Planned PEThood has truly been a lifesaver for my family and our pets. While our regular vet is still important for primary care, Planned PEThood is hands-down our go-to for flea and tick prevention, deworming, and spay/neuter services. We drive over an hour to get there because they've consistently proven themselves to be trustworthy- not just to us, but to friends as well. The staff is always welcoming, kind, and clearly love what they do. Most importantly, our pets come home calm and comfortable, like nothing stressful ever happened. We're incredibly grateful for this team. Thank you all so much.

Planned PEThood has been a lovely establishment! My dog Rigby got neutered there and received wellness check. Their staff are always helpful, affordable and knowledgeable. Rigby and I appreciate planned pethood!

A few days ago I took my pup in to be neutered. Their process is to have you drop your pet off at 7am and pick them up at a specified time. When you arrive in the morning someone goes over your paperwork ( completed online) to confirm everything is correct. Later in the day you receive your pets paperwork and an e-bill. When you arrive to pick up your pet an employee comes out to let you know what to expect et cetera. Everything they tell you is given to you in a report from your pet's visit. They also offer visits for vaccinations.

A pregnant cat appeared at my door right before the winter cold snap. I didn't realize the cat was pregnant until a week ago. Many resources in Atlanta turned me away and offered no help. Planned PEThood got me an immediate spay the very next day. The staff is so helpful and professional. Location is close to highways. Amazing facility. We spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and e-collar-ed for $135. Cat is doing very well!

I just had my Pug Greta spayed here. They did an amazing job. The staff was friendly and organized. Which made me feel comfortable with leaving my fur child for her surgery. Communication was on point and this place fair and affordable. I will continue to donate and bring my fur kids here for their shots and nail trims. Thank You!!

The wellness center is great for vaccinations. I have a kitten going through the series of vaccines and Planned PEThood makes it affordable and easy. After getting her shots, the vet sat with me for a little bit to go over kitten care 101 which was greatly appreciated as a new cat owner.

We had a pretty rough experience at our 1st choice to take our 2 pups to. THANKFULLY Planned PEThood was our next choice! 100% a different experience. FAST, Efficient, thorough, and great followup emails and communication. Did I mention AFFORDABLE!? I appreciate you all tremendously!

Has anyone spaded there dog AND vaccinated her at the same time? I have a 4 month old and want to get her vaccinations at the same time but don't know if it's safe.

Yes! It is typically considered safe to have your animal vaccinated while here for surgery. We are happy to perform vaccines during surgery anytime. Visit the website for a complete listing of what we offer and prices.

The spay I paid for was a fraction of the cost at a traditional vet.

The emergency hospital had given him a fever-reducing shot that was supposed to last 24 hours. When we arrived at Tiger Tails first thing the next morning, we clearly told the staff and doctor about this and that it had only been 12 hours since it was given. The doctor took his temperature, did a quick checkup, and said he was fine -- then sent us home. We had pleaded that it was strange he wasn't eating or drinking and he was vomiting with hints of blood, but she kept insisting that he may have just ate something bad or just elder dog symptoms. Just 13 hours later, my dog passed away. I trusted Tiger Tails to take our concerns seriously and to monitor him properly after everything he had been through, but I feel that they dismissed his condition too easily. I am heartbroken and will never forget how this was handled. Please be cautious and make sure your pet gets the thorough care they deserve.

Very early on she started developing a cough and then wheezing, and then runny nose and I was so concerned I couldn't wait two more days for my already scheduled vet apt with another place. I called Tiger tails as soon as they opened this morning and I spoke with Jordan, and she was so unbelievably kind and helpful. She worked her butt off to get us in as early as possible, and even called me back twice to offer two earlier times, which we took. As soon as we got there we were greeted with super friendly staff. They led us to our excluded room (because of the cough) and every single vet tech and vet that came in was amazing. They were so gentle and loving to my baby, and explained everything they were doing. She did a thorough examination, asked questions, and determined it was kennel cough and sent me off with two different meds. I am a pretty anxious person when it comes to illnesses, especially since this is my first dog I personally own, but they were so welcoming and understanding, putting me at ease. I am SO glad I ended up going here, and will be going back for all her future shots/check ups. Thank you to the entire staff that helped me and my baby today!!

This is my second 5 star review. I would be *very* careful reading the negative reviews about this…read moreanimal hospital and believing them. I have been with them for 4 or 5 years and they have consistently, and happily bent over backwards to make sure that my dog is receiving the best care, and that I feel safe and comfortable with all of their decisions. Aside from stellar routine primary care, my dog has had eye surgery with them, they've cared for him for a puncture wound when he got bit by another dog, for a paw infection, and recently, they helped me make some very important decisions regarding his care following a disc extrusion. I would *never* ever accept anything but top of the line care for my dog. I drive from Atlanta to Duluth because they're that great. Dr. Stewart is my dog's primary care vet - she is so thorough, and thoughtful, and intelligent. I truly trust her and her clinical decisions. She makes me feel like my dog (who is truly the love of my life) is so safe and in the best hands possible. Further! I just read a negative comment by someone who was foul-mouthing Amber. In my opinion, she is an absolute treasure. She checks in on me and Brooklyn even when she doesn't have to (outside of the normal follow-up communication), she has the best disposition with the animals she sees, she genuinely cares for these animals and gives them so much love. She is thoughtful, kind, and so so so good at what she does. ALSO - THIS PLACE DOES NOT OVERCHARGE YOU. I. Don't. Care. What. People. Say. On. These. Comments. I have had other vets before who charge much more, my friends pay much more for their dogs for equivalent medications and visits. Medications I have received here are even cheaper than anywhere you can google, like Chewy. Again, I would be very careful reading comments by disgruntled and unreasonable people - and making a judgement on this animal hospital based on those comments. I whole-heartedly believe you will be preventing your animals from receiving the best care they can get if you let these 1 stars impression you.

My husband brought my 9 year old chihuahua in for a check up, and she had protein in her urine. Enough that it was a point of concern for the veterinarian. When the labs were returned, the vet called me at 830am to discuss the findings. After speaking for almost half an hour, the vet was still not done explaining the condition of my dog and the care plan we needed to follow. She excused herself saying that she needed to prepare for her day and that she would call me again after she was done to finish the conversation. I am thinking to expect her call around 5 because that's when most offices close. When I never got a return call around that time, I just assumed she would call me back the next day or something. I really wasn't all that worried because we were discussing an existing condition for my dog. I get a phone call past 9pm!! I feel terrible for this lady. She has clearly been working for over 12 hours, and she is still taking the time to call me as she had promised. That is absolute dedication! It's definitely nice to feel like we are cared about.

I have one concern: Ivy Hill Animal Hospital does not seem to want to take dogs with special needs,…read morelarger breeds, or ones that are lab/boxer/pit mix. On my first visit there years ago, I was working for a company that delivers to their place. Back then, they were hesitant to accept my dog, but (I believe) that because I saw them most days for business, they allowed it. I haven't been back to the office in a few years and have since loss rapport with them. I was told today (April 2024) that since my dog requires sedatives prior to his annual shots (just like he did on my last visit there), and because they "haven't seen him," they will not allow him to ever be seen at the office. I asked, "Is this true even if he was a patient a few years ago (because he was seen there before)" The reply was, "yes." After, the receptionist quickly got me off the phone by referring me to "Urgent Vet." When asking for their phone number, I was told, "You can find that on your own at their website." In summary, Ivy Hill Animal Hospital has a clean location, and when they know you, the staff seem kind. But any veterinary clinic that is unwilling to work with a particular dog breed or dogs with special needs, is not one worthy of a good review.
