Beware of low maintenance yard installs! The drip irrigation installed has never worked properly and the extent of the warranty is a single follow-up visit. They say it's our fault all of the plants are dying. If I wanted a brown yard, I would've kept the lawn! read more

Synopsis: I find this company's communication to be unprofessional and unreliable. The good part: I first contacted PJM Landscape via their answering machine (The message says this is the offices of PJM Landscape and Jarco Land). They called me back very quickly. I told them what work I was interested in and they made an appointment with me to have Rodney Gollbech of Jarco Land come out to my home the next work day to scope out the work effort. I texted some photos to the office to prepare Rodney for the project. Rodney arrived at the specified date and time. When he arrived he said that he had not received the photos from the office so I had to waste time trying to locate them to share with him. Rodney seemed very personable and interested in my projects. He even saved me some money by persuading me that I did not need to have one of the projects done. He then made extensive measurements of my property line with the intent to replace and install new wood fencing. He told me that he would provide an itemized listing of each section so that I could split the costs with my neighbors. We then discussed repairing an existing chain-link gate and installing some new underground plumbing to add some outdoor water faucets. So far, I was very impressed with the company. The bad part: I sent Rodney several texts to his cell number after his visit which he never acknowledged. I left several voice mails to Rodney at the same cell number but he never called me back. I left voice mails at PJM Landscaping which were not returned. I contacted a live person at the main Jarco Landscaping office number and explained that I was not receiving any replies to my texts nor having my phone messages returned. She said, "Oh, that's not good!" She told me that Rodney was in the office and that she would speak to him and have him call me right back. I have not been contacted at all. It has been two weeks since his visit. Update #1 (8/14/2020): Within about one hour of posting this review, the president of Jarco Landscaping, Ricardo Garcia, emailed me their work estimate. The estimate was well done and the costs seem to be reasonable - I'll know better once I receive the competing bids. I still don't have a very good perception of this company because of their poor communication experience. But I have changed the rating from a 1 to a 2. Update #2 (8/18/2020): I just got a call from Rodney. After some discussion, I found out that I did not have his correct cell phone number, so I can no longer fault him for not returning my texts or phone messages to his cell number. However, I'm still concerned that I did not get a call back the day that I spoke to the lady in the main office who said that she would have him call me that afternoon and for the unanswered texts and voice mail messages that I left at the PJM Landscape office number. I'm now bumping the rating from a 2 to a 3. read more

I have been using PJM for yard maintenance for about 10 years. They typically do a decent job. Concerns...1) they change the weekly schedule without notifying us 2) they do not completely blow off the lawn after cutting it 3) they are messy at times and do not completely finish the weekly job 4) the office rarely returns phone calls. The best thing is that they are cheap. I have looked at other yard maintenance businesses, but they can't touch the price that PJM charges. I guess you get what you pay for. I just wish they were a little more detail oriented and finish the weekly job. Update: I cancelled service. They changed the day of service without notifying us again and didn't show for two weeks. On top of that they didn't pick up dead leaves and left cut grass over the yard. I would not recommend them, very unprofessional and sloppy work. read more

This company is very poor with no respect for people's belongings the just left where i live and without consideration & knowingly blew leafs and sticks ALL over my car because instead of doing there job with integrity or respect for other people's things they just did a crap job and left.... WAY TO GO PJM ON YOUR TRASH WORKERS. read more

This company is sub standard and very unprofessional management. We have 3 large facilities and after asking for their different crews to please do what the contract specifies and over months and months if not a year, finally gave up on them and found a new company. Zero stars! read more

I finally got my husband to agree to hiring professionals to get our front yard cleaned up. The owner of Paul came to our home to quote us for the job - "reasonable fee". He was friendly and reassured us that the job be done within the week. I came home from work today, to a fresh front yard, mowed lawn, & trimmed bushes. Friendly service, Prompt turn around time, & most important reasonably charged. read more

Horrible work! As another reviewer said, one star is too generous. Leaf-blowers go onto patios and blow leaves into homes while destroying plants. Welcome mats are a game to them to see how far they can toss them. (Neighbor found mine.) Asking them not to only presents a challenge. If you have fruit trees or produce, they'll help themselves, too. Should be "PJM Demolition" Oh, hide or cover your car as well. I had a chipped windshield from their games. read more

Paul came out to give us an estimate for a new fence, he was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. His smile was charming, but as we told him how we wanted our new fence built, he was not listening. He built the fence the way he wanted, with no attention to detail, it seemed he just wanted to cut corners to make it easier. The entire fence shows carelessness and looks thrown together. Communication was extremely poor. He makes excuses for his workers mistakes. Our brand new fence has band-aids all over it. If we wanted an "okay" fence we would have built it ourselves, but we decided to trust a "professional" who really let us down. eHow can tell you step by step how to build a board on board fence and this guy could use those directions. In our opinion, from this experience, the business as a whole is sloppy. read more

Here's an update since I reviewed them a few months ago. My friend who I recommended PJM to has now cancelled service and is using my new wonderful gardener who has NEVER missed his scheduled day. The final straw for her was the day of her service she was going to run errands while the gardener was there as she has gone before. When she got home she had no phone , cable or internet as the gardeners cut the wire while they were trimming bushes. They DIDN'T even leave a note to let her know. She had to pay for this repair out of her pocket. This company could care less about its clients. If u want crappy service & your property damaged that u have to pay for them call them but I can't believe anyone would want that. PJM is a horrible business and the owners just don't care as long as they get your money for services not performed read more

This business makes big mistakes. I had the most beautiful walkway anywhere, flowers all year round, and Paul the owner hired a new Mexican who said he doesn't speak English, without giving him the proper instructions he ruined my most beautiful yard. He cut all of my plants down to almost nothing. He had absolutely no right to touch those plants!! I wonder if they'll make it. I spent 18 years growing them. No one has a right to touch my plants but me! Paul was hired by the home owners assoc to do the landscape around our 34 units. I don't think it's because of this mistake but he now has been let go. He apologized but I feels he owes me more than an apology. I had 6 different beautiful type flowering plants, and now I wonder if they'll live. I deserve more than an apology. Big unnecessary mistake that I'll see for life. read more

We hired PJM to remove a large tree and replace our front & back lawns including irrigation. As the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for" although in our case I'm not sure that is even true. The job needed complete oversight from us every step of the way. The tree was removed but way too much of the debris from the stump removal was left in the soil. That combined with an over abundance of organic material they spread under the new sod led to a massive invasion of mushrooms that have taken over the lawns. We called them out to look at it. They called Park Avenue Turf to do a soils test which confirmed that the prep under the sod was too thick and the cause of the mushroom issue. PAT recommended, short of replacing both lawns completely, the lawns would have to be sprayed with a fungicide on an every 14-day schedule until they were eradicated. PJM was supposed to let us know when the spraying was happening so we could keep our pets & children off of them...never heard anything. When we called, they would send out a crew member to rake up the mushrooms and then leave. This went on for six months. No spraying ever happened. Two years later we are still dealing with our lawn COVERED with mushrooms. They were told of a low spot in the back lawn that needed to be leveled before they put down the sod because of poor drainage....nope. The low spot is still there and despite the drought is still boggy. We were told they would use a certain brand/type of sprinkler head. They didn't and we had to call multiple times to have them come back out and change them for what we had paid for. The new set of irrigation valves they put in broke underground causing an ongoing leak for months. So from design, which was awful, to execution, to follow-through, PJM was a disaster. I would never recommend them to anyone. If I could give a zero star rating I would. read more

I have used PJM for over 15 years with no complaints. Paul and his employees are knowledgeable and courteous. PJM handles our lawn maintenance, tree trimming and multiple special projects. Wouldn't use any other company. read more

Do not use this company, their employees are very rude, and barely speak english. Ive politely asked them not to cover my vehicle in dust and leaves multiple times and now its like they enjoy COVERING it with dust/debris and leaves rifled up by their extremely loud gas powered leaf blowers, never seen them use a rake. It looks as though they shovel dirt on my vehicle when their done. Also, massacred rose bushes! Very unhappy, given them MANY chances, will not continue using their service. Stronly suggest you use a company that actually cares about their customers. read more

Great job at a great price. Used PJM Landscaping to thin a a large oak tree which overhung neighbor's house. They were very careful, meticulous about clean-up, and the oak has never looked so good. read more

This business doesn't even deserve one star, but there is no other choice. This company is contracted to clean the yard of my mothers neighbor twice a week. Recently, my 78 yr old mother was out in her driveway, which is right next to the neighbors yard. The employees of this service were blowing leaves from the neighbors yard over the connecting fence and onto her driveway. She figured they would come over and clean them up. When they got into their truck to drive away, my mother called out to them asking if they were going to clean up the leaves they blew into her driveway. The employees reluctantly got out of their truck to clean up the leaves. My mother overheard one of the men saying "We don't see you cleaning up the leaves of your walnut tree that fall into J**'s yard". How disrespectful to speak to an elderly woman like this!! My mother does all her own yard work the best she can. Her neighbors have never asked her to clean up the leaves of her tree that fall into their yard as she has never asked them to clean up the leaves of their tree that fall into her driveway. The people of this company need to learn some respect. They need to fire the employee that treats people this way!! read more
