I went there today and everything about it was A-mazing!!! Sergio welcomed me with a smile and suggested the lunch special--at 5pm!!! I got a slice of pizza and a salad and a drink for only like 6 something dollars and it was ready in like 3 minutes. The pizza was insanely good and the salad bar had exactly all the things I want a salad bar to have including bacon bits, and macaroni salad and shredded cheese and corn. It's like the chef knows exactly what food should be! And not to mention they have a small arcade with Bust-a-move--my favorite game!!! Wow, it was like I had walked into a dream. Pizzamania is a slice of heaven. Thank you, Sergio! Oh! Also I should mention that I had come in two times prior to use the restroom (I'm a student at CSULB) and I didn't even purchase anything, and he let me both times without giving me any kind of attitude. Just happen to be passing by, wanting some good pizza. By looking over the reviews my boyfriend and I thought it was going to be worth stopping for, sadly to say is wasn't the customer service was horrible the Host was on his phone. As nice as I am I greeted first , and still the mood dry. Telling him 'this is my first time coming here" nd still the look on his face dry, while looking at the menu for a couple of minutes the gentleman says,"would you like it to go" while I see a family eating eating there meal I say "No Thank you It's for here" the gentleman looks over to the boss nd gives him a look , nd tells me "sorry we're just doing to go" so my boyfriend nd I Leave from the disappointment. Pizza's not bad, but service is f**king rude. I called in asking for a pizza to go. I asked for beef on my pizza (website said they had it), but guy answering abruptly said "we don't have beef.". Ok fine, so I put different meat. I asked, "how much is it? Is there a lunch special?" (Which the website also mentioned for individual pizza), but he just goes "no"...so I'm like alright, it's fine I'll just come in and see what you have, guy hangs up without saying anything. You don't have to be super polite, but man at least act like you want my business. I'm eating their pizza now out of hunger, but probably won't be coming back. The Good: Wow, this is probably one of the best pizzas I've had. The cheese is think and gooey; it's the kind of pizza where you pull a slice out and the cheese just stretches. The crust is baked to crunch, so you get good texture. There is also a salad bar, draft beer selections, and a big TV. The Bad: It's just far away from me. Definitely my favorite pizza! The crust is nice and crispy on the outside and wonderfully doughy on the inside.. The ingredients are always fresh and the veggies are never overcooked or soggy (yuck) like those other pizza places.... so you get the perfect crunch in every bite!! Love it! Home of countless CSULB Music Department "sectionals," "meetings," and "study groups"... I do think the pizza here is pretty good, and I like the crust, it's very tasty. The main attraction here, though, is the proximity to the Music Dept (the Dance Dept, too, I suppose). The Music Dept is too far away from the rest of campus for anyone to actually eat at a campus eatery, so this and the 7-11 and China Star are the default places to go to take a munchie break from hours of practicing and rehearsals. read more

Order your pizza with light cheese, which is equivalent to everybody else's regular cheese. My wife and I order a pepperoni pizza (again, with light cheese) at least once every other week. omg the cheese...its so cheesy delicious! the setup is you order a cheese pizza and then decide if u want to add up to 3 toppings. Its not actually that cheap, running about 5-7 bucks for your own personal pizza plus a drink add like 2. split a large amount 3 people, cheese pizza +3 toppings (pepperoni, olive, shroom): looked like they opened an entire can of diced olives onto the pizza which really was too much cuz all i could taste was salty olives and cheese. parking is the typical of old long beach where u have like 15 spots split among like 6-8 stores. pretty much if you show up during mealtimes, ull only get a spot if someones just leaving. soda was tasting off. cleanliness is not on the to-do list here as tables were dirty and the floor was ok not gonna look down. comparatively...if you're a student, its probably amazing esp considering the food on campus. if you're a foodie explorer its meh. For the kicker....as we left, i saw the tub of white shredded cheese sitting on a counter and was like "OH YUM" and then i saw this big fat raisin in the sea of white shredded cheese and as i stared at it for a little while, the raisin started moving...and then flew off...ah....great to see how they get the great flavor into that cheese hmm? read more

Delicious pizza! This is a great little pizza joint around the corner from CSULB. The ingredients are all natural unlike many other pizza places and obviously is what sets them apart. You can tell from the first bite as you sink your teeth into the thick layer of cheese, sauce, and crust. The pizzas here are pretty thick and hearty. The crust is deliciously a bit doughy which is great. As you can see by some of the pics people have posted it is a little greasy/oily which would really be my only criticism. BEST PIZZA EVER!!!! The crust is crispy on the outside but soft on the inside--it's perfect! I have never had crust this hoot anywhere else. They put just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The sauce is sightly sweet but not overly so. And the cheese is some sort of blend that is flavorful and melty and stringy in a good way!! The veggie is my fave as they pile TONS of still crisp and so fresh green bell peppers, red onions, and mushrooms. So freaking good!!! The pepperoni is delicious too--not too greasy and so flavorful! You won't be able to eat any other pizza and be satisfied after trying Pizzamania! Almost forgot...the guys who work there are super nice AND you can watch them tossing the crust in the air. Not too much to say about this place... to be honest it was just really average. They do give you lots and lots of cheese but most of the ingredients are a little bland. I can't really give it more than three stars because it just reminded me of one of my favorite pizza places in Lancaster on a bad day. Still My favorite pizza place in Long Beach. I have asked around and have gone to all the neighboring pizza establishments and this is by far my favorite. I have ordered enough from here that all I need to say is my Name and they know what I like. The staff is very friendly and have always been respectful. Favorite: You cannot go wrong with the special pizza. My fiance and I usually get the Large Special and make sure you eat it right away. Something about eating this pizza right after it is made is wonderful. The crust is soft and crunchy. The veggies compliment the flavor of the cheese. Sometimes I order extra sauce because the sauce is the kicker. Only Bad Mark: It is not open after 9pm. I wish it stayed open later but everything in Long Beach closes early. Thanks LBC! Never has a slice (or four...) of pizza tasted so glorious after a long, exhausting day of ultimate frisbee--until I came to PIzzamania. I knew this pizza was perfect when the cheese stretched apart from my mouth to whichever part of the pizza I bit on. The cheese was super thick, just the way I like it. The tomato sauce wasn't overpowering either, so that was a plus in my book. The exterior of the place looks kinda sketch but don't let that stray you from trying out some steamy goodness. If you want GODLY pizza.....then hit this place up. I love cheese.....and this places loves giving cheese and toppings. The amount of cheese they put on this thing makes it look like pizza from the teenage mutant ninja turtles cartoons. =] They definitely DO NOT cheap out on toppings here, so no need to ask for extra whatever cos they give ENOUGH! The crust is crispy where its suppose to be and not where it isn't. But if you're a CSULB student like me and haven't tried this place, definitely find a couple friends and give it a shot! its right behind structure 3 next to 7Eleven and the cheap boba place. The best pizza in long beach. I've been coming here for years and for good reason. Regardless of what you order it will be delicious. This is no nonsense pizza. Mom and pop pizza. Balls to the walls pizza. No gimmicks, games or BS. Just awesome sauce and your choice of fresh toppings. The sandwiches, wings and salad bar are great too. No complaints there. I eat here a lot and usually the pizza is the best, I came here last week and ordered a small pepperoni pizza and it was so gross. Totally burnt and the pepperonis were hard as rocks. It was inedible, I ended up eating 1 small slice because I was starving, I drank a lot of water while chewing to soften the pizza then I tossed the rest in the trash. I'm very disappointed in you Pizzamania, you can clearly see that the pizza is burnt when pulling it out of the oven, why would you even sell that to a customer? read more

My roomies and I are dedicated fans of Pizzamania, shunning any and all chain pizza places as long as this place is still open. The pizza is delish, and extra cheesy, and good prices! My main gripe is that they close too early (9 pm) and if you call after 8pm, good luck getting service! My roommate called at 8:20 to place an order, and after being on hold for about 6-7 minutes, she drove down there, still on hold, to find them cleaning up, with no customers in the place. This place does not try to major in ambiance or charming telephone conversation. Their focus is on making pizza and they do a damn good job....evidenced by the large patronage. Went there to pick up my medium sausage, mushroom and onion pizza (delicious). They were busy as usual and they were very friendly. The pizza maker shared some tips with me on tossing the dough in the air and then put on quite a show. Made the minutes spent waiting for my pizza entertaining and fun. I actually stayed a little longer to watch. The pizza here is consistently good. Perfect amount of sauce and cheese AND the crust is never soggy. Good stuff. I know pizza does not exactly fit into the health food category and sometimes when I eat it I get to feeling a little bit guilty. That being said, I will admit that this pizza is worth it. read more

Went by here because a friend recommended the pizza. If I was to rate the actual restaurant itself, I'd probably rate it at a 1.5. The last time I was there, nothing was clean, there were crusts on the floor, chairs strewn around, tables were not cleaned. Overall, pretty gross. And the salad bar did not look that good.... If I were to rate the parking lot, I'd rate it as a 1.5 as well, with little to no parking at times. I've been lucky most of the time I'm there, but it's a very small parking lot despite having 3-4 restaurants in the center. As for the food, I'd probably rate then at around a 4. They always put on a lot of toppings, the pizza is always piping hot, and it's a pretty good size. My bf and I normally get pepperoni and jalapenos on a large pizza, with the total price coming out to around $15. So, the price isn't too bad in terms of how much they put on the pizza, but it's still a bit more than if we were to order from Papa John's or a chain pizza place. A note on the toppings: jalapenos are pretty fresh. But this also means that when you ask for jalapenos, you will get a huge amount of them on the pizza. Bf and I had indigestion for 3 days straight because we actually ate the pizza with the full amount of jalapenos on there...which was apparently way too much for our bodies to take. =( So we normally order easy on jalapenos. We're getting old, apparently, to not be able to handle our spices any more =((( The food is good, but I'd take it to go and not eat in. read more

Pizzamania is amazing! Tons of cheese on the pizza, the right amount of sauce and man, they seem to enjoy loading their pizzas with toppings. If there's any place where it's worth getting extra toppings on a pizza, it is here. I've never had issues with any form of service here, and the pizza is the best I've ever had. My only suggestion is to people who have an issue with too much cheese on pizza would be to ask for light cheese since they put so much normally. read more

The decor of the place was meh, looked okay to hang with friends in.. but who cares! Pizza came out, was handed to me by the chef himself (pretty nice), it smelled and looked promising! And it was... If I was only rating the pizza I'd give it 4 stars. The staff takes it down a notch. The manager would do well to hire a real waitress because the guys making the pies have no people skills at all. Also, I've worked in restaurants, and if someone comes in 5 minutes until close, you're staying until they are done. We went in one evening 45 minutes prior to close and were told we had to take the pizza to go because it was "close to closing". The pizza is my favorite type--lots of crust, lots of toppings. The toppings are crunchy as someone mentioned but I happen to like it that way. I also like the sauce. They can be a little skimpy on the sauce at times, but I think it depends on who makes it.
