Gotta love a fish and chip restaurant with tables and wine! This is the full packages. You can select fish and seafood from the fresh fish counter right at the front and either have them cook it for you or you can take it home and do it yourself. They have all the usual menu items plus a few extras.
It's in a nice location and has a pleasant modern feel. Plus it's well heated which is important in the middle of a Melbourne winter. Brr!
My first encounter with the waitress was a bit confused but hey, it was a Sunday and all the staff were super friendly generally.
Right, now to the food. I ordered the fish of the day, grilled. It was Blue Grenadier and very tasty if a little watery. My friend had two dim sims, steamed and two potato cakes. I tried a little of each but wasn't really impressed. The dimmies were huge which was nice, and the filling tasted right however, the casing was too thick. This could be a personal preference thing.
The potato cakes were ok but as my friend said, not greasy enough. Again, this could be personal preference.
But still this is a nice restaurant that I might try again sometime.
Nice, although I certainly wouldn't call it high end by any stretch. read more
