Play-X-Scape was the perfect celebration location for my favorite three-year-old this year. The birthday party was a big hit with the adults and children. The ages in attendance were 10-months-old to 84-years-old. Hands down the best feature of this venue is that when you book your party you have the entire run of the place for you and your guests. This was the best! They have lockers in the lobby for everyone to remove their shoes to keep the floor clean that children may be crawling or playing on. Grip socks are required to be worn and are also available for purchase. There are various play areas and activities for the children. There is a large playscape in the center of the room complete with a slide. Play areas include a kitchen, store, diner, animal hospital, puppetry, coloring, legos, blocks, yard size connect four, climbing walls, swings and basketball hoop. Some children did not want to leave!!! Play-X-Scape also has a birthday party room for eating pizza, snacks and cupcakes. Our party was setup for 10 children. It was completely decorated with an animal theme of Young, Wild and Three as part of the booking. The pizza was provided by YaYa's Pizza next door. Ironically we had more adults than children at the party. There are four tables with chairs for adults to sit plus a bench inside of the door. I wish we had brought some games for the adults to play during the 3-hr party. This venue also has open play hours for a place to take your children to explore for $12. Different levels of party packages are also available.

They have a VIP pass for $75 that allows 10 visits. My 13 month old loves visiting at least once a week. The facility is very clean with staff cleaning during the day. They have snacks and food you can order as well as drinks for the kiddos. Although they do have a dedicated toddler time for 2 and under, I take my kid to the general hours because she loves being around bigger kids. I love that parents can play with the kids on all surfaces which isn't common at all indoor play areas. We have encountered so many nice parents and well behaved kids there and look forward to going every week.

My daughters were in classes for a year and could not return due to a medical condition. They put my money into a credit, had their teenage receptionist call and hang up on me because I wanted to speak to a manager and still would not refund my money. It's been two years with terrible communication from their end. Terrible policies, even worse customer service. High turn over and terrible attitudes. Its been two years and they still will not give me my money back. Go somewhere else, the sterling heights location is awful and their operations manager is insulting. There are older kids running around - and we saved her from getting mowed down a few times. But - it is a play place so you would expect kids running around. You can't just turn a toddler loose and expect them to manage on their own. There is a 'toddler' area, but it was pretty lame, she wanted to be out with the trampolines, slides and tunnels. It's not super big so it does get pretty crowded and congested, I'm not sure what their kid limit is, but it felt like it couldn't hold any more kids when we were there. 1 or 2 hours is probably enough time for the kids, it wasn't real expensive, $15 for her, an extra $5 for each adult. Parking isn't great as others have said, but not horrible.

Their check in process is quite slow because they require each person to make an account and pay in person, which is time consuming when you have a line of people standing at the door, so hopefully that gets better over time or gets moved to online. But all the staff were pleasant so that's always a plus. Overall, definitely a wonderful addition to the Redford community.

Our experience renting this facility for my daughter's prom send-off was extremely disappointing…read moreand left what should have been a joyful celebration overshadowed by unprofessional and hostile treatment from staff. The primary issue involved a male staff member, Tyriek. After a hostile interaction with him, I made it clear that I preferred to communicate through his coworker, Christine, who was professional, respectful, and fully capable of answering any questions we had. Rather than respecting that request, Tyriek continued to approach me and repeatedly took issue with the fact that I chose not to communicate directly with him. I repeatedly explained that our communication was not effective or productive and that Christine was successfully handling all communication. Despite this, Tyriek stated that because I would not speak with him, he would be contacting the Director. When Theresa, the Director of Leisure Services, arrived, she immediately instructed me to step aside and speak with her privately. Rather than asking what had occurred or attempting to understand both sides of the situation, she immediately informed me that I was required to interact with Tyriek and be respectful to him. I explained that after feeling repeatedly disrespected and spoken to in a demeaning manner, I preferred not to communicate with him and would instead continue working through Christine. Theresa then threatened to cancel my daughter's event if I did not "listen to him." I specifically asked what rules we were violating. Neither Theresa nor Tyriek could identify any actual rule that had been broken. Instead, Theresa referenced things that could potentially happen. For example, she mentioned the possibility of music being too loud, despite the fact that we had not previously been asked to lower it. Once she did make that request, we complied immediately. She also stated that guests could not enter through the garage doors, while simultaneously acknowledging that guests were being redirected to the front entrance exactly as we had been instructed. At no point was I provided with a clear example of a rule that had actually been violated. Despite this, the situation continued to be escalated unnecessarily. I was also troubled when two additional staff members were assigned to monitor our event. Given that no rules had been broken, no disturbances occurred, and our guests were cooperative throughout the evening, this level of scrutiny felt unnecessary and made our family and guests feel unwelcome. After the event, we left the facility spotless. When I later called regarding the status of my deposit, Sam informed me that it would be returned by mail and that we would not be permitted to rent the facility again due to the "commotion." Considering that the issues stemmed from staff escalating a situation that could have easily been resolved by allowing communication to continue through another staff member, I found that explanation disappointing. I would like to acknowledge Christine, who remained professional, courteous, and helpful throughout the entire process. Fortunately, we will be receiving our full deposit back, which confirms that the facility was left in excellent condition and that no damage or misconduct occurred during our event. While I was informed that we would not be allowed to rent the facility again, I can honestly say that after this experience, I have no intention of doing so. What should have been a memorable celebration for my daughter became stressful and unpleasant due to the conduct of certain staff members. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this facility.
