Beware!!! I brought my English bulldog to Planned PEThood in Suwannee for vaccines and neuter. Two days later he was urinating blood. I called the office to let them know what was going on and was told since they are not a full service vet facility there was nothing they could do. The tech told me to bring him to a vet that he could have an infection and then quickly added that he probably came in with an infection. I brought him to a vet the following morNing. I was told that something was probably introduced during surgery that caused him to have a urinary tract infection. while I did save money on the neuter I spent it in the long run at my vets office fixing what an incompetent vet/techs at planned PEThood did to my dog. Be aware that you are taking a risk by using their services and they will not compensate for any injury/illness or even admit they did anything wrong!!! read more

I am so glad I found out about this place! The people who work here are lovely and professional! I took my cat here to get neutered and saved hundreds of dollars here vs. having the same procedure done at my normal vet's office. The price of pharmaceuticals for flea treatments here are also 1/3 of what I paid at my vet's office. This place has amazing value for money. Shots of various kind here are around $10 per shot. The same shot at my vets office is $30-50 per shot. You will save yourself a ton of money by getting basic needs like shots and neutering done here. I had such a wonderful cat neuter experience here. My cat was neutered on a Tuesday morning and he came home just a few hours later. Before proceeding, the vet called me to say that my cat has a heart murmur and wanted my permission to proceed. Afterwards, I was allowed to bring my cat back the next day bc I had a question and wanted a check up. They allowed it for no fee. My cat recovered in only 5 days and was completely back to his normal energetic self after 24 hours after the procedure. I also really appreciated that they gave my cat a cloth-cone of shame and it wasn't hard plastic. It was far more comfortable than the usual kind. I've been recommending this place to all my friends with pets! read more

We took our healthy kitty to get spayed here. I opted to have pre op bloodwork which was $65 to make sure she was ok for surgery. She stopped breathing and her heart stopped from the anesthesia (as we were told over the phone). I don't know how long she was down. They told us they don't keep records like that. They called me and asked if I'd like for them to try to save her? YES! This was our healthy family pet and she was only 1. 45 minutes later they called and said they got her back to breathing. Please come get her. When we got there they handed her to us in her carrier and escorted us OUTSIDE before saying anything. The tech said we can stand here and chat but you need to get her to the vet ER now. We left without a sheet of paper that explained what was done. We had to pay $1000 to try to save our cat. She didn't make it. The brain damage was extensive. She was blind and seizing. Couldn't eat, drink, or stand. While she was dying they called me to ask for the $65 payment for the bloodwork. They offered $250 towards our vet bill at the ER which was almost $1000 after we paid to put her down and cremate her. No one called to explain what happened toWe had to drive there to have someone speak to us. Do not take your pets here. They effectively killed our cat, did not reach out with an explanation, asked us to pay for bloodwork for our dead cat, and offered $250 towards a $1000 bill. Oh and 30 minutes after we left they sent a mass text with a picture of a kitty wishing us a relaxing thanksgiving. Incredibly tone deaf. My kids are devastated and so are we. Save yourselves the heartache of loosing your pet. They showed no regard for ours and only called to ask us for money. Not even to explain what happened. And please don't reply to this to try and make it better planned PEThood because you can't. This was so poorly handled. Do better. read more

They were very friendly people and took care of my baby Luna. She's a very nervous baby but they went slow and carried her carefully to the back. When we got her back they told us how to take care of her and answered all my questions. Make sure to bring in the cone at check in or else you have to pay a $10 cone. It's a good cone quality but Luna slipped out in the first 5 minutes of the car ride and luckily we had our own. The prices include the pain meds for the next few days. They called the next day to check in and have said we can call with any concerns. I was worried that the low cost would mean low quality but that was not the case. Ordinarily, I wouldn't write a negative review because I know how this can affect a business. However, I was so annoyed when I took my Lab/Shepperd mix there for his last vaccination. This is a large dog. I told the person taking him back he was skittish and that I could go back with him. But they insist I stay in the lobby. The short of it is he wouldn't let them give him the shot. So, they came back and got me to be with him. The person (assistant or doctor, I'm not sure) yelled out, "that dog is a lawsuit waiting to happen!" She was annoyed but I was more upset at her tone and words and raised my voice to match hers. "No, he will not cause a lawsuit!" He was fine when I stood beside him. I will never visit this office on a weekday again. The weekend staff is much friendlier tend to listen to the customer. read more

We brought in our young male cat to get neutered on a Tuesday. They did the procedure and we were noticed he had an emergency during the recover period. Two days later my cat wasn't eating, his breathing was shallow and he couldn't even stand. We called Planned Pethood and they told us to go visit, once they saw him they said he needed to see another vet because he was in an emergency. And unfortunately 8 hours later, our cat passed away. We knew it was a cheaper option but if we knew it would have costed the life of our cat, we would have never chose this place. Not to mention the amount of complications from previous reviews and deaths were overwhelming. Overall: it's worth paying the extra buck. read more

Since being referred here by a friend a few years back to get a dog vaccinated and neutered that we found abandoned I discovered that they do shot clinics that offer more than just shots! Meaning super friendly staff that cater to the needs of our "family" since we do have a six pack of rescues many having there own special needs so it can be costly. The veterinarian does a thorough check up and we have been so pleased with the services here. I always grab a few business cards at the desk and hand them to my friends. I did get some at an event that had 5% off one time. Hey every bit helps. So I have my regular vet that we see but as for vaccinations this is it! My pet was to have a common medical procedure and was reassured during the surgery that my pet was fine but because of neglect and veterinarian malpractice, my pet died shortly after surgery in post-op. I am hiring an attorney; reporting this business to the IRS for fraudulent tax returns; filing with the Georgia Veterinary Board a complaint on the veterinarian; punitive and other damages, including pain and suffering. They failed to tell us that this dog was too young for such a procedure. See you in court, Elizabeth Burgner and veterinarian Dr. J. This will not be small claims court. Wonderful place! The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, the office is clean and comfortable and the services are affordable. I would recommend Planned PEThood to anyone who needs to spay or neuter their animal but doesn't want to deal with a traditional vet's office, where prices are higher and the people aren't always as courteous. On that note, they gave our three cats a complimentary flea treatment after their spay surgeries and that was a great finishing touch. They also provide a one year Rabies vaccination with each surgery. Thank you much, Planned PEThood! I would say I'll be back but I don't plan on taking in any more cats if I want to keep my sanity! This clinic engages in unethical practices as it relates to heartworm testing. I brought my pet here for a heartworm test on their vaccine clinic day and waited hours to get vaccines plus a heartworm test. Upon completion of my test and vaccines, I was given a receipt but no heartworm medication prescription. When I finally realized I needed a prescription I called this clinic to inform them that I never received a prescription. They informed me that since more than a month had passed since my test and I had not ordered any heartworm medication, they would not be giving me a prescription. They stated that is their policy. How would I order heartworm medication if I was never provided a prescription?? If this is in fact their policy why wouldn't that be on the receipt? Why would they let me leave the office without a prescription in my hand or a prescription emailed to me? Very unethical practice. I would not recommend. read more
