We hired them last spring to re-roof our home, replace some rotted eaves and fascia and replace our old solar system (it was inefficient and malfunctioned quite a bit). We are very happy with what we got for the price we paid, it was a good value. It looks so much better than it did before and is consistently producing more energy. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. All in all, if you need a new roof or solar system or home battery, or all of the above, call Volt. They are a competent and professional group of local people who are really f**king good at what they do.

Though it was a simple fix that i should have figured out on my own, after a number of calls to other solar companies, Tim responded quickly and made the process much better and more affordable. I realize that solar companies are in the business of selling panels and batteries to make a greater income, so coming out for a minor fix is even more appreciated. The pool solar is totally useless, does not produce any heat, when I asked for a review I was told I would need to cut down my (4) Birch trees (very delicate branches) in order for pool solar to work. This was not suggested or shared when installing the solar, perhaps they knew that would be a hard no. I will need to have new pool solar installed and repair my new roof. I am floored that Magic Sun could not manage to provide good pool solar and add enough electric solar to satisfy their profit. 1 star is being generous.

I selected Spartan because they went the extra mile. I had outdated 16" skylights and Spartan contacted the skylight company and set up special replacements. Their pricing was the best of the three contractors we considered, and they were also the only company willing to set up a non-export system so we could preserve our NEM 2.0 status and still get permission to operate from PG&E. That was a huge advantage for us, since other contractors were pushing us toward NEM 3.0. Their sales team was patient, helpful, and not pushy at all. They walked us through our options clearly, were honest about scheduling constraints, and still found a way to get us in on a pretty good timeline.
