I was also made to add a co-signer which I don't need, they stated since I live out of state they just needed someone for registration purposes. It wasn't until after I saw they put the "co-signer" as the buyer. Had to tell them to switch it. After 6+ hours of being there I wanted to cancel before finally completing everything because I felt uneasy, but they wouldn't let me. All they said was, "I'm sorry you're unhappy". I called about a White 2018 Explorer they had online and requested a price quote with the fees etc. It came and was wholly incomplete, did not include sales tax or fee breakdown. I called back asking questions about financing, what banks they use etc and Elizabeth J couldn't answer these questions. She said a manager would call me and never did. A few weeks later, the car was removed and reintroduced on the website for a higher price at the start of November. I watched it fall in price and then called again and spoke to Elizabeth. Told her no one ever called me and wanted to deal with a separate rep. She said she would personally walk it over to a manager and have them call me. Nothing happened. I bought a pre owned car on Saturday, made a big downpayment, but was told that the finance department went home already and I have to come back on Monday to sign the paperwork. On Monday I got the phone call from the manager, Danny O Boye, saying that the finance department is on a holiday till Wednesday, can I come then. I made an appointment for 6 pm Wednesday. I came in for routine service, with an 8:30am appointment made a few days prior. I was told explicitly over the phone that an 8:30 arrival would be "perfectly fine, we don't get busy until 9am" and that the wait time shouldn't be too long. On arrival, I noticed numerous other customers in the waiting area who appeared to have been waiting for quite some time. In fact, my routine service took a total of almost 4 hours. Over two hours for completion of the Multi-Point Inspection (which had been performed in the past few months anyway). Aside from the routine oil change, there were 2 recommended procedures from the service manager, each priced at around $260. I was persuaded to have the Fuel Injection cleaning/flushing--largely influenced by the mindset of "I've waited this long, I might as well get it done." Upon later investigation, I discovered that this particular service is, in fact, NOT recommended by the manufacturer. In fact, it was explicitly termed an "unnecessary maintenance procedure"; any fuel injector issues should be addressed by replacement of that part. Additionally, my vehicle has less than 27,000 miles on it, and is in good working condition. I do not appreciate the on-the-spot pressure to have this unnecessary service completed, and CERTAINLY not for the price of almost $300 (with tax) and the loss of an entire morning. I cannot keep wasting my time and money at this dealership; please don't do the same with yours. read more

We Bought a used 2011 Mini Cooper here and realize that used cars may have some issues. However, upon driving the car home a strong smell of gas and burning oil upon inspection the oil cap was missing and oil was spewing all over the engine compartment, when calling to complain about the negligence they did the right thing and had us bring the car to a local shop to clean everything up. Within a month the car started losing all power and check engine light came on, faulty fuel pump1800$ repair, again older used car I get it, however the mechanic did a full inspection and I was informed that it needs shocks and struts, valve cover gasket, oil filter gasket and the 80k tune up. This is ALOT of things to miss and when we call the staff is happy to tell us how many cars they sold that day....maybe they are good for new cars but I would never buy a car or do business with this dealership again. read more

This is our experience from this 4.6-star dealership with 12,000 reviews in Google. (1) Received an internet quote with $3,100 discount but $899 document fee. Confirmed thru phone that the quote does not require any package or extended warranty. (2) Upon arrival they did NOT honor the quote immediately, charging me $995 appearance package and $1,400 ceramic coating. (3) I pushed back and somehow they managed to remove those so-called "pre-installed" packages. (4) Provided me a new quote which charged the $1,325 destination fee TWICE. I pointed out and the sale manager Nick lost temper, took away our printed out internet quote, forced us out yelling "Have a nice day" repeatedly on our faces. I made an appointment for 7/8/23 to visit Planet Honda on RT 22 dealer to test drive a specific Honda Civic vehicle, and confirmed the day before the vehicle was in stock and on the lot. We arrived and my 17 year old daughter test drove the car - and loved it. The salesman (Cesar) indicated he would need to 'clean up the car' before we took possession of it - a clear indication the car was available to be sold. We then proceeded to his desk, where the negotiation was difficult based on the online quote I was shown and what he was proposing. We got to a point where he then brought out a sales manager - who in passing said 'we will have to order you a car since this one was sold'. He literally just dropped that into the conversation. It was infuriating. I spent 90 minutes at the dealership....test drove a car, wanted the car and was prepared to strike a deal for the car lease, and then told that the car was never even available. Never told until after we were close to a deal. Total bait and switch!!! The sales manager then says the same car we want should be available in a few weeks and he will honor the deal we struck. The salesman Cesar tells us we will get a call every Friday with updates until the car is in. That was 4 weeks ago and we have not received a single call or email since that day. Worst experience I have ever had at a dealership in over 30 years (and that was my daughters very first car buying experience). Not only did they try to convince me to run my credit (Obviously I declined) they added an additional 10k worth of fees to the total car cost. They told me I had to get lojack (it's not optional FYI at their dealership) They expected me to pay 36k for a base model accord........If you don't mind or don't care about the additional fees & taxes they include then this dealer is for you. They even brought their finance manager over to ask me "why did I choose financing through my credit union" ...for situations like this sir. #PlanetHonda Yesterday my husband and I went to Planet Honda on Route 22 in Union NJ to look at vehicles. We decided to leave a down payment on a credit card for a vehicle to arrive in March. I thought Carlos was helpful, he always referred to God and recited Bible verses. He gave me a form to fill out to declare my deposit and place my credit card information. Today I received a fraud alert on that rarely used credit card totaling close to $600 for golf supplies. We don't golf in this house. I called #PlanetHonda and spoke to a receptionist explained what happened and said I need to speak with someone immediately. She sent me to a voicemail where I left a message, I called back and she said Pepe was not available and he is the manager, sent again to voicemail. I called and text Carlos and he never called me back.. just sent a text asking me if I called my bank. In retrospect... why wasn't my credit card swiped or inserted into a machine? Is it customary in the 21st century to be handwriting this information? If the customer is spending over $40k on a vehicle wouldn't you reach out to them? Would you continue to do business with them? Do not trust these people. The guy at the desk tried to upsell me on maintenance that was not needed, signing me up for replacing transmission fluid at just 25k miles and a worthless EFI service and differential flush. I took a hard line and stuck to the Maintenance Minder guidance. Unfortunately, after everything was completed, I double checked the bill and I was overcharged. I alerted the desk attendant and he corrected it before I paid. Just generally ew, treated me like I was a piggy bank to shake money loose from rather than a customer with a long term relationship. I am temporarily here for work and had a catastrophic car issue, and they got me in right away with no appointment. I came in late on a Friday, which is like the worst possible time. They covered ride share costs and made sure I was taken care of. More than that, they worked on my car on a weekend (which I know they didn't have to!) and it was ready the next day. Terrible experience. Called at 10:15 am ask about a cars availability. Told it's there and ready to be test driven. Get there at 11:00 test drive the car like it enough to discuss pricing etc. Then suddenly it's "sold" they told us somebody called and put a deposit over the phone in the 45 minutes from when I called and test drove it which just doesn't seem very likely. Eventually they agreed to put that deposit aside and let us negotiate in the end. I think we got a decent deal but as a whole, the dealership was atrocious, terrible communication and they just don't respect your time as the customer. buying a car should never take 6 1/2 hours. read more

Planet Honda, where a routine 90 minute A1 oil change appointment turns into a multi-hour, hundreds of dollars experience! This has happened to me two times recently. Today I was one of the first ones to arrive in the morning and did not leave until 4.5 hours later. They should have told me I will have to take the day off of work to get this service done. My car was running fine but they discovered issues upon further inspection (B.S.). And over the summer, similar experience, but 5 hours and over $1k charged for "necessary" work. Scare tactics to get you to agree to the payment. Took hours longer than originally estimated, even though I was one of the first customers of the day. I had originally had a lease on my car and the experience as a leaser was very pleasant and efficient. Then, when the lease ended I decided to buy the car. At that point it became a "used" car and then the nightmare with this place began. One of the most unpleasant car buying experiences I've ever encountered. They even admitted they were being jerks and basically were like "oh well, here's a cup of coffee for your trouble." Even though I have a maintenance agreement I may ditch it and have my car serviced elsewhere. Are all Honda dealers like this, or is it just Planet Honda? Terrible experience. I called twice before my appointment to confirm the details in the leasing special Planet Honda had advertised. The research specialist I spoke with quoted me the price in the leasing special both times. When we arrived, we waited an hour and a half to test drive a car. We hadn't even begun to talk numbers. I mentioned the leasing special at least half a dozen times to our sales rep and the manager, both of which confirmed the terms of the special. After scrambling to find the right model and trying to find gas, they ended up letting us test drive whatever model they had available. When we returned from the test drive, I confirmed that I wanted the car. I signed my name on a blank piece of paper stating I wanted it at the leasing special price. The sale rep huddled with his managers, and the financing manager returned to our desk with a quote way beyond the advertised price. We said we can't pay that. I signed my name again for a lower price. He went back to his crew of managers and returned again with yet still a higher price. He wouldn't negotiate from there. So we left. I understand the role-playing that must happen to purchase a new car, the chit-chat and deal-making. I understand the undisclosed fees that appear after a verbal agreement has been made. I've purchased many cars before. However, professionalism and consideration make that process bearable. This was, on the other hand, unbearable. We were there for two hours and nothing happened, and every sales rep was either confused, too self-important, or insincere to make a sale. We went right next door to the Nucar dealership, where we had plenty of cars to choose from at a reasonable price and with responsible professionalism. read more
