I feel compelled to spotlight Ashley Pollick and "Placer Title Company" at 3900 Coffee Road as a great example of an escrow officer and company that takes its business seriously. If you are selling or buying real estate, and are asked to sign documents at an escrow company, "insist" that your agent/broker be there so you can get answers to the questions you will have "before signing". There will be a notary for every signing, but not all notaries are the same, so ask your agent/broker to make a recommendation. With these few modifications, you will have an extraordinary experience. You deserve no less. Extremely poor customer service as other reviewers have stated--- I have purchased a home before using other title companies and this was my very first time selling a home. I am new to this, did not know how long it would take to pick up my check from the sale. It has been over week so I decided to call the company to inquire, and was assisted by someone stating "I don't know, call your escrow officer". As being someone uneducated on this you would think that someone who works in this business day after day wouldn't respond as if she was going out of her way to give me a response. Definitely don't recommend, if there's an opportunity to use a different company I'd use Chicago or First American where they don't make you feel like an inconvenience. read more

This company has many poor reviews on Yelp for good reason. I will also need to add to that as I received extremely poor customer service from Placer Title. I closed on a brand new home and the seller chose Placer Title. After we moved in we received past due billing notices from the Kern County property tax collector. It took me less than a minute to go on the county website to see the billing notices and that there was a returned payment to Placer as they failed to pay the correct taxes before I closed on the new home. I promptly called Placer and the first receptionist was friendly and wanted to help but she was either new or incompetent as I needed to walk her through the steps to look up the public information regarding property taxes owned from the county website. She assured me they would take care of it that day and I left it at that. Several weeks later I get another past due bill with late fee assessments from the county. I call the county to verify what's going on and then have to call Placer back as they are dropping the ball. I get a differed clerk who was rude and unprofessional. She gave me attitude since she was under the impression that since the bill is the responsibility of Placer title through the seller that I don't need to worry about it. Wrong! Bills are coming with my name on it attached to my address since you are failing to take care of your job responsibilities. I am very disappointed in how you treated me. read more

Nothing they could do, they wanted to do. Everything felt like a drag for the employees to do, nobody wanted to help me and I kept getting transferred to someone else, over and over and over, having to repeat myself constantly because no information would carry over to the next representative. Utterly useless as well as the smell was quite horrendous, I would advise anyone to go elsewhere as it was simply not worth the trouble or time. Process was smooth until you call and ask for a 1099s tax form that was not included in the escrow closing packet. Not only was I missing documents but all other documents were blank. When I talked to the escrow agent Kathy Blythe. She was extremely rude and insisted she made no mistakes. I would not recommend working with this company based on this agents horrible attitude. Hired Placer Title to handle a refinance transaction for my client. The worst customer service unreliable company. Do not recommend this company unless you never want to close your transaction in a timely manner. Cassandra was the worst, always on the phone, never calls back and never respond to emails. My wholesale mortgage lender used Placer and their document scans were very, very sloppy. I was unimpressed. We also had to put in the recission dates ourselves. I'm really unsure what I paid for, but they did the bare minimum. If you end up with Placer, I would consider looking elsewhere. read more

Placer is a joke. Cassandra is an escrow agent and she never answers her phone and I had to call her not her call me but me call her to see if my check was finally ready and she finally answered 30 minutes before they closed and said yes . literally I got there just a few minutes before closing and the lady at the desk would not let me see Cassandra and just threw me my check without even looking at my Id or asking who I was. My ex husband was also coming in for his check and I asked her if there would be time for him to come and she said yes I will wait. I then said I'm going to put my purse in the car and right when I left and turned back around to walk back to the door they locked it and would not open the door. So my ex husband drove across town for nothing. They are very rude and unorganized people. I never want to work with anyone from placer again! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. We would have never picked Placer Title, the selling agent did. The day before escrow was suppose to close we brought our cashiers check for the exact amount we were told to bring. The morning of escrow closing we were told that they needed $900 additional. We wired the money first thing In the morning when they told us. Completely delayed closing. DO NOT USE PLACER TITLE!!!!!! Use Ticor Title....they are amazing and Doug Myers is a rockstar....we've used him when selling 3 of our houses and everything went perfect. read more

I think it is appropriate to explain why the other reviews are inaccurate. First of all, a notary is not licensed to explain loan documents, they are simply there to ensure that the documents are properly signed. As a licensed real estate broker, I personally accompany every client to escrow and explain the documents because I am licensed to do that. When choosing an agent, make sure that they are with you everytime you sign anything and they should be able to answer any questions you have regarding what you are signing. The second issue was answering calls, I understand that frustration, but you have to realize that escrow companies are a neutral third party representing both sides of the transaction and they spend 95% of their time, often late into the evenings to accomplish that goal. If they do not answer your call, leave a message and send an email, but better yet, contact your agent who should be doing that for you in the first place. Most of the interactions in the typical real estate transaction are done by the professional REALTOR handling the transaction and if you are not receiving information or responses from your REALTOR, you need to ask them why. I don't know the delivery person referenced, but hopefully, if this was true he is no longer doing what he was doing. If it happened in my office, I would, as the broker go to the escrow company and ensure that it did not happen again. Finally, your REALTOR should be checking your net proceeds, reviewing loan charges and ensuring the accuracy of the closing file; most actually deliver the check to you in person. Most of the complaints each of you made were avoidable and all of those complaints should have been voiced to your REALTOR who would ensure that you were completely satisfied... A professional REALTOR is the gateway to a terrific purchase or sale and can save you money, time and concern but only if you have open communication with them. read more

One of the worst title companies I have ever used: Poor customer service and sloppy paper work: It is virtually impossible to reach an escrow officer by phone. One must nearly always leave a message and wait for call-backs, which are usually slow to come. The escrow officers are not lazy or intentionally rude. I have received return phone calls after 8:00 PM from overworked officers apologizing for the late calls. Placer Title just has too few escrow officers handling too many closings to provide good service and careful preparation of important documents. I spent hours corresponding with the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) over tax withholdings they claim to have never received from Placer Title. I was threatened with wage garnishment and tax leans if not paid. It was finally determined that Placer did send the withholdings to the state (over $5,000), but used the wrong tax form - thus all the confusion. I spent far more time on this issue than Placer did in handling my escrow, but my time was of no concern to them. I decided to write a review of Placer Title after learning from one of my real estate agents that my experience was not unusual. She stopped using Placer because of complaints from other clients with stories similar to my own. read more

Well let me start by saying that I have been waiting for a follow up call from Jordan the last couple weeks. I never and still have not got a call back so I left a message with the manager and yet no call back either. Sigh! I closed on a property a few weeks ago and the recording on the title was incorrect on the deed. Jordan told me that he would take care of it on our initial phone conversation. He said since it was their mistake he would arrange a notary to meet with us and take care of it so the title was corrected on the deed. I didn't think it would be so difficult to do this considering there are mobile notaries everywhere. I just want our title fixed on the deed. I don't feel that is a lot to ask. I would be ok with this since I am a pretty patient person but just call me to let me know what the status or follow up for this issue is. I understand that we have closed on the property so I am guessing I don't matter anymore as a customer but geez. As a customer, don't we all love it when someone else makes a mistake and they leave it up to the customer to do the leg work to fix their mistake. Well I am still waiting for a follow up call for the title correction so hopefully I get a call this week. I have waited the last 2 weeks, what's another week, right?!! I guess I am so frustrated that I just need to make a joke about this mess. read more
