Hands down, unequivocally, beyond question the best fish & chips is this part of town.
The restaurant is immaculately clean. The fish is fresher than Craig Mack. The staff is faster, more friendly and more efficient than...uh, something ridiculously fast, friendly and efficient.
Properly frying food is a science. Time, temperature and technique dictate the difference between soggy/greasy and crispy/light. They have mastered the process and the results are evident in their products. This was particularly noticeable upon eating a piece of fried flake that my son couldn't finish approximately 2 hours after he'd ordered it. The batter was still crunchy and light, which is something I've rarely encountered with fried food.
They also act a fish monger, selling fresh seafood at a reasonable price. Additionally they just relocated to a larger shop, and added a noodle bar. As far as the noodles go I've only had the hokkien mee so far as I figured it would be a good baseline and I'm pleased to report it was very good. This is my go-to fish and chips in Chelsea and I'm hoping it becomes my go-to noodle joint too. read more
