Too much time in Roswell's great restaurants and breweries have caused me to recently join this…read moregym. I've previously been a member at several large box gyms but often felt uncomfortable with the sales pressure and long term contracts. Nothing like that here - at SFX I felt right at home. Everything from the front desk to the trainers (thanks Evan) made me feel right at home. The gym has all of the equipment you'll need to get a great workout in - whatever your goals are - but the real gold is the people. The staff and trainers made themselves available to answer questions and are extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Gym-goers are a total mix of ages and fitness levels and the monthly fee is reasonable. I look forward to checking out some of the classes and camps in the future. I'm still going to be patronizing all of the great food and drink in Roswell - just adding SFX into my routine!

SFX isn't just a gym...it's a family! I started with my personal trainer, Joe, a little over two…read moreyears ago and haven't looked back. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, patient and kind, he also has an arsenal of health and nutrition tips. The owner, Rick, makes everyone feel welcome and there is a diverse clientele with youth sports training and more senior or seasoned patrons like me (smile). Julian, one of the founders, is amazing with nutrition coaching, sports and functional/mobility training that has helped me with a few hip flexor issues that have come up over the years. There are also classes focused on strength training and cardio. I started small and was encouraged by another gym goer, Stephanie, to come with her to a few. Now, in addition to training, I attend step, boot camp, boxing, glute camp and even trampoline! I am grateful to her and countless others for their encouragement. The location is very convenient for me (eliminating excuses) and they have everything on hand from towels and showers to 360 body scans. I lost my way for a few years even though I knew what to do (certified personal trainer, past figure bodybuilder). The missing link was the accountability and sense of community to help keep me on track. Thanks to the great staff at SFX, I have found my way back and wouldn't trade the process for anything. Trust me, give them a try. You won't regret investing in you for a change...

I did my 7-day free trial and then kept showing up for more. My friend introduced me to Burn and…read moreafter one of my first classes I asked if the classes ever get easier. She said no, because you get stronger and you push yourself more. It'll be almost 2 years I believe of joining, and I'm so glad I did! Reservations: Burn has an app where you can sign for classes ahead of time. It helps the trainers know how many people to expect at each camp. But no worries if you don't sign up in advance or via the app. You can just sign in on the kiosk when you walk in. If you aren't a member yet, you can sign up for the free trial to see how you like it. Parking: The gym is located in a shopping center so there is ample free parking. Workouts: Each camp focuses on a certain target area (ie. arms, legs, cardio, strength, etc.). What type of workout it will be is posted on the app and their IG page for the whole week at the beginning of each week, since they do change. Some people choose to go to the same time camp each time, but you can also choose to go to a different time each day - whatever works for you! The workouts are 45 minutes long, with the trainer encouraging you and providing guidance throughout the session. Sessions always start with a warm up, then move to the core workout, proceed to the finisher, and wrap up with some stretching and announcements. Vibe: I personally enjoy the camaraderie and accountability that comes with being part of this gym. Everyone wants to see each other win. People of all ages, sizes, abilities, etc. train together and there are always modifications for every fitness level. I find myself missing the gym when I travel. Haha I never thought I'd say that.

I haven't been back but I still only hear nice things about Burn…read more.. What stopped me from signing up was the contract. There was a 6-mo and a 12-mo (trying to remember if there was a shorter one but I can't). The gist was if you wanted out you would pay a majority of the remainder of the contract...which I get from a business standpoint, but since there are so many options in East Cobb which allowed you out with no penalty (just a notice) I decided this route wasn't for me. Quite literally my only reason tho.

I first came on a 1 month $99 special. I wanted to wait to write my review until I had been going…read morefor at least a month to have a full understanding of the place. Well, 2.5 months later and I'm still here! Here's my breakdown: Parking- ample, they share a lot with several other businesses Cost- Pricey. Be prepared to spend $150-200 per month depending on your package (longer commitment= lower monthly cost). I think month to month is over $200. Trainers- there's about 4-5 core trainers that rotate so you'll get to experience a bootcamp with everyone. Of course personal preference will lead you to prefer some a little more than others, but I really do think they're all good. I'm slightly partial to Katie and Ricardo because they both are super sweet, have great energy, and give me that extra push in the form of an extra weight or racing me so I pick up the pace. The Workout- I've been active and athletic my entire life. I prefer athlete based workouts and I find that Burn fulfills this desire. If something is too slow or "cutesy" I get bored. Now, there are a range of fitness levels that attend so you can also modify and go at your own pace. Workouts for the week are posted on their Instagram every Sunday so you can know what's ahead. I love that they mix them up so if you can never come on a particular day, that doesn't mean you'll never get a particular workout. For example, leg day can be Monday this week and Wednesday next week. Also, they have camps all day long starting at 5am and the last one is 6:30pm so it can work with your schedule. Slight con is that because they don't use barbells or machines, sometimes it's hard to go up to the weight you want simply because you struggle to hold the dumbbells (i.e. I can use heavier weights for my legs than what I can hold in my hand for an extended period). Other Attendees- In general I find everyone to be cordial. I saw another review mention it felt clicky. There are a few times I have gone and felt there were certain groups that were clicky, but it's never been so bad that it deterred me from going. And it was an opportunity to talk to another person also outside of the click. I've gone to camps at all different times- 8:30am, 9:45am, Noon, 4:30pm, 5:30pm, and 6:30pm. Each time has its own personality. Front Desk Staff- Always friendly!

The owner, Dan Owens, instructs these classes often and will absolutely crush your upper and lower body in the best possible way. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure every person in the room knows what to do and helps with form if necessary and welcomed. Another great perk is access to the locker rooms and saunas. I feel the entire facility is kept clean and organized. I love the big windows everywhere which allow for a ton of natural light to come inside. I also enjoy using the indoor/outdoor green space on the bottom floor which has a garage door that can open and close depending on the weather. Very nice during Spring, Summer and early Fall. I never feel like I have to wait for equipment to free up, and they do offer complimentary towels at the front desk upon check-in. This athletic club is on ClassPass and I typically just purchase gym time using a couple credits or I sign up for the circuit or conditioning classes.
