I wanted to like this place, because New Orleans is a huge part of my childhood. But, this is the worst latte I've ever had. It truly tasted like water and cost a good bit too. I ordered an iced latte with an extra shot, and it was ready so quickly that I was confused (literally around 10 seconds). I didn't hear the espresso machine at all. There's no way it could've been made to order at that speed. It tasted like I got a splash of cold brew, milk, and water. It honestly made me a bit mad feeling like I was tricked. I let my husband try it, and he was also shocked how it didn't taste like coffee at all. There were no other customers there at the time. The pastries on display looked pretty sad, and they were out of king cake (a day or two before Mardi Gras). Not worth going back, sadly. read more

I made my first visit to PJ's last week. Lauren, who I presume was the owner was really lovely. They were out of beignets (the main reason for coming), but she was kind enough to offer me some coffee for the disappointment. As Mom and I were out enjoying the last day of summer in the middle of winter, she came out to say she found a sole order and wondered if I'd be interested in having it. Of course, we would! Not super fresh, she warned, but they were still delightful! I would definitely come back and support this small business, despite the longish drive! Next time, I'd rather try the straight up chicory coffee as the latte masked the chicory flavor a bit. read more

I am so glad I found this coffee shop. Both times I have visited I have enjoyed the coffee drinks I've ordered, and this last time I got to try their beignets... and yummmmmm! The softness and texture of the beignets were on point, and it really reminded me of the famous ones back in New Orleans. The decor of the coffee shop is also super cute - open, modern, with hints of New Orleans in it. Odd experience. A girl with purple sweatshirt seemed to be not happy about taking order. And when the spinach pastry was made, she seemed angry when asking if I would like it for here or to go. The dough was still raw so I politely asked if she could heat it one more time. Now the store is empty except me and the 3 girls are laughing and goofing off. It felt like maybe customer service is not trained. It has been consistent. Except when owner is here. When owner is here, things are a little different. I think it's my last visit. read more

Excited to see PJ's open in the neighborhood and it has made a great walk to place for me. Entering the location this morning, the staff was very friendly and helpful. By 8am, every table was taken and the drive thru was hopping. I opted to sit outside at the one cafe table and the road noise was easy to get use too. Their drink options are vast and many breakfast items include beignets with plenty of powdered sugar. There is ample parking and there is a need for some window shades and patio umbrellas for the early mornings. The store front faces the morning sun. I highly recommend, so make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy! read more

It was a happy mistake stumbling upon PJ's on our way home! Short version - this is a real NOLA brand and they have the right vibe. The Cafe au Lait and the Chai Tea Latte were both spot-on, but it was the beignets that put this over the top for us. Super staff here, too. OMG, this find makes us soooooooo happy. Twitter led me here and I am truly glad! I am always looking for a new coffee shop that is unique and delicious. I am also a self proclaimed matcha snob so I love finding coffee shops that serve matcha without sugar pre mixed in. Upon entering, I noticed the shop is very clean and bright with nice decor. The staff was very nice and helpful answering all the questions I had, especially those regarding dietary restrictions as I cannot have dairy. I ordered a drink that was recommended Velvet Matcha Ice w/ Oat Milk and a shot of espresso. I ordered a small and it was 8$ *audible gasp*! But it was delicious! TINY BUT MIGHTY! Unfortunately, the shop itself struggles with consistency. They are frequently sold out of basic items, and there always seems to be something out of stock or a machine that's broken. These ongoing issues make it hard to rely on this place, and it honestly feels like the business is poorly managed. If things don't improve soon, it's hard to see how this coffee shop will stay open much longer. read more

Ordered at drive through. Coffee was not particularly good. Flavor was ok but not a great cup at all. Didn't taste fresh even. I'm seriously disappointed. Egg bites were miserable. Way over heated (microwave??) and texture and flavor were not good at all. Would not reorder. Would love to return but the pjs app is a hot mess compared to competitors with no receipt provided and even the payment process was overly complicated. PJ's opened next to our home last year--it's a well-known New Orleans coffee chain, and it's been a nice little addition to the neighborhood. It's a small, cozy spot where you can comfortably sit and work for a few hours. What I really like is that it's never overly crowded, which makes for a calm, relaxed experience. I've tried a few of their coffees and while they're decent, nothing has really wowed me or kept me coming back just for the taste. They also serve the New Orleans-style beignets, which to me don't feel much different from regular donuts. Overall, I'd say it's a solid backup--a good spot to hang out if you're done with Starbucks and there aren't any standout specialty coffee places nearby. read more

I DoorDashed a drink from here on a day when I was struggling to be awake (two under two mom life) and went with their iced peppermint mocha because I was feeling festive and I'm making a conscious decision to try coffee from other places that are not Starbucks. This drink was lovely! There were peppermint candy bits on top that added the perfect flavor and the peppermint mocha in here was just right. my sister got the frozen hot chocolate and absolutely loved it as well. Many places don't do their iced/blended drinks well, but this is not one of them! Their seasonal drink menu was pretty vast and it was tough to pick just one. I can't speak to the ambience obviously, since I wasn't there, but I look forward to checking it out in person. read more

Coffee was horrible. I got the kings cake coffee (which was supposed to be the house special) it was horrendous. Taste like watered and cinnamon. The beignets were regular. I love trying new coffee places and I've driven by here a few times and decided to try it. I ordered a white chocolate cappuccino online and picked it up at the drive thru window. It was sweet because of the white chocolate, but that's how I like it. And they give you the option of very hot or normal temperature. I usually have to wait 5-10 minutes for the coffee to cool, but at normal temp, I could drink right away. Definitely going back and definitely recommend it. read more

I love this coffee! Honey Oat Milk Latte is so good. Beignets are always warm and delicious. If you are Lavender fan you must try the Lavender Lattes. Was excited to try this place. Ordered a Green Tea Velvet off their menu through the drive through. Got a matcha velvet instead. Went inside to ask and was rudely told that matcha is green tea. While yes it is the color green, matcha has a very different taste than green tea. You need to update your menu and not be so rude. read more

They have very good coffee. I ordered a medium roast, just as a starting point and it's just what a medium roast should be. Not too dark, not under roasted, just good. Atmosphere is like a standard coffee shop, lots of blender noise, some chairs and tables, outdoor there's a table and two chairs, plus a park bench. That's it. It's a small place, tight. I can see it easily being overcrowded. They have all sorts of coffee flavored drinks and an interesting assortment of sweet and savory pastries. Is get coffee here again. read more
