I am disappointment regarding a recent issue with a gift card I received after making a return. Since the store policy is not to issue refunds, I was given a gift card with the return amount written directly on it. However, when I attempted to use the card a few months later at the store, I was informed that the card had a zero balance and had already been used. Popped into this Planet Beauty location a month ago. I've been coming to this location for a year now. I always have a good experience shopping here. I wish they carried more brands at this location, but it is what it is. I'm a beauty product junkie, and I love the way this clean store is organized. Wow! Macy (apologies if that's not the correct spelling) is BY FAR the friendliest and most knowledgeable associate I've met at this location. She greeted me, smiled, she's outgoing, helpful, and beyond sweet. You just don't see that these days. She helped me find several shampoo options and made sure I was happy before leaving. She even invited me back to shop during their next sale. And I'll definitely be back because of her. The store is clean, easy to locate and parking was a breeze. You all just lost my business! I am a long term customer. Arrived at the store at 2:45 and there is a sign on the door stating you're closed for lunch until 2:45. I waited in front of the store until 3:00 when an employee opened the door and stated she is closed until 3:45 for lunch. That is NOT what the sign says. The girls here are always so helpful and very educated on the products they sell ! They are very good about recommending products that they feel will best suite your needs. If they have samples of anything they are more then happy to send you home with a handful . The only negative thing I have to say about this place would be the discount exclusions . I been coming here for a little over 2 years always purchase the same hair products, which are a bit pricey but love how they work. This weekend was no different and spend about $200. When i got home and open one of the boxes i notice my product was completely empty and seem use. I went to the store and show the products to one of their representatives, i was told I would be contacted the next day to see my options. I frequent Planet Beauty's around Orange County, and typically the staff does an excellent job greeting upon arrival and asking if I need any assistance. I walked in today without any greeting, found what I needed and stood at an empty cash wrap counter for a good 5 minutes only to have the staff bring up another customer to the other side of the counter to ring her up first without saying a word or even looking at me. The customer service representative was very rude and snotty. She answered the question in an annoyed manner. I then asked if the dry shampoo in this brand was in stock there today. The representative said in a rude tone, "You need to be on hold while I look." I waited on hold for 20 minutes. She never came back to the phone. I'm blown away that this representative was so rude. After a terrible experience at Sallys Beauty where the employees refused to honor my coupon (which had no expiration date on it and the employees tried to convince me it was expired) I walked out and bought nothing and called Planet Beauty in Ladera to see if they had what I was looking for. The gentleman I spoke with was very helpful and told me they did have something that would fit what I was looking for. When I drove over later that day the same gentleman was still there and he walked me over to the product, answered all my questions, helped me find my name in the computer to get me a discount, and he overall was just very friendly and outgoing and great customer service. It was a great experience. I would return here again and recommend this place to friends. A store having the right products is only half of what matters. Having friendly and helpful employees is just as important. This place has both. read more

It seems to be a general employment qualification to be rude and cold. The shopping center is generally bustling, warm and inviting, as is much of Ladera Ranch businesses. I've frequented the surrounding businesses such as the PO box a few doors down (some of the nicest people, I swear!) The Thai restaurant across the street (always a lighthearted environment where the waiters joke with you and make you feel welcome), and Selmas across the way (consistently great service across the board.) But the Planet Beauty is a black sheep in this shopping center. I suppose I've been spoiled by generally kind faces and warm welcomes, but this must be one of the first times I've stepped into a store without even a nod in my direction. Typically I would get a smile from some employees or business owners at other establishments, but I was surprised! I didn't even come in to browse, I came in looking for products! I wondered if it was the way I dressed, or the fact that I didn't do my hair this morning. But besides the fact, I was so surprised I paced back and forth in the haircare aisle looking for product, without a single "Hi, how are you doing?" "Do you need help?" Not even a glance in my direction! Of course I purchased a product, but I was bluntly reminded to never come back! The service was atrocious! I am not typically one who requires excellent customer service, but I wanted to at least be acknowledged! Besides, the selection is poor, and the products were dusty. I asked if they offered a certain product and was rudely reminded that what they have is out on the shelves (despite the boxes of product I saw on their cart). Never ever come back! It is not too often that I give one star reviews, but I was very disappointed with this location of Planet Beauty. This is one of their smaller locations and the service I received here was rude and arrogant. I have frequented the location in the Irvine Spectrum with never this same type of service. I stopped in the store because I was at the nearby Albertson's. I went in and asked if they carried Zoya nail polish. The first salesperson who I talked to said no without even looking around and proceeded to give me a very condescending look. I was a bit flabbergasted and should have walked out but I said ok and proceeded to go look at their other nail polishes. I heard the other salesgirl say something to the other girl and then come up to me and say, we do have one set of Zoya polishes and proceeded to show the set to me. Even though she was trying to be nice, I was so disgusted at that point, I said thank you, looked at the set and walked out. Since there are a multitude of Sephora and Ulta stores around and since the Irvine Spectrum Planet Beauty store is a bigger location and has helpful staff, I really don't think I will be setting foot in this store again. read more

I have to say that they have the greatest staff at this location. I know the store can be a little pricey and I don't like how the coupons can't be used for bare minerals, but everytime I need help finding something or need an opinion there is someone there to help. I was clueless about finding hair color and the girl came over and asked me questions and even matched my hair to the samples in the book. I love coming in here just to snoop, I usually walk out with a great new find. The staff is amazingly helpful, the first time I went in they helped me find the perfect hair mask, and I went back in 2 weeks later and the girl who helped me remembered me and asked how it worked, and pointed me to a shampoo that worked well with it, and it did! They are helpful and informed. They also don't mind screaming kids (the love keeping my toddler distracted). They also have a great section of candles/aromatherapy, great for gifts!! Gimmick return policies and salespeople with BAD attitudes... Very poor people skills Inconsistent discount pricing.. I get the whole vendor discount denial but I was told it depends on what day of the week it is whether or not you are eligible to receive the promotional spend certain amount and get 25.00 off. The salesperson was very condescending and dismissive in her attitude with a very poor outcome for me the customer. Have been a great customer for a long time but unfortunately they have lost me as a customer. I am also in the customer service industry but at the executive level and would never let customer dissatisfaction get to this level. Tried to reach the corporate office (during regular business hours) but after they give you the prompt It disconnects and I was not able to either leave a voicemail either automated or otherwise.I guess Planet Beauty has so much $$$ they don't really care about customer service and or satisfaction ! Lexi, you are a true asset to Planet Beauty. I have been shopping here for MANY years and will continue as the team here has always taken care of me with discounts when available and updating me with new beauty products and techniques. Today Lexi was on her game and this is the perfect example of why I shop here. The store got a little busy but what I noticed most, was her true passion for what she does and making sure her customer is more confident in themselves when leaving than how they felt when they came in. She helped me right away and was also able to assist others while I was making my decisions. I came in for some Rodial pink diamond face masks which both my mom and I use and we love them!!! I specifically use the Rodial Dragon's Blood line and love it. In 3 months I've noticed a dramatic difference. I struggle with acne scars, fine lines, and oily skin which can cause more acne. This line is the best. Lexi talked to me about my issues with my skin and after using Bare Minerals for many years, she offered to try Jane Iredale's line on my skin. I heard it was a great beauty line but again I am hesitant because of my skin issues. She was very sweet and made me feel beautiful even without makeup. She explained the product, matched my skin color perfectly and I ended up buying all new face makeup with the right brushes and techniques to apply. I am really excited to see the difference as I can already feel it and it looks so fresh and light but with the coverage that I need!!!
