In September 2023, I was assisted by manager Gilbert in choosing a Blind Spot Monitor system for my automobile; it was installed with no issues. Nine months later, the system died. Brought a 2002 Chevy Silverado LS 1500 in for a simple speaker wire job February of 2025. It already had 2 subs, compatible amp, and fip-out in-dash stereo installed so how hard could it be adding 4 door speakers and rear camera that were brought in, right? #HOLYAIRBALL was I wrong! By June, wires hanging between my tailgate & truck bed bound by electrical tape now flap like a caution sign from the tow hitch, the microphone wire covering that was mounted to my dash for hands-free calling was stripped from continuous removal, all my speakers including subwoofers short out if I turn the volume up to listening volume, but most importantly, Gilbert Garcia (the apparent owner) was defensive, argumentative, rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to admit responsibility EVEN after I produced a receipt he was adamant that he needed to mansplain his lack of integrity in order to fix the subpar install. My teenage nephew would've done more professional work and for far less than the $300 in labor Planet Stereo charged! For that much money, the least the shop could've done was properly balance the stereo system highs, lows, crossover frequency, etc. Never never never again will I return! read more

Highly recommend Planet Stereo. I found Planet Stereo through Yelp quotes and Gilbert was the first to respond. He was not only the first one to respond but also very responsive and prompt in addressing all of my questions. I visited Planet Stereo a few days after exchanging messages via Yelp and Gilbert was very transparent with the pricing and options available to me. He explained the pros and cons of each pricing options and never did I feel the pressure from him to buy the most expensive one so I was thankful for that. The install took about 1.5 hrs and Apple Carplay worked great but the steering wheel odometer and temperature button would not work. Gilbert calmly assured me that he will look into it and that he'd contact me once he found a solution. The next day, he called me to set up a follow up appointment and ended up coming back a few days later to get the steering wheel button fixed. I was extremely impressed by the accountability and assurance to get the issue resolved by Gilbert and Planet Stereo technician. Even when they ran into an issue, they did not panic but diligently researched and found a solution to correct the problem. Thank you for honoring your commitment to customer satisfaction. The speakers in my car were blown out so I decided to come to Planet Stereo because of the good reviews they had. I was looking for a small upgrade to the stock speakers I had, as well as an amplifier. I had a small idea of what I wanted, but I wasn't 100% sure and was hoping to get some recommendations because I have never done this before. One of the first things I noticed when I went in was the pushiness of the sales people. I came in for a quote and when I tried going outside to compare it with other businesses, he immediately came up to me to try negotiating with me and making "deals" to try to pressure me to stay. I wasn't forced to stay, but I didn't expect to feel like I was at a car dealership for wanting to get some new audio equipment. I know he was just doing his job but I wish he was a bit more helpful in regard to choosing something for my car rather than seeming desperate to make a quick sale off of me. Despite this, I chose to go ahead with them. I got my speakers and amp installed and everything sounded good. The next day, however, I started hearing a slight static sound on my tweeters and front speakers whenever my music was paused. I got an appointment a few days later to get it looked at and hopefully fixed, but the installer was not very helpful. All he did was tell me that everything was fine and that I just needed to turn down my volume. Besides the slight static I still hear when my music is paused and at low volume, the new upgrades to my car were decent for the budget I provided. The staff was also kind for the most part. For these reasons, I'm giving an additional star. However, I did not feel comfortable coming here as a person who is just starting to get into the world of car audio. I am also unsure if I even got the best setup for my budget or if I was taken advantage of, as I didn't receive a full itemized price breakdown.
