It's a little ways away from the campus, where we were staying, but not that far, maybe 10 minutes. I'm really glad we did. What a nice restaurant, and extremely busy, which is a great sign. From the beginning, everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was about a 30 minute wait, which considering how busy it was, not a bad wait time. So we went outside to wait, they have a couple of water dispensers filled with ice cold lemon water. There are some coverings, a couple of benches in the shade. There is also a gentleman who was running a drink station so you can get coffee, Gatorade, etc. they have done a really great job of making sure people are comfortable and cool in the Florida heat. It was almost exactly 30 minutes and we were seated. The menu is everything you expect from a breakfast/brunch place. They also have a nice selection of specials that look really fun and different. I was starving, so I ended up ordering a little bit of everything. It was great, French toast, eggs, bacon, hash browns, etc. you can't go wrong with. We were well taken care of by everyone. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

I spoke to manager Angie who assured me she was "sorry" but after several days with gluten after effects unfortunately this flat apology fell short. I would not come here again because I don't think they took the matter seriously or really cared. If you have any food issues, allergies or intolerances please spend your money, time, and good health on any of the numerous other places in Gainesville.

Our server, Devon, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We tried a little bit of everything, including the Maria's Benedict, kids' pancakes, kids' chicken tenders, half Cobb salad, Benny Burger, and the Louisiana-style gumbo with cheesy grits. Everything was flavorful and nicely prepared. The kids especially enjoyed their meals, and the gumbo and grits were a standout for us! We're so glad we decided to try Another Broken Egg Cafe for the first time and will definitely be coming back!

Was really excited to come do some writing here. The place was crowded, but there was an available…read moresmall table, so I sat down to write. The furniture is sturdy but not necessarily comfortable, but it was good to have a chair with a back due to all my back injuries. About fifteen minutes later, a barista came up to me and politely told me it was a "No Laptop Zone" and I had to move to either the bar seating or outside. That's my bad for not reading the sign taped to the table, but at this point there aren't any groups of friends coming in to have personal connections. But okayyyy so I move to the bar seating and it hurt my back to sit there. Since I have a glass, I decided to move to the outdoor table until I finished so I could go work somewhere else? The outdoor table is super sticky and also not comfortable (very flimsy metal patio/cafe sets. Not a lot of space for your belongings). Not only that, a toddler in the "no laptop" area is hitting a wooden car on the windows and tables and I'm not sure how I'm not allowed to sit there, but unruly toddlers are. Very glad to have those personal connections. Anyway, I've been here a few times and the coffee has always been good and I like to get the interesting flavors. I've never had food here, but as someone who grew up eating tacos constantly, my friend's breakfast taco that she got once looked standard but personally I can't speak on that, but I think if you're just looking for a coffee it's fine? But if you're looking for a cozy place to work, the furniture is super uncomfortable and just be wary of their no laptop tables. If I had known this would be my situation, I probably would have chosen one of the other coffee shops in Gainesville that has cozier seating and more free work areas.

The food is super fresh, made with great ingredients, and is full of flavor. I also really appreciate that are seed-oil free! This particular location is in Midtown located right by UF's campus. With that being said, it can get busy. But I have found that they always do a great job managing this and keep the line moving. The inside is kept very clean--which is always appreciated. The service is also really pleasant as the workers are all super nice, patient, and accommodating. While Bolay may be considered "pricier", I really think the prices are fair. Especially when you consider how much food you get and the quality of the food. I always opt for a Large Bol which includes up to 4 grains, green, or veggies, 2 proteins, 3 toppings, and a sauce of your choosing. I consistently opt for their kale salad, sweet potatoes, garlic broccoli, and steak in my bowls. I like to switch up the bases sometimes and get their noodles or their Forbidden Rice (which I've really enjoyed lately). I've also been enjoying their chicken thighs, but I can attest that all of their proteins are delicious! I really just love how fresh and flavorful everything is. I don't know how they cook their sweet potatoes and broccoli specifically, but whatever they do--it's magical. Overall, I know I can rely on Bolay for a great, satiating, healthy meal through and through! I have never had a bad experience here and always look forward to placing order.
