His explanations were clear and not pressured, like many of the sales people were. And he was very responsive. And the others, whose names I would have to search deeper in my memory banks to get, were equally great. But I am adding to my review because of the efforts of Christi, the office manager, who went above and beyond in getting us a rebate from PG&E. We kept on putting it off and she persisted. Valley Solar has been a great company to work with on my solar installation. I first contacted them in the summer of 2020 and even with the setbacks of COVID they gave me an installation date of December 2020 (I did shop around a little and found their prices to be in line with market, if not a little better than most). When December came around, they were on time and were able to install the support frame and panels in one day. They were quick and efficient and met their installation date. It has now been ~3 years and the panels are working well and producing just as advertised. There have been a couple of minor issues that have come up, but Brad and his team are very kind and have a great customer service department. I was impressed with Valley Solar from the first call. I called on a Friday afternoon regarding adding additional solar panels. The phone was answered by a live person and I had an estimate after a 15 minute call by then end of the day. The estimate was within both our solar needs and price range. There was not upselling. When I emailed the next Monday with a couple questions the same person called me back within 1 hour. During our conversation he actually helped us avoid excessive panels and wasting of money. Every contact I had with the company was responsive and helpful. There were no delays. I worked with 3 people on our solar purchase and install and all followed through and were quite friendly. They were very patient in educating me about options and how it works, they then made it very easy with applying for permits from SMUD and the county. 2 1/2 years ago I took a walk down to the end of my street to speak to a neighbor about his solar system. It was probably the most money I ever made in the 30 minutes it took me to get the information I needed and learn about Valley Solar. I had several other solar installers provide me with quotes and some of those were at least twice as much for a similar system. Some companies would not even give me a quote because they did not want to deal with Lodi Electric Utility. Once I contacted Valley Solar in January they responded immediately and I was up and running in March. The system has performed flawlessly producing power and I will break even in another 4 years. Valley Solar is very pro-active and has been out a couple of times to address issues with the system communication function. I did not request these visits, they just called and asked if they could come out and do some upgrades. Pretty impressive if you ask me. This is a well run company. Many long term employees work as a team. The owner is hands-on for detail and installation. He actually takes phone calls! When the time came for installation, it was done cleanly and efficiently in one day. I researched solar for quite a while before making the final decision for Valley Solar. Many companies in this area have such poor service! One of the biggest solar companies gave me a very professional 1-hour Zoom sales presentation. A few days later, I had some questions. After three attempts over several days with no response, I gave up on them. This experience was not unique. After a telephone consultation with Valley Solar, they sent someone out for an onsite visit to answer all my questions. I was concerned that the installation would meet HOA requirements (no visible conduit). Valley Solar satisfied all requirements! The panel quality is also excellent. We got four bids for solar work and selected Valley Solar because of price, their professionalism and the good things we read about the SunPower panels they use. From the beginning we appreciated salesman Brian Tsuda's careful style and concern not to over promise. The workers, led by foreman Chris Pedersen were highly professional and did a great job. When the job was done, I spoke with the county inspector, who made an unsolicited statement that all the material, wiring, junctions, workmanship was significantly above legal requirements. Now my monthly bill is cheaper than PG&E was, and in 12 years i will have no electric bills - for life! I don't know why everyone does not switch to Solar immediately. read more

This is my first Yelp review ever, but I'm so blown away by the awesome customer service that I experienced with Valley Solar that I really need to share! My inverter on my solar array has been giving me trouble and has been RMA'd a couple of times now. It went out again so I called Valley Solar and they were booked a couple weeks out. It wasn't right away but I heard back and learned the owner of the company himself would be coming out to take a look. I thought for sure he was going to tell me I needed a new inverter, which would mean another fight with the manufacturer... but after a couple of hours of working in the hot sun, he got it up and running again! He explained to me what had happened and provided a couple of possible causes. He was a super cool dude and also explained how I could run ethernet directly to my inverter for free system monitoring. I think I have a solar company for life now!!! Kudos to Brad, Mike, Pablo and Carlos... all folks I've dealt with at Valley Solar and all are extremely customer-service oriented! My wife and I selected Valley Solar in December to install a 4.14 kw (estimated 6241 KWH annual production) system on our home--we highly recommend them. Brian Tsuda worked with us to ensure that we had a system that would produce our desired amount of power while taking into account several placement challenges, including our request to have a system that wouldn't require us to remove an oak tree. Brian and Kevin Robinson provided excellent service, answering all of our questions promptly, keeping us informed, and making sure that the purchasing, financing, and installation proceeded smoothly. Horrible communication. I was scheduled for an installation this week and rearranged my work schedule to be home. Carl sends me an email with plans of my system saying that they will submit for permits and schedule again at a later date. UNREAL! I have been a Valley Solar customer for six years. I have had a solar array installed and recently complimented that with two Tesla Powerwall 2 batteries. I plan to contract with the company again soon to provide a bit more energy production for my home. I trust these people. Jan 2015 This company is A+ all the way around. Sales person Carl so nice and honest. Owner Brad super and very knowledgeable and helpful. Workers great guys, neat, polite and very professional. Office staff super nice and efficient. With Solar we believe will save us lots of money and will know more in coming months on the production. It's January now and were in the fog for the last week so not to productive. When the sun is out working great. We also choose this company because of there review on yelp and Angie's list and they deserve great reviews as nothing was done that wasn't to our full satisfaction. Also Valley sells the best panels on the market. Best production and warranty. We have a cut up roof and these are the only panels that would have given us enough to really offset our huge electric bill. Will revisit this review later in the year and let you know how good our savings on solar really is. It's hard to know for sure but will get back to it and report on this. July my bill was $38.00 and if you add cost of solar of $70.00 (amount less rebate divided by 20 years) makes the total of $108.00 and last July my bill was $568.00 What a savings!!! Jan 2016 Great company and this is my second review. Has been a year now since we got solar and here is the final tally for cost and usage. This review is proof of the solar panels and there ability to provide what you need but this company is the best got 8 quotes and nobody knew there business like VALLEY SOLAR!!! Aprox. savings around $2000.00 first year including solar cost. Cost for the year to PG&E was about $767.00 and our cost for the solar panels which calculated the total cost after tax rebate which is right off the top of your taxes so a real 100% rebate. So cost of system after rebate about 16K Divided by 20 years= less than $70.00 month I rounded up from $66.66. Anyhow so pg&e cost and solar cost total for the year 2015 year 840.00+767.00= $1607.00 for the year & Kw use total was12855 2014 year paid in electric alone $3605.00 with Kw use of 13273 2013 year pain in electric alone $3951.00 kw use 14393 We did use 500 less kw this year but the savings was pronominal compared to prior years. Sunpower panels best on market did research for 8 months before purchasing. Also VALLEY SOLAR is AWESOME very honest, trustworthy and so professional. Highly recommend this company. There workers great and Brad owner so nice. Carl sales manager super. Can't say enough and very picky person so reviews like this are hard to come by. We were quoted the panels would make 8200 and they made almost 8400 so very accurate as to the panels and this is sunpower company makes this quote. Valley Solar installed our solar PV system a few years ago. They did a great job on the installation - and responded quickly to any questions that I had along the way. We have been so happy with the results! We are also considering a new HVAC system and will certainly call them to do that work. They also did the installation of a new energy-efficient new pool pump, which has been amazing. Our pool is completely clear, and we pay less in energy! read more

Today we completed installation of a photo voltaic array and generating system by Valley Solar. Our experience is mixed. The salesman, field crew, and engineers were a delight to work with. Special kudos for their foreman/electrician, Chris Pederson. He worked long hours, without complaint, and maintained a professional demeanor at all times. Our delight with Valley Solar was diminished at the end of the project. In accordance with our contract, payment was due, once the final inspection was signed off. That morning, I received a call from the project coordinator suggesting that we hand a check to their technician, upon completion of his work. I informed him that we do not write checks, rather make all (especially major payments) payments electronically. I gave him three options, wire transfer, payment by bank issued check, or electronic funds transfer. It was early enough in the day that a wire transfer would have been received by their bank on the same day. I then asked him send us an invoice and contact my wife to make final arrangements for payment, i.e. routing and account numbers. Things began to go downhill from this point. My wife received an email, with an invoice attached. She replied, via email, to the effect that we could conduct a wire transfer, but there would be a $45 cost. She also noted that we could perform an electronic funds transfer, which would cost nothing, but would take five days for account setup time. At that point Valley's office staff called. She wanted payment immediately, but was unwilling to pay the wire transfer fee, which we found petty given the sum involved. She stated that she had sent us an invoice previously, which is true, but the invoice arrived before the work started and was dated the same as our contract, about one month prior to work starting. At this point the Valley employee was becoming rude and talking down to my wife. There is a relatively large sum of money involved, and we were surprised, even concerned, by Valley's insistence on "immediate" payment. We were in the contracting business for more than twenty-six years, with our business focused on large industrial and commercial projects. We also have significant experience in residential projects and understand that they function differently, but not that differently. Actually, at the time the confrontation was taking place, the project wasn't actually completed. We did not tolerate confrontations with customers or rudeness by our employees. We expect to be treated in the same manner. Furthermore, any person in our employ would have been disciplined for similar actions. The matter was escalated to the project coordinator where it was resolved. The product performs as advertised, was on schedule, and within the agreed upon sum. Once again, the salesman, field crew, and project coordinator were great to work with. We received some minor property damage during the course of the project. We did not complain to management, for two reasons. First, having been in the business, we realize that things happen. Second, we really appreciated the crew and their efforts. It is unfortunate that the actions of one individual turned this project from a five-star to a four-star experience. What a shame. read more
