First time here and customer recommendation. Ambiance is very nice. Little tight quarters but great service. They start you off with a little pour of prosecco. The Negroni was on point. Had the Beef Carpaccio and the Artichokes. Artichokes were phenomenal. Beef Carpaccio was setup differently and lacked little flavor. Blue Crab Ravioli were stuffed and large and had the Veal Chop. It was fantastic! Friends of ours had been here for dinner and I noticed they were open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday. This is a Spanish influenced restaurant with many great tapas available at night. For brunch they have some great traditional brunch items. My mother enjoyed the apple fritters with apple cider honey for dipping. They were so good we did not have a chance to try them. My goodness the honey was good. My wife had the eggs Benedict and it was one of the best versions she has ever had. The hollandaise sauce was exceptional. My brother, and I, both opted for the corned beef hash with eggs your way and toast. Again, very, very good. We loved it and can't wait to go back for dinner.. read more

We decided to eat at Plane and Level on our weekly date night. It occupies the old Camelia Cafe building, and it is very similar in ambiance, IMO. We started with the Baked Oysters and they were solid but not incredible. In old recommend them if you go there, but there are better baked oysters at a dozen other locations on the Eastern Shore. Just my opinion again. We also ordered the double fried potatoes, and they were okay. Not great. They have a ham on the bar that is supposed to be the best ham in the world. It is priced at $30/Ounce. We had some....I don't get it. It had very little taste. I think it's a gimmick. Anyway, it's priced way too high, and the food is average judging by what we ordered. I can't recommend this restaurant. There are way too many options that are superior to Plane and Level. NOT RECOMMENDED read more

We went for brunch on a Sunday. The staff were friendly and engaging. The space itself is tastefully decorated and the food was exceptional. Chef Amaro, who has worked in some amazing kitchens throughout his career, including the world renowned, Michelin 3-star restaurant El Bulli (check out Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" season 7 episode for one hour of food porn.) My sister and I sat at the bar and had a delightful evening. It was a Thursday night so it was not really crowded but it is usually hard to get into this restaurant. Stumbled upon this place going through town and I will definitely be returning! My mom and I just wanted a few appetizers and drinks before heading out and Plane & Level did not disappoint. Madison took care of us at the bar and she was wonderful! She had such great recommendations and was so knowledgeable about the menu! The tuna crudo was fantastic! One of the best i've had. We just stayed for appetizers but I will definitely be back to explore their dinner menu! I definitely recommend dining here when visiting Fairhope! read more

The atmosphere was nice. A bit loud, but it was crowded when we first got there. The server was very friendly, however, the service was rather slow for an upscale restaurant. She had a great personality, but the food and drinks and service were slow. The appetizers were very good. We had Brussels sprouts and carpaccio. My steak dinner was not that good. My dinner and my husband's dinner were not even hot. The entrees were mediocre at best. My drink was excellent. read more

Holy moley, last night at Plane & Level Coastal's Italian Pop-Up we were transported to the heart of Italy through a masterfully curated menu by Chef Orlando Amaro! Madisons' effervescent cocktail first set the tone. Highlights included the Prosciutto di Parma paired with crispy, creamy Cacio e Pepe Fritters and the luscious Carbonara, where al dente Paccheri Pasta and smoky guanciale were perfectly balanced with D.O.P Pecorino Romano. An amazing little place, with incredible dishes, friendly service, and charming ambience both exterior and interior. My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary in Fairhope and she found this restaurant online. We had walked past it a dozen times, because the name "Plane and Level" didn't register with us as Italian cuisine. Clearly someone in ownership has an affinity for aircraft and that is apparent in the name and decor, but the food is all authentic Italian. We sat at the bar and our "stewardess/server" greeted us warmly, and took excellent care of us the entire evening. I believe we were the last to leave the restaurant just shortly before closing time. We loved the antipasto salad, and we both felt that the lasagna was the best we've ever had. We love Italian and we eat it a lot so that's high praise coming from us. We both found an Italian vino that we enjoyed, but I would like to see them add at least a few California wines to the list. Loved the overall decor. The ceiling lights look vintage like from an Art Deco movie theater. The antique tables and the modern black sound absorbing panels along the wall were a really nice upscale touch. I do feel they've outgrown some of the airplane memorabilia that's literally plastered along the back wall, but clearly an owner prerogative. Overall, an absolute great place with an intimate feel, awesome food, and a charming staff. We won't miss it next time we're in Fairhope. read more

We ordered a number of the tapas dishes, which the sommelier expertly paired with delicious wines. The food was absolutely amazing and beautifully plated. The service was top notch! My wife and I shared a papaya name entrée which was a catch of the day. Basically it was six medium shrimp that could not be peeled due to being cold and overcooked, and some type whitefish. I was told it was grouper but I'm not sure it was. I grew up on the bay not far from Fairhope and I've eaten plenty of seafood in my lifetime. It still had the dark meat on the bottom of the fish which gave it a very strong fish taste. All of this on a bed of San Francisco Rice-A-Roni for $80.00. I would have sent it back if I had known it was going to cost that much. The only thing good about this dinner was the dessert. read more

So good we both got seconds. The Ensalada De Manzanas Y Manchego salad was beautifully plated and such great flavors, waygu empanadas with chimchurri so good, and seared salmon had a delicious crusty coating served over yummy spinach. We also watched Chef serve a rack of lamb to the table next to us. Quite entertaining. We finished with Flan that came with a light citrus whipped cream topping. Super delish.
