Just in town for a quick trip. Wanted some pizzas and decided on this place because it was close. Well, I had asked for crispy.... I am not sure how you burn a pizza and the crust is still soft... super weird. I would suggest maybe don't offer the crispy if you can't do it without burning it. You can see the burnt crust and see how it bends over because it's soft. Be better try harder. Pizza is mediocre at best. Maybe I got food on a not so good day but I'm not impressed. read more

My hubby & I agree - 5 stars! Food was fresh, interesting, quick and the staff were awesome. Pizzeria Nomad wasn't our planned choice, but so glad we happened upon it. We were traveling and wanted to try Doug's Bar-B-Que which was closed. Heads up he sells out very early and then is closed. As we were discussing where else to go, we noticed the steady the flow of business here. It advertised Wood Fired Pizza so we were drawn in. So glad. We had sit down service and were greeted warmly & attentively. Tori asked if we'd been in before and because we hadn't she shared that they make 12" pizza which serve 1-2 and many people add a salad or appetizer to have a full meal. We got the Spinach Arugula salad with the most amazing/flavorful dark Grapes, Walnuts, Sun-Dried Tomato, Feta with a Creamy Bacon Vinaigrette. Because we still had BBQ on the brain we selected the Brisket Pie. I'm sorry to say o neglected to the other we lady's name, but she was a wealth of knowledge on how Pizza Nomad came to be. How the owner started in a food truck and built his own wood-fired pizza oven they use. We will keep Pizza Nomad on our list of places to stop while traveling through Amarillo. read more

This place was amazing! After reading a few reviews, I called ahead to make sure there would be room for 12 of us. They were kind enough to reserve a few tables for me and were even able to accommodate the fact that we turned into a group of 13 at the last minute. The food was so delicious! We ordered about 6 different pizzas and each one was mouth watering. I was only able to get a picture of one cause we dove in as soon as they were set down. Lol! We ordered The Professional, Jalapeno Popper, Brisket Pie, Pepperoni, PPJ, and Spinach & Mushroom. We also got lots of wings (buffalo, bbq, and lemon pepper), a wedge salad and some macaroni for one of the kiddos. At the end we ordered a couple of Grilled Poundcakes. Every single bite of each item was packed with flavor! You will not be disappointed visiting this place. Seriously good pizza and wings! The wings were small but were crispy, juicy and very flavorful! Their ranch is fantastic too! The pizza was the star though! Got the Hasselhoff, Jalapeño Popper, Meatsweats, Burrata and Roni Con Queso. For sure the Hasselhoff was our favorite but all of them were perfectly cooked. Passing through Amarillo and we always try to give local restaurants our business and man, this place didn't disappoint. We had a half and half PPJ and jalapeño popper and the kids had a cheese pizza. Both were amazing. They also have a virtual restaurant, Bertys Burgers that's located inside Pizzeria Nomad so we checked them out for dinner... The Philly cheese steak is even better than the pizza, IMHO. Get the spicy fries and you won't be disappointed. We always enjoy supporting local places, and these people deserve all the love. read more

We've been to this wonderful spot about 6 times now. I am so surprised by their creativity every. Damn. Time. First off, what wood fired pizza place let's you do half and half with butter chicken on one side and a pesto veggie on the other?!? Never have I ever... Until now. Butter chicken pizza is out of this world! The dough taste just like wood fired naan. Wedge salad- yassss to their blue cheese dressing. I usually can't justify paying for iceberg lettuce, but this lettuce can take all money. Roni con queso- pepperoni pizza wearing a tuxedo shirt aka delicious Wings- not my fave, I couldn't love everything. Had the garlic parm and they didn't have enough garlic for me. Babaganoush- smokey goodness Fry guy- fried pickles, fries and fried mushrooms all together in harmony...and delicious Shrimp tacos- should be a permanent add to the menu! Absolutely loved the truck and now so happy with their new restaurant. More than just a business venture for them you can tell they truly love food and love delelighting their customers. Their approach is whimsical, inventive and a breath of fresh air for the Amarillo area. Their Pizza is delicious but surprisingly some of their best stuff is actually things you wouldn't expect from a pizzeria. I love the wings and their steak is actually delicious. Overall their food is worth coming back for over and over again (although admittedly things are sometimes inconsistent. Very different flavor and experience almost every time I've gone. Fortunately, none of them have been bad. I think this is just a matter of being new and different chefs making things differently and with time open they will gain a little bit more consistency. Personally I enjoy the variety and surprise because it allows me to tell them my preferences and they are VERY receptive to feedback). They have a nice rewards program where you can get free pizzas. The environment in ambiance is also fun. the look of the place has undergone quite a few changes as they find their niche and get things finalized. Now it has the aesthetic of a young hip almost countercultural vibe which matches with the playful interesting but always delicious food. Overall this is one of my favorite places to go in Amarillo and I wish it ultimate success. My only gripe is I wish the location was a little bit closer to places I personally frequent... But that's what opening more locations is for and hopefully someday soon they'll be able to haha. read more

I don't usually do reviews but I feel like I should give some feedback as to why we will be going from a 2-3 times a month regular customer to a maybe 1-2 per year customer. We will miss eating at your restaurant! You do truly have the best pizza in Amarillo so we won't take off any stars. As a family of 8, we gotta stretch them dollars to make them go further. The carry out special WAS one of the best deals in town, but now you've raised the price $4 for a medium and $8 for a large. Yikes! Might not seem like a huge issue if you only buy one pie, but when it takes 5-6 pies to feed said family of 8 which includes 3 teen athletes, the cost increases substantially! I get that prices go up but we're talking about a 65% increase. Too rich for our blood! We wish you luck though! read more

We are from out of town and we're visiting family. We decided to order pizza. After looking up pizza places with the best and most reviews...we settled on Pizzeria Nomad. I am not one to leave reviews however our burnt pizzas led me to leave one. Our pizza was so burnt that I even downloaded the Yelp app just so I could leave a review. We can handle a little char on the pizza crust and even the bottom but when every piece on the bottom is charred, that's unacceptable. These pizzas aren't cheap either! If we weren't on a tight schedule, I would've taken the pizzas back. Instead we scrapped the toppings off and had crust less pizza...if that's even a thing. There were 10 of us and everyone said "not again". So disappointing! read more

If you were looking for the best pizza in Amarillo, you found it. Since moving here last year we've had a lot of fun trying the many restaurants this town has to offer. I was surprised by how many great options there were for pizza and I'm pretty sure that we have tried them all. But after having pizza at Pizzeria Nomad, I doubt I will ever get pizza anywhere else in town again. I hate to say this but probably the worst pizza I've had. Now, your taste in pizza may be different than mine so consider that if you plan to try. We got the pepperoni and the "diablo queso" pizza. first off, I don't mind a floppy pizza but this one was charred on the bottom so it had a very distinct carbon burnt taste. The crust wasn't even yummy. The pepperoni was just layed on top and wasn't crispy (again, how I* like it) but every time I took a bite the pepperoni would just fall off instead of me being able to bite through it. And that was just the pepperoni pizza. The diablo pizza was supposed to have beer cheese?? It was just a drizzle on top. And was supposed to have a "freak sauce" whatever that is but didn't come with it. So, it's a drizzle of flavorless coagulated cream with chopped up pickled jalapenos and limp pepperoni. The saving grace was the canned miller light beer. My husband and I both agreed, it just felt sloppy. I hate writing bad reviews, I really do. So, it means something when I'm compelled to actually write one. Very disappointed. read more

Hands down, best pizza in Amarillo! This is the closest thing I've had to the pizza I enjoyed in Italy and dare I say it, I think it's even better! We've tried five different pizzas so far and not a single one has disappointed. Not only is the pizza delicious but the desserts are amazing! "Grilled pound cake" does not do this delicious creation enough descriptive justice. It's more like fluffy sliced heaven topped with creamy mascarpone clouds and a berry compote bliss. Think strawberry shortcake but not dry and 100x better! The cannolis are delightful as well! And no... I'm not exaggerating, Im usually the pickiest pizza eater ever, but I'm a very happy customer. Had pizza @ Nomad last night. It was perfect. Ordered the meatball appetizer and a pepperoni and mushroom for myself, my lady ordered a pesto mozzarella pie. I ended up eating my entire 12 inch pie. Your life will never be complete unless you have the meatball appetizer. It will become a shallow sad existence with a mountain of unanswered questions about missed culinary opportunities. If you don't give the Pizzeria Nomad a shot, then you should consider all your life choices in their entirety to ponder the shortfall of fantastic dining in your life.
