and chickpea caprese toast.

YUM! We just tried this cafe for the first time and LOVED it. We had the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and the chickpea caprese toast. Both items and the coffee with oat milk were absolutely delicious. We also grabbed a mushroom stew, kimchi and tofu soup and lasagne to go! VEGANS AND NON VEGANS will love the food and atmosphere at Planted. You can tell they put a lot of thought and love into their food We highly recommend this spot.

If you want to find some great vegan/vegetarian options on Montville, then Planted is a great option! I stopped in for some breakfast and picked up a smoothie bowl - Purple Plant Power, and a Tumeric tonic. Keep in mind everything takes a bit to make, so it's not "fast food" - allow yourself extra time for them to make your food or drink. Everything was really good and pretty filling. Also, from the Tumeric Tonic, you can re-use the glass bottle that it is filled in for water or wash it out and maybe bring it back to use for your next drink order. I'll definitely be visiting again when I'm in the area.

Cute little spot. Great menu variation; juices, bowls, smoothies, sandwiches, and coffee!! If you want something healthy in the area, this is the spot.

Service was quick and attentive, and we did not feel rushed and were able to enjoy a pleasant time chatting. Drinks: the black walnut Manhattan, Fig jam old fashioned, wine , beer and port. Drinks were all excellent, i tasted the Manhattan and enjoyed it over the Fig Jam. For apps: Clams oreganato (the couple with us enjoyed this), flat bread (was much more like pizza than flat bread, but still tasty, per my husband), and on the special New England Clam Chowder which was very good, not too thick and decent and fresh clams in it. Entrees: Shrimp Risotto scampi, very flavorful Risotto cooked perfectly. Two of us ordered the Cajun Mahi Mahi, over spinach with mashed, and 2 shrimp. the Cajun sauce was tasty with the perfect amount of heat, shrimp and mahi-mahi fresh and cooked perfectly. Rigatoni Bolognese which my husband enjoyed and said it was almost as good as my Italian mother's (like a good son-in-law) lol Dessert: Crème Brûlée - Brûlée was perfect, the crème was a little too thick for me. I ate it and enjoyed it, but not the best I've had. My husband ordered the key Lime Pie happy that it did not include nuts in the crust as some do, he thought it was good. Overall we had an enjoyable albeit pricy meal with good service. I would come back if other's wanted to go but it would not be my go to place.

It is a very large restaurant with plenty of seating either in the main dining room or in the two separate dining areas. They have a great drink and wine by the glass selection and the prices are reasonable for the portion size and the quality of food you receive.
