I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time, I've been busy, and wasn't feeling well for a while. However, I want to highlight the exceptional experience we had at the San Clemente location of Planet Beauty. This is likely the only one we'll continue to go to, because it's the only one that has given us exceptional service. My girlfriend first visited this location and was so impressed by Rachel's outstanding service that she didn't want to leave San Clemente without returning to this store. During her first visit, Rachel noticed my girlfriend's hands, as she struggles with eczema. Instead of making her feel self-conscious, Rachel was warm, kind, and genuinely caring. She immediately recommended Embryolisse and even provided a sample to take home. My girlfriend couldn't stop talking about how wonderful Rachel was, and I almost couldn't believe it -- until I met her myself during our recent visit. Rachel once again provided excellent recommendations, helping my girlfriend restock her favorite products while also suggesting new ones to try. We were also fortunate to meet Heidi, who was just as friendly and welcoming. Heidi was very personable and she also had good recommendations for products we were interested in, but we had only seen her for a short time as she went on break. The conversations we had with both of them made the experience truly memorable. Rachel and Heidi are incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable -- Planet Beauty is lucky to have such exceptional team members. They even made sure we were aware of the best deals. And because of how amazing they are at what they do, neither time did we seem to leave without spending at least a hundred and we're happy to support such a great team so it was worth it. Rudest workers. This is the third time I've had an experience with a rude worker. My daughter came in to use her gift card and was trying a SAMPLE to decide between scents and the worker started yelling at her. Mind you the store is empty as always and I can see why. Strange. I've NEVER in my life gone into a shop and experienced zero customer service. Like ZERO. Not a single acknowledgement from the lady behind the counter. Nothing. She sat behind the counter the entire time, with no greeting? Not a hello? Not a kiss my a55. Nothing. My daughter and I walked through the shop looking at things and she barely looked up the entire time. Another lady walked in and was clearly another employee because they were really friendly and bubbly with each other. The other one walked into the back, got something, chitchatted with the other one behind the counter for a second again before walking out the door. The lady behind the counter went back to ignoring us. My daughter and I were smelling fragrances that literally were right near the counter. Not a single chirp from her again. We were in there for at least a good 15-20 minutes looking around. My daughter liked this scent called The Matcha and I saw a pretty dark red lipliner and lipstick that I wanted to get. I was about to go up to the counter with it, but why??? Seriously. Look, I LOVE buying make up, skincare and never mind spending money on things like this, but why would I give a place like this my money? I really wanted them but NOPE! I put them back and we left. As soon as we were outside of the store, my daughter looked up the fragrance she liked online and bought it from the online site directly instead of from this store. I also looked at the names of the products that I liked and will buy them somewhere else that wants my money. This is why places are going out of business. I like to go into shops to support local businesses, but if they don't want my business, then naaaaaah, I'm good. I'll buy it online. If anyone that actually cares is reading this, she had medium colored hair with blonde highlights that she was wearing up in a bun. This was the late afternoon, June 20th. I was impressed with how much she knew about all the different hair product lines and she was right on point . Exactly what she described about the product , I picked up the bottle and read exact information. She also has tried a lot of the products and was able to give me her personal experience opinion about it too . I bought hair products , perfume oil, candles , hair brushes, hair accessories and she gave me a bunch of skin care samples to try at home . Excellent marketing tool to do for customers because like me , I like to sample products before spending the money on it . I hate returning items I'm unsatisfied with . Favorite spot to pick up beauty essentials! Planet Beauty at this location always has fantastic customer service! The mall is dog friendly and so is this store - bonus ! The staff is so welcoming and always greets both me and my pup when we wander in . Great selection of salon quality products! My favorite brand - Caudalie is always in stock and you can grab a lot of items on sale. The location is easy to find - just on the outside edge of the mail , down to the left of Starbucks . My favorite part of the store is the clearance buckets where you can grab some amazing deals on skin care, hair care, make up, nail care, and even travel cases . Markdowns are huge and make it tempting to try out new products for fractions of the normal price. There are $1, $2, $5, etc buckets and you can find some really nice products in there from Bumble and Bumble, Ogee, OPI and more. I love "treasure hunting" in the bins , so I can never walk by without dropping in to check for new additions. I've popped in dozens of times over the past couple of years and the service is always friendly and attentive. Recently, a taller blonde man has been working and he is very knowledgeable and has a great attitude and interest in helping me find the best products for my needs ! Worst customer service, I was not greeted upon entering the store. Two employees were working both on their phones and talking to each other. I walked the entire store they looked at me but I guess I was not important enough to be addressed. Another awesome episode of me looking for crack, and not being able to find it. Hair crack. I do love walking into beauty stores asking, "Do you guys sell crack here" with a big smile on my face. The reactions are priceless. And I can tell you if either of the two girls working last Monday are reading this, they will remember my visit. The girl helping me did offer me another solution when I explained to her what hair crack was, and gave me a few options of product I might want to try instead.I did end up buying a small size of one of the options she offered me, but after using it - I dont love it. Its not crack. The staff was friendly, and helpful. The pricing, again, for an outlet center, was not outlet priced. It was standard, full priced. Horrible customer service today 2-24-2021 . I went in a few weeks ago and dropped 150$ on a hair straighter . A male was working I recognized him from the Laguna niguel location . He was helpful in picking out the straighter . Got home it didn't perform as good as I figured for 150$ . No problem I went in 2 days later to buy makeup spoke the the sales girl. Told her about the straighter and said I only used it once can I return it for the one a step above? that one I know it cost more ( 50$) more that's not a problem . She said yes . I went back in today with the straighter to get the better one plus pay an additional 50$ bringing the grand total to 200$ on a straightner . I walk in to the sales lady I say hello , I was in here the other day and the girl working told me .. then she cuts me off mid sentence and said " that was not me " . I was thinking well of course I know that was not you I'm not stupid . So I continue to explain the dilemma . I ask what is the best straighter and she picks one up takes it to the register and says oh ya this ones better I asked another question about it she says oh I don't know about hair straighteners and ask her co worker do you know anything about straighners . She says no so she just starts saying stuff about it . It was very obvious she didn't know what she was talking about . I'm about to drop 200$ on a product you know nothing about ??. The male didn't say a word he just went to the back . The lady seemed very bothered by my questions . She rings it up then says her you go . Slides it over to me , doesn't offer me a bag on a product i spent 200$ on ! Then never says thank you or have a good day .. nothing !!! I had spent the afternoon perusing all the shops and was about to go home dissatisfied when I passed by Planet Beauty and they were having a sidewalk sale! They had the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes for $20, Stila foundation for $10, and etc. I spent $53 on 5 HIGH END makeup products when I should've spent $200. All the workers were so nice and gave me great input on what to buy and what not to buy. They even gave me two smashbox sample primers after my purchase. I love this place. I get lost when it comes to makeup and one of the workers named America spent so much time with me. She did my makeup and made sure it was what I was looking for. I really appreciate the time she spent with me making sure I had what I needed. I will definitely go back and ask for her next time I need to get more makeup. If I could I would give 0 stars. Every one that works there is nice except this one girl, (African-American) idk her name.. I work at the outlets myself and it seems whenever I come in, she notices me and doesn't acknowledge me AT ALL. At first she was so kind, but now idk what I did, she gives me a uncomfortable stare. Ive come in with family and they have noticed the SAME issue. She doesn't come up to me even though EVERYONE ELSE is busy! SHES COME UP TO MY FAMILY BUT NOT ME! I went to Starbucks on my break, and she was staring at me the whole time giving me a cold stare. I don't feel welcomed AT ALL, by her. I've spent HUNDREDS of dollars here, for the love of makeup. I will contact management because this has been going on since the SUMMER! I try to approach her, but she ignores me and pretends to be busy. I'm too tired for this middle school attitude.
