I've re-connected with lots of folks just visiting this location. This is quite a popular spot for folks that live in NOE. I've transacted business here & I've been a lookey-Lou and I see others do the same. The tables and chairs are positioned so that you can have a brief meeting or just be alone... love the versatility of this place. The ambiance was great. Friendly helpful folks were here to assist me with my drink & beverage choice. I found pricing to be fair & in line with the normal PJ's pricing. The quality of food & drinks are standard for PJs and this made the visit all the better. I felt like I wanted to do a refill of my drink and grab another snack. My husband and I are on vacation in New Orleans, we drove specifically to PJS, to get coffee and beignet. The drive was 20 min out of our way and we had been here the day before. Today at Pjs shop located 5733 Read Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70127, my husband and I went to get two medium mocha, one decaf and 3 beignet with white chocolate and no powdered sugar. After coming home, we got two medium hot chocolate, 3 beignets with powdered sugar, no white chocolate. I called the store and informed them, a guy replied with we can come back and have it reordered. I thanked the guy and said I won't be able to come right now after coming home. (We are going to church) I asked if we could stop by later. The guy had a to ask a manager. The manager is on the phone and asked what happened. I explained everything and wanting to pick up later. She replies with an irritated voice, we can do that and we would have to return the beignets and the hot chocolate. So having to drive out of our way again, we have no coffee or breakfast and then having to save coffee and beignets getting old and drive another 40 Min total to get coffee and beignets for a mistake the shop did? I took pictures to proof what we got. The manager just seemed so irritated and was at no help for us. That was a horrible experience and waste of money and time. The customer service definitely has room for improvements. Now remember we are on vacation, we have to be out from our stay at 11, go to church before then, and drive to this place. Having a PJs in the east is a great thing. For several years I would work in the East all the time. I always complained to myself about the lack of good coffee shops. Coffee fuels my work and my life so I always scope out the best ones when I work in an area. When I drove down Read one day and saw PJs I was ecstatic. This location of PJs took over what appeared to be a bank or some similar type building. I love repurposed buildings so that was a huge plus. The staff here have always been very friendly and service oriented whether inside or at the drive thru. Besides great staff, the coffee has always been the high quality, best iced coffee, that all PJs locations are known for. Plus, it's the only game in town. I don't work out this way very much anymore, but I will make sure and stop in whenever I am in the area. If you find yourself in the east and in need of coffee, you now know where to go. read more

I'm at a coffee shop or eating place everyday and have been for the last 25 years. This PJ's is one of the best. When you walk in the door, they acknowledge you. They ask for your order and then they repeat it to make sure they get it right. I sat down and they brought the item to my table, which I wasn't expecting. I worked for several hours and noticed work efficiency. They weren't running all over the place being busy, but every person working had a clear purpose. Not a coffee drinker, but was in the mood for some on this chilly Sunday! I wanted to support this NO East business so I stopped in and ordered the Caramel Creme, but not really sure if it is coffee. The young man that took my ordered was very kind and mannerable. The service at the window was also great. My only issue was that my beverage wasn't hot like I expected. I expect to get a little burn on the tongue when taking that first sip to see how long I need to wait before truly indulging. My beverage was on the verge of being cold when getting on the interstate. It tasted very good, just not hot. I wonder if it's suppose to be cooler? I will pop it in the microwave when I get home and enjoy rest of it. I will give it another try when I am in the mood, maybe it was just an off time. The coffee is weak, no flavor. I ordered an oat milk latte. It tasted like warm milk without coffee. I also ordered a scone and it was burned. It seemed as if it may have been heated up in a microwave because it was way too hot which caused it to be hard. read more

So I decided to give this pjs another go! I have gone a few times since my last review, only because the owner (at the time, I'm not sure if they have changed owners) reached out to me and ensured that they were working on things. So after pouting for several months I had a hankering for some Pj's and since it the closest to my house I had to go! I will say Benjamin has helped me multiple times and and is always very nice and has my order ready! ! @pjsreadblvd highly disappointed. No longer taking phone orders. I've had orders incorrectly made, promised a delivery to my job and not even received a call back. One of the young ladies is always rude. And they are slow, yet I'm always going. The whole point in calling ahead is so you wouldn't have to wait. And the tipping comment "it's totally up to you" crawls under my skin. A simple would you like to leave a tip today is fine. I know it's up to me and even then I still leave a tip. I can't comment on the decor or interior, but I did have an excellent experience at thr drive thru. I asked LOTS of questions, and the batista was so patient. I finally decided on a white chocolate latte and spinach feta croissant. I was starving, so I tried a piece of the croissant. It was gross. It tasted old and like it in a container for a while. I gagged. Maybe it would've tasted better if it was fresher but this literally turned my stomach. I will probably be back but I'm not ordering food. read more

Stopped in on a hot Sunday afternoon for some leisure reading and journaling. Upon entering, this is the nicest PJs I've ever been to. The decor and furniture is a Restoration Hardware vibe, a nice addition to New Orleans East. I received a warm welcome from the cashier and after a quick and pleasant exchange, i received my iced chai with almond milk. Wasn't the best iced chai I've had, but i chopped it up to preference. I would love, if they don't already have them, for them to transition to sip cups or paper straws. I love the variety of seating which includes chairs, tables, sofa, counter seating, as well as outdoor tables and chairs. There's also parking in the front and i think along the side. It was a bit loud for my preference, as i came to read, but i understand it's not a library lol. However, after a short while, I'm assuming the manager or owner, while greeting customers, asked if the music was too loud. I love coffee & tea and am very excited to have not just a coffee shop, but one as beautiful as this PJs in my neighborhood. I hope this is a glimpse of the future of New Orleans East. read more

I love this coffee shop for its homey ambiance, courteous and attentive staff, and exceptionally clean bathrooms. Despite being pretty busy each time I've been, it's not too loud so is a great workspace and perfect small group (2-4 ppl) meeting location. Peach tea lemonade, drip coffee, and coffee cake (warmed on request) are my fav menu items! Great place for the employees of the businesses nearby and a nice retreat from the louder coffee shops closer to the CBD. Also the perfect stop when heading out of New Orleans (going east). Customer service was the best I've experienced in the area. Although I was not impressed with the coffee. I had two different types of Velvet ice one with protein and sugar-free, the other regular with the blueberry crumble (seasonal). I also had the southern wedding cake latte with oat milk. I am so thankful for this coffee shop! I grew up in New Orleans East and usually had to drive about 20 minutes just to get a cup of coffee in the morning. PJs is classic New Orleans and I am appreciative that they expanded their franchise to this important New Orleans neighborhood. Whenever I come home to visit my parents, I make sure to go to PJs every morning. I am a fan of their spinach and feta croissants and their iced mochas at all locations, but this one comes with great service and such a cute location.
