After a year of trying to cancel my membership at this gym I actually got it cancelled today. The customer support line was not helpful either telling me that I would have to come to my gym till they cancelled it. Since last February I have been coming here to cancel it but till now I was not able to get the proper treatment. Every month I have been trying to cancel it but either the manager was out every time or a trainee was trying to help me cancel it. Today I was finally able to get proper confirmation that it was cancelled for sure, through a help of an employee Cristian, who was very sweet and kind. I finally received an email that they finally sent me that it shows that my membership has been cancelled. read more

This location is sufficient. What I like about Planet Fitness is that it's pretty reasonable ($20 a month for the membership to use any location), and they have quite a few locations, which makes it easier for me to fit it in. It's not fancy but it's a decent atmosphere. I don't love the huge ceiling fans. One thing that annoys me is that I went Saturday and this location was suddenly under construction and closed until Friday. They claim that there were signs up, but I always look for signs indicating upcoming changes to hours. Apparently an email went out, but only to anyone that signed up for a membership at this location. read more

Extremely disappointed with the facility's maintenance and staff behavior. Equipment is often broken for weeks with no sign of repair, and restrooms are dirty and poorly stocked. Repeated complaints to the staff are either ignored or met with attitude. There's clear negligence, no accountability, and zero urgency in resolving hygiene or safety concerns. Definitely not the "Judgement Free Zone" they advertise--it's more like a "Customer Service Free Zone." read more

I noticed they do not respond to one-star complaints. Same as other complaints, they charge late fee but never notify you there is a problem with your banking information. Spoke to Eric and he kept repeating the same thing over and over. Asked to speak to a manager he said "I will have our regional manager call you." Never did. read more

The staff was friendly and they all had on their masks. However over half of the people in the gym didn't. I asked a staff member if wearing a mask was required and he said not when working out. The 30 min circuit area was empty so I had a good uninterrupted work out in there by myself with my mask on. read more

Joined 1/04/24 signed up for the $24.99 membership so I could take advantage of the hydro massage beds. Of course they mentioned they have 6 hydro massage beds and 2 massage chairs when I did a one day trial. However since I've joined 5 out of 6 of the hydro beds are inoperable/not working. So there's a line to use them. After one (number 6) breaking on me today I asked to downgrade my membership from $25.99 to $9.99 since I don't tan and this is the only location I visit. Without the hydro massage beds working there's no point for me to $24.99. I was told there is $49 downgrade fee. Absolutely a horrible policy these are franchised so I know this isn't the experience everyone has. I was told there is a promotion "lucky me " so I only have to pay $1 to downgrade. Don't get the $24.99 plan at this location if you're like me and want to use the hydro beds regularly. Also no one monitors the 30 minute circuit training section which is the area I wanted to use the most. People sit back there on there phones for 20 minutes daily and not once has someone said anything to them. Staff is always at the desk so there's no visibility of the area. read more

This is the worst gym ever. The staff are extremely unprofessional, and need to be educated with more information regarding the gym that they work for. I was charged $10 and an additional $58 fee for canceling my gym membership. I spoke to "Marques" and he told me that Planet Fitness would NOT charge me for a cancellation fee. I was charged a $58 fee for the cancellation. Whenever I called him back he told me he had no control over that. I'm angry with how unprofessional this man is and he shouldn't be working at this gym if he doesn't know how the system works. This gym was also always dirty and smelt horrible. do NOT bother getting a membership here all of the staff are unprofessional and have no idea what they're doing. read more

This is a very DISHONEST business and if I could give zero stars I would. My daughter was charged late fees due to the fact that her bank account number was entered incorrectly by an associate named Patrick who also happened to enter her email incorrectly. In less then two months from signing up she realized she had higher charges that she as expecting. They already charged her 3 late fees totaling $45 even though they had an alternate payment method and they are the ones that draw the money! She received no notification about the bank problem. Planet Fitness was conveniently and without the concern charging her regular fees + late fees. The manager of this local branch Kendall was not helpful at all and blamed the problem on the system but was not willing to make any adjustments. After a long discussion he agree to credit only one late fee. Beware! I do not recommend this place at all! read more

I switched to the Milton location when I moved to Alpharetta last year. I like this location sooo much better than the Smyrna location I went to before. The staff is always friendly when I come in and the gym is always clean. I never have an issue with it being crowded and overall the other gym goers are courteous with personal space and equipment. I also noticed this location has a personal trainer which I've not seen before at other locations I've been to. May schedule with him soon! read more

Been a member for a few months now. The gym itself is relatively clean and I like that the machines and equipment are all readily available even during busy hours. But if I have to complain it would be about the lunk alarm. I get that PF doesn't want someone dropping weights and acting all macho. However, sometimes the staff would press on the lunk alarm randomly and let it ring for like a split second when obviously no one is being a lunk. It just makes me more self conscious and sometimes makes me think I am being watched and "judged" by the workers as well as the other members (because they immediately look to the free weights section to see who is being a lunk) in a "judgement free" zone. PF workers... Please stop ringing the lunk alarm randomly for fun. I would get startled sometimes and I just might drop a weight on my foot from being surprised. But over all a good gym for its price. And I think a big contributing factor to why it is a good gym is because of its members. They are all polite and wipe down equipment after use and re-rack the weights. read more

People don't think the rues apply to them and refuse to wipe down the machines when they're done. I end up cleaning the machines before and after each use, yuck! read more

This facility is good. The monthly membership of Planet Fitness is very cheap compared to other businesses of same category. I have chosen their standard monthly membership. The staff at the entry is always polite and welcomes you. If I have any questions, they are always there to help me out. The facility overall has good equipment. Depending on the time you go, there could be limited to no rush. Late evenings tend to be less crowded. They have good parking space as well. read more

If i could give no stars, I would. I was happy with this gym until today... (black card member for about 9 mos). The front desk manager, Kimberley, came over to me, my husband and cousin and called us out by FULL NAMES and accused us of "outside training" because my cousin helped correct my husband on improperly using a machine. (note: my husband does not workout as much as my cousin and I, so he's not the most fluid person on gym equipment). She then tried to argue with us, and we told her we need to take this aside and discuss privately (not right there in the middle of the gym). We asked her what was the problem, and apparently my cousin correcting my husband was a big problem... So at this gym, if you are improperly using a machine, well, good luck to you, because if anyone tries to help correct someone on that, it constitutes "outside training" and well... they can't have that in their "judgement free zone" lolol that is such a crock, because all they do is judge you. if you know something about how to work out, save it, you'll get judged as an "outside trainer." if you even look remotely muscular, hide it, you probably won't get a membership here because you don't fit their profile. I can't say the same for their other locations, since we have been able to workout with no issues, but this one i can tell you definitely judges. Needless to say, we cancelled on the spot today - no one needs to be talked to that way - or judged. read more

Facilities are nice but they need to have both sexes on duties at all time so your not waiting an hour to go in bathroom! One of the workers said you can go in locker room even though signs say male worker in locker room. I don't want to change my clothes and shower with a strange male in the locker room!!! If I could give 0 stars I would! I have had the WORST customer service from Frazer & Charles. They are supposedly managers there and dont handle situations professionally or responsibly. They double billed our bank account for monthly fees and the following month charged my account when they werent supposed to and caused a spiral of charges from bank. I called to get it handled and Charles hung up on me and Frazer never ONCE called me back!! I am canceling my membership DUE to these two incompetent employees. I will be calling and emailing corporate, putting a complaint in to better business bureau and will give them bad reviews on every webpage possible!! Livid! read more

This week I was in the Alpharetta area for business and it was a day off from running so I found this PF location being closest to my hotel for a core workout. I have been a PF member for 15 years and have seen many locations in addition to my local club in CT, so my review will be focused on how this club is different from others I see in my travels. To start, my review appears more favorable than most as most others are commenting about the membership experience, but since I was a visitor, my review is about the facility. Upon checking in, I headed to the locker room which was clean but most impressive were that all the lockers were full sized. Most others have a mix, with most of them being small and in the winter with heavier coats and stuff, you need larger lockers or a coat rack which most locations don't have. The facility is what I will call a larger model location with a lot of cardio equipment which was all in good working condition. My guess from the looks of the equipment and the lack of what i see in the newer locations that this place must be 4 to 5 years old. As a larger model location, it was very roomy, with separate rooms for TRx360, Abs and 30 minute circuit. Equipment wise, they have 2 of each sized kettle-bells which I never see, but want so that I can do exercises requiring one in each arm. So from a visitor perspective this location met all my needs with no complaints. Check it out if you seek a value priced gym. read more

Planet Fitness ripped off my college-age son. They told him he could join for the summer at the advertised "No Commitment" $10/month level, and then cancel when school started to avoid the yearly fee, as long as he canceled by 8/31/18. When he went to the Planet Fitness Milton GA location to cancel -- on 8/31/18 -- they told him, "Oh, sorry, we already sent in our financials for the month, last week." Well, well, imagine that. Reporting early, just before the end of the month. Such diligent employees. I wonder how many other people this "early" submission affected? When my son reminded the Planet Fitness representative of the agreement that he could cancel on or before 8/31/18, he was told that he would just have to take that up with his bank and try to get it charged back. So out of frustration, I posted on Twitter about our experience. Planet Fitness replied: 8:42 PM - 18 Sep 2018 That is not what we like to hear! We always want to provide our members with all of the info that is necessary to cancel. We'd like to invite you to reach out to the management team at your home club, they'll be the best to help resolve your concerns. Thank you! I replied: 10:28 AM - 20 Sep 2018 Sorry you don't like to hear it. And thanks for the invitation, but he already tried that. They offered no help at all. Told him he would have to deal with it through his bank. We plan to share our experience via every ratings means available. So, with no further response, we're sharing. Buyer beware. Our experience is, you cannot trust what Planet Fitness tells you about your contract. The No Commitment $10/month sounds great. But, as usual, when something sounds too good to be true, it is. Short-sighted scammers like Planet Fitness count on the fact that most people have lives and families and work, and therefore won't have time to waste fighting to get back a lousy $40 or $50 or whatever your yearly fee is. You'll pay it, maybe grumble a bit about it, but Planet Fitness will end up with your money. Count on it. read more

Went to this planet fitness to TRANSFER my membership from Nashville and then workout. I struggled figuring it out on line. The attendant asked why I struggled and I explained it wouldn't accept my membership number. He advised I need to go to my hometown location and ask them to help me that they would have all my info.......in NASHVILLE. And then proceeded to tell me since i am not a black card member that I would have to pay $10 to workout tonight. Goodbye no judgement zone!!!!! Won't be back. read more

When I went in to cancel my membership a month ago, they had me sign and I even gave them my membership card back. They charged me again for this month and when I went in to complain, they wouldn't refund me for the charge that they messed up on. I contacted their complaint email and were useless. So disappointing and I do not recommend this gym to anyone. read more

Great facility. More important is how nice and attentive the staff is. Great group of individuals working here . Very impressed with genuine smiles and how well they keep up with everything. The club is always remarkably clean and the staff is quick to correct anyone misbehaving. So glad I joined here. read more

We've been going to this gym for a year now. Very clean place with adequate workout equipment. They have a lot of different options for workouts. One of the better gyms I've been too. My only complaint and it's nothing too serious. The night staff all wear their pants past their butts. We check in and all we see are boxers. I think it's ironic that there's a dress code for patrons but they can't seem to get their staff to pull their pants up. read more

Account has been charged even AFTER I canceled my membership. Prior to canceling they charged me over $160 in one month. No corporate to talk to just regular employees who are just told to tell the customer to call another line that is automated and gives no help. I don't even want me money back I just want them to stop charging me for not being a member!!!!! read more

Gym is fine but beware, cars have been stolen from this locations, thieves will get your keys from inside the gym and take your car. No cameras on the outside. read more

This is my favorite planet fitness. It is very well run and not over crowded. They have some strange hours and staff here that aren't well trained on their companies policies and procedures. Besides that, its solid. read more

This has to be the worst gym I have ever been a part of. I went in over a month ago to cancel my account. Was told it would be taken care of. Of course I got charged on my debit account for the following month even though it was "cancelled". I went into the location to "close" this account yet again. The young kids working were rude and said the computer was down and there was nothing they could do. I asked to get the manager to help me and he, (derrick or Eric) not sure which one it was, refused to Help me in anyway. Basically told me I was shit out of luck and to try again at another time because it was an inconvenience to him to help my situation. So now I am inconvenienced by having to keep traveling back and forth to this location to try to get a simple thing done. I will be sure to NEVER recommend this location to anyone. I have never dealt with such horrible customer service. Especially me being in the customer service industry myself I would never treat a customer that way. They should consider getting new employees who will deal with matters in a professional way and help solve the problems & figure out a solution instead of standing there shrugging shoulders telling me too bad. read more

I have been a member since January of 2016 and I absolutely think this is a great gym. For a while they had the $1/$1.50 (don't quote me on that) drinks and whenever I would forget my drink at home I'd grab one from the gym while working out and pay right before I left the gym. The staff is great, friendly and welcoming. Throughout the year I lost my debit card/ changed bank account and even though I forgot to let them know, I came into workout anyway and the staff were very understanding, still let me work out and asked me to bring in my new information the next day. I like this gym, it's clean and a great place to work out with a good variety of machines. If I had to honestly say one bad thing about the gym is that it's only opened 24hrs mon-Thursday and think on it should be changed to 24hrs mon-friday... Other then that, I'm content and don't think I'll be switching anytime soon read more

The only good thing about this gym is that it's clean and well maintained. Probably since it's newer. I gave them 1 star because of the policies and the staff. I joined Jan 2016 with my boyfriend and he was showing me how to do some workouts with the free weights. It was a slow night and we were some of the only ones at the gym. We were being mindful of our surroundings and not causing any problems. As we went to leave the manager "Brandi" rudely stopped us. She was very aggressive from the beginning of our encounter, I initially thought she was joking because of how off putting she was. She accused us of breaking rules because my boyfriend was helping me and she considered that "personal training". She said she had been watching us all night. She also said she used to be a persona trainer and knows what it looks like. If that's the case, how come you don't come and offer some tips if you're worried people are not utilizing the free trainers she began to tell us about. Who were also no where to be found that night. My boyfriend explained he didn't want me to hurt myself and was showing me proper technique. She proceeded to threaten us that she was going to revoke our memberships if it happens again. Our jaws literally dropped by what was coming out of her mouth. I felt personally attacked. I felt we were simply working out together and doing nothing wrong. When I got home I called the gym because I was so angry. Brandi of course answered and I asked her what her name was and how I can speak to her general manager. She was of course rude and told me to call back when her manager was there . The next day I called the manager and the woman told me our memberships were cancelled. Are you serious??? I told the GM what happened and she apologized about Brandi and fixed the problem. That encounter left a very sour taste in my mouth for planet fitness and their policies. Brandi to my knowledge stopped working there later on, thank god. Another awful thing is that I was paying 20 something bucks for the membership that includes everything but I wasn't utilizing it so i asked if I could switch my membership to the 10$ a month one. They were going to charge me right then and there for the new membership instead of just charging me less on the next payment cycle. that's when I decided to move on. I may return one day but only if I'm desperate. read more

I live so close to this gym and wished I liked it. I got the cheapest membership just to check it out and cancelled after 1 day. My son goes to the karate school next door so I figured I work out while he's at karate class. His class ended a few minutes early and instead of standing outside in the cold, he came in and sat in the lobby until I was finished with my workout. He was asked to leave because he didn't have a membership. The policy is you can't have anyone (child, elderly parent) sit at the dozen tables and chairs freely available without being a member. Huh? He's a kid! I canceled my membership the same day. Any gym that asks a young child to wait outside in the cold or asks me to buy him a membership or upgrade my membership to a family plan in the rare event of sitting in a lobby is no gym of mine. I won't be extorted! I stand up for elder rights and am against child abuse! read more

My wife and I have been members for about a year on auto-pay. This past Wednesday (1/18/17) we bring the whole family to work out and a very rude and arrogant young man said "Your billing is messed up and your payment is overdue by 1 day." he went on to say that "We only do bank draft so you need to give me your bank account number and routing number." No "Please' no "thanks" no "Gosh I'm sorry, lets see if we can resolve this." Neither my wife, nor I have our routing number memorized. 'Well, I need a voided check then." Sheesh buddy, we're working out here, not buying a car, we didn't bring our checkbook in to the gym. My wife is a little uncomfortable at this point, so I suggest, hey isn't this something we can resolve later, I mean after all I didn't get ANY sort of notice about there being a problem until I'm standing at the front counter with my family, and I've been paying you promptly for a year or so. The kid behind the counter looked at me like i was insane for suggesting this and even said something like 'If you don't pay you can't work out" .. his body language and tone conveying the "you idiot" that he didn't actually speak. This is the kind of stuff that results from "zero tolerance" policies. I saw another review where a mom was upset that this gym made her kid wait outside in the cold because her son finished his Karate practice a few minutes early. And Planet Fitness responded with something polite, but ultimately boiled down to 'That's the policy, sorry you didn't know the policy." Zero tolerance = zero common sense. Any rational person would look at her situation and say "Hey, let the poor kid sit at the front table for a couple minutes while his mom gets her things together and leaves." or "Hey, this guy is here with his family all ready to work out, he's been a member for a year, never missed a payment, he's only ONE day past due, and we didn't do ANY sort of notification .. let the guy and his family work out and tell them to make sure it's resolved before the next time they come back." That would have been easy enough. Instead I'm here letting others know about the terrible customer service you can expect from them. To add insult to injury, today (1/20/17) I got an email and a text message from Planet fitness alerting me that something isn't right with my billing (i was issued a new CC by the CC company). Kind of a day late and a $ short if you ask me. If you can limit your interaction with the staff here to handing them your card and badging in, you'll probably be ok here. So apparently they had my billing information wrong for my bank account so they charge my card instead and decide to charge me a late fee for that. Wtf and when I called to complain about it the lady didn't help me at all, and had the nerve to state they had to charge me extra because they didn't have the authorization to charge my card. So how did you charge my card if you didn't have authorization? read more

The gym in itself very nice. My complaint is that I went in for the $10 a month then was told it's now $15, but they will change it for me when promotion returns. The promotion returned each time I get a different story and run around. My advice is wait for offer that suits you, cause not worth headache, at this point I will cancel based in the principal of it all. read more
