My family and I hosted a baby shower here. Service and food deserve 5 stars. We loved the lamb chops, black truffle Mac n cheese, pizzas and the burrata salad. Everything was served hot and packed with plenty of flavor. Definitely recommend adding their chili crunch to the pizzas. The pizza ovens are huge here and each pizza had the perfect crispy crunch. When you enter there's plenty of indoor seating and a large bar. I loved the high ceilings and open kitchen concept. Upstairs is reserved for private events and there was a nice outdoor patio. We were in town for a basketball tournament. This is our first visit ever to Sofia so we weren't sure what to expect. It's located in a shopping area called Dix30. We parked underground it was a Friday night so the place was buzzing. We were lucky to get a table right away. You could make reservation via OpenTable however there is a deposit required and we didn't want to pay in case we couldn't make it so we took our chance. There were two hosts. The younger gentleman was friendlier than the older one. We were seated and it took awhile before our server came to say hi. I think there is a different level of service if you could speak French or not. We ordered the calamari and shrimp to start, it was SO good. The calamari was nicely breaded and the shrimp was tasty. We ordered two pizzas to try. One was the margarita and the other was Americana (comes with prosciutto - it was too salty so I could finish the meat portion). The Mac and cheese was really good. Our little one loved it. We asked for the truffle on the side. We didn't order any dessert because we were too full. It's a nice vibe and a great spot for a large group. Been awhile since we visited here @ Sofia's in Dix30. It was the first weekend without a mask in Quebec and on this sunny day this place was packed. The waitress was very attentive to us and she knew the menue well when we asked questions on certain meals and she was good in wine pairing. Known for their pizza oven pies, they also have a wide list of wine selections. A bottle can go from $65- almost $2000. I had finished work early and decided to stop by DIX30 for a little early supper date and meet up with my girl. There were a few places to choose from and when I saw that Sofias had opened a location here I was super excited! I was starving and wanted to eat something right away our waiter said it was no problem and that he would ring up our appetizers to start. We went with the cacio and pepe arancini which were amazing. The portion was alright but the food came out super quick and was much appreciated. I couldn't choose if I wanted pizza or pasta because they were so many items screaming my name. Lucky for me my girlfriend was also starving and said we could split a pizza. The pizza we shared was a "white" style pizza with cheese potato's and Parma ham . This pizza was super cheesy but held up great. The pasta dishes we got were a mushroom parpadelle and a spaghetti bolognese. The pasta tasted fresh and each plate was super yummy. Ordered from here for takeout this evening. I was craving chicken parm and pasta, and they advertised it as coming with spaghetti. The price rage was quite high, but I figured maybe it will be amazing. It isn't. No pasta, instead it arrived with soggy roasted vegetables that they placed under the chicken. The chicken was completely bland, sauce tasteless, even the cheese had no flavour except for basil, because they put it raw on top. I like basil, but not as a meal. Yummy food in my tummy! I devoured the pizza like it was my last meal on earth! They were just soooo good. My new found friends and I had pizzas: calabrese, capicollo, romana, and manymore that I can't pronounce or spell properly LOL but they were sure delicious and mouth watering! As for the drinks, the don't have a menu BUT they will ask what you like and try to mix a drink suitable to your liking. And I loved mine, I was too distracted with drinking my amazing cocktail that I forgot to ask what she mixed in it (sooo sorry). Update: The drink is a mixture of White Rhum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, and orange juice (I had to ask my friend). I definitely recommend coming here. It reminds me of scaddabush. Who? Pizzeria Sofia What? Italian restaurant Why? Pizzeria Sofia will definitely satisfy your Italian cravings. From pasta to pizza, this place has it all! We were there on a Friday night and the place was packed, so definitely reserve before going. We ordered aperol spritz which was mostly ice(15$), fritto misto (fried calamari and shrimps), tortellini rosée and pizza burrata. The plates are definitely not cheap, but the quality was there! The best plate was the tortellini rosée, the sauce was exquisite. One of the biggest issue with this place is how slow the service was (about 80 minutes to get our plate). Also, they do not offer tap water, you have to pay for an Eska bottle (5$) which is pretty ridiculous considering water is free everywhere else. Price: around 50$/person read more

Stylish atmosphere, kind service, wide selection of items. I was very happy to stumble upon Pizzeria Sofia. The interior design was "goals" and the food was very satisfying. I was only surprised by the fact that the pizzas weren't pre-cut but maybe it's so that the pizza is more aesthetically pleasing when it arrives at the table. I would probably ask if they could cut the pizza before it arrives at the table because it was somewhat hard to cut the thin pizza with my fork and knife. I will definitely go to this restaurant again in the future and recommend it to anyone in the DIX30 area. read more

I have very few experiences that I can truly commend service I received at a restaurant- Sofia is probably on the top for south shore restaurants. I was immediately greeted with a smile upon sitting. Utensils were changed for every course without asking. The server checked up on us multiple times to ensure we were satisfied and we did not have to wait to receive our bill since they were quick make note when we were done our meal. That being said I wasn't crazy about typically high priced pizza and entrees. Items priced above 16$ + is a tad high. The shrimp tempura for an appetizer (3/5) came in four pieces with a side salad and drizzled in spicy mayo; we split a truffle Mac n cheese (2/5) looked nothing like man n cheese and I could smell the truffle but couldn't taste it; the seafood pizza (3/5) was large and had mostly calamari along with mussels and large shrimp but the tomatoe sauce could use more seasoning. I loved that they use traditional ovens to bake their pizza. The wine list is elaborate, but no cocktail list unfortunately. I asked for an old fashioned and it was too watered down. 5 stars for service + 3 star food. read more

The waitress was kind and took it off the bill after seeing that we were not advised upfront that they charged for water. We asked what was the reasonin behind charging for water. The food was amazing, adorable restaurant and taste fresh. My sister and I entered the restaurant, someone greeted us right away and gave us a table of our preference. We ordered the pizza with eggplant and ricotta cheese, a Caesar salad and a beef tartare to share. The pizza was thin and delicious. The Caesar salad was very fresh, it has small bits of bacon, home made croutons and just the right amount of dressing. As for the beef tartare it was a good amount to share for 2 and had these fried onions on top as garnish. The food was a 5 out of 5, my only complaint is the service. Our waiter seemed quite unfriendly and didn't seem like he was interested in his job. He took a really long time to come see us after we were done our meals. I was looking for a nice Italian classic pizza and we decided to try pizzeria Sofia. I want to get something that will remind me of my trip in Italy so i went for the classic Margherita pizza, fresh tomato sauce, fresh di buffalo cheese. It was simple but very good. Tomato sauce was sweet and the crust was well done, crispy and soft in the middle. Very delicious. We also wanted to try a pasta dish so we went for the pardadelle braised lamb, the egg pasta were al dante but the braised lamb was savory and sweet cherry tomatoes were a nice combination! I will take that again. For appetizer, we had the fried calamari with a safran mayo, it was okay nothing to fall down the chair, i personally prefer like thick piece of calamari compared to the tiny rings. Went with family for a birthday dinner. Ambiance is nice but spoiled by what can only be described as mind numbing music with a bass beat of way too many decibels. Worst surprise was the unavailability of any tap water and we had to buy three bottles of bottled water at five dollars each. Never experienced this in any restaurant before. This newly opened restaurant is a great place at the Square, Dix30. I went there on lunch time during weekdays. Ambiance is really nice with wooden ceilings, nice architecture, cozy feeling. I shared bruschetta as an antipasto (appetizer) with a friend. Among a wide range of cold and hot pizzas, we first ordered Parma pizza, which has tomatoe sauce, prosciutto, aragula and parmesan. Then, we had Capicollo pizza, which has tomatoe sauce, capicollo, green olives and peppers. Pizzas were beautiful, made from fresh ingredients and had thin crust. They were also big enough. Really disappointed. My family was looking for a place to eat during our shopping this past weekend and we chose Sofia. The decor is really nice but not the rest. My family and I had a hard time reading and understanding the menu. We all made different choices (Salad, pasta, pizza) and we all were disappointed. The ceasar salad had a weird mayonaise taste, the pasta wasn't that great as well as the pizza. Too pricy for what you get. 85$ for 1 coke, 1 pizza, 1 salad 1 pasta dish. First time there. Thought we would pop in for a glass of wine before heading home. Always like sitting at the bar so we did. Nice ambiance and smiling pleasant staff. Bar stools not so much. Mine had a back on it small as it was. My stool wobbled and the small round seat was exactly that - small. Fit for a small tight pointed butt :) definitely not suited for more than one glass of wine. We did however decide to share a pizza. Perhaps the pepperoni I asked for doesn't exist in Quebec because it was substituted with sausage which unfortunately made the pizza greasy. The crust then became somewhat soggy. Flavour was good. Next time if I go back which I may just to see what next time brings I will make sure we don't ask for pepperoni on anything. I noticed a little patio upstairs from outside the restaurant. Our bartender server whose name we didn't get was nice and attentive. Knew what to say when I suggested the pizza was oily. I understand that rush hour can be a lot for them, but is it really so hard to come check up on us at least once during the meal? Came here for a few private events at their upstairs area. The food has been on point every time that I've gone. They serve mainly Italian food and none of the dishes disappointed. We keep trying out new places because..well..Montreal is packed with tons of restaurants and it doesn't make sense to keep going to the same old places over and over again. That being said, experiences like the one we had here make me want to keep going to my reliable restaurants in the city because, well...ugh. Yes, UGH. On a nice afternoon, hubby and I walked into this restaurant to try something new. We settled with the octopus to start, and I had the salmon tartare while he had the grilled chicken. It took about 15-20 min for our starter to come out, and it wasn't really worth the wait. I've had much better octopus elsewhere, but it wasn't terrible so I didn't really mentally dock a star at that point (because that's what I do...mentally rate all places I go to :p). 45 minutes in, and still no main dishes, we were starting to get annoyed. Finally, after asking about the status of our meals, we got both plates (55 minutes into our arrival by this point), and I found myself confused at the sight of my tartare. Never before have I seen a salmon tartare literally swimming in oil. I am in no way exaggerating here but the salmon was coated in an orangey oil and sat on top of a bed of avocado, which was then swimming in a good millimeter or two of the same oil. Although I found it weird, I had high hopes (because really, how can you mess up salmon tartare)? Turns out you can. Never have I had a tartare that tasted like spoonful after spoonful of oil. I even found myself thinking that it was such a shame to mask the flavor of the salmon with this strong tasting oily marinade because really, that's all I could taste. Needless to say, I rated my plate a 0/5 since it tasted like nothing and was really annoyed at the end of my meal that I ate what basically oil with a side of fish and avocado..... Hubby liked his chicken dish but wasn't crazy about it. End this with an $80+ bill, and you can be sure that we will never be back. Maybe we should've stuck with the pizza (which looked great)...too bad we'll never find out! read more

I've been here several times (6 times to be exact). This is my go to place for delicious pizza and entrées. The terrasse upstairs is charming in the summer. The service was attentive. The Buffalo mozzarella entrée was amazing ! I love all their pizzas Next visit I will try the pasta dishes. **One warning though, it's exceptionally noisy during peak hours and I have caught myself yelling to my dinner date because it got so loud. read more

Food is pretty good, but we sat and waited for it for an hour and a half. With three kids, any restaurant should know well enough that service can't be this slow. Also, like many establishments in Quebec these days, make sure someone at your table speaks French. If you speak English, the attitude you get is rediculous. read more

Amazing pizza! The crust is perfect! The pasta is not bad. The staff is friendly. However, there is no english menu which makes things a bit difficult for us.
