As much as I have always loved and supported Pizzalina, I do feel like they dropping the ball a bit these days. Trying to eat less meat, we have always loved their wood-fired vegetable options. In the past, they had around 3 different vegetables available wood fired -- their new menu only has the brussels sprouts. Speaking of which, yes, as of at least maybe April 2026 their menu has changed and seems to be much smaller. It might have changed before, and might be in a continuous state of flux, it's hard to say. But I do miss those other wood fired veggie options. Next, they had the most delicious foccacia cheese bread on the menu awhile back. Sadly at least on our last visit the new menu replaced it with a "pizzalina-made seeded baguette, garlic parmesan butter, pecorino romano" that really wasn't all that great. Finally, as we've been trying to drink less these days, we had been thrilled that they started a "mocktails" menu on their chalk board. However, every time we try and order one they never have any of the ingredients available. That has probably happened about 5 times. It's like, come on guys. They did once manage to make me a non-alcoholic spritz that only after I drank it did they realize they had used their alcohol based liquor rather than the non-alcoholic stuff. They didn't offer a refund or anything or apologize and I was kind of like, really? I didn't necessarily want a refund but, also, what if I was someone that really couldn't drink alcohol? All of that being said, we do like the place and most of the food and the service is generally pretty good. I just wish they would bring back some of the items we miss and get the damn ingredients for the mocktails. On this visit we ordered the black olive pizza ( I don't recall the name) with vegan cheese, the Brussel sprouts appetizer, and the tricolor salad minus the cheese. We live in sun valley, we decided to try it because we had received a coupon for a free pizza.If we spent thirty dollars dining in, so we decided to try it today The service was mediocre.Mother's day wasn't even crowded.There are five other tables besides us We ordered a salad. Are you a local? Holy cow, try this place. Today I went up to San Anselmo to meet a beloved old friend for lunch. She was in town to visit her son and his family. Her son's suggestion of Pizzalina was perfect--haven't had pizza in ages. The atmosphere was a gorgeous, casual vibe. Our server, a handsome (sorry, I'm old and have no filters) brunette guy, helped us out, didn't rush us, and seemed intent on making us happy. As an app, we shared a Caesar salad. OMG, the BEST Caesar I've ever had. Great, clearly house-made dressing. Perfect-sized leaves. And OMG those croutons. I have never had better. SO good. Then the pizza. I have always quickly gone for the tomato-sauce based version--my imagination only stretches from Pepperoni to Combo. On a thin crust of course. But my friend took charge and ordered the Month's Special. I'm not sure what happened, but we got a thinnish-crust pizza with a mysterious glaze (light and lovely, not tomato), topped with exotic greens, special veggies, very special thin-sliced meats, and... thinly sliced potatoes! Yeah slightly shocking, but they balannced everything nicely. Chef's kiss. I love this place. If only I lived in San Anselmo. But let me tell you--it was fully worth the Saturday holiday traffic drive. Bonus: Seeing my beloved friend again. The perfect, delicious holiday experience. Give it to yourself any time. Great pizza choices for kids and adults. We got there around when it opened and sat outside since it was a nice day. It got hot quickly, but there were umbrellas for shade. It's located at the Red Hill shopping center, so afterwards the kids went to get ice cream nearby while the adults enjoyed some time without the kids. I haven't been to Pizzalina in awhile! I had seen on there internet a dish 3 meatballs with three pieces of pita bread. Well when I got home there were the meatballs with an extremely salty sauce. Good pizza, some of my favorite. I remember the first day they opened they were very busy, but very kind. For the wait, they gave us free pizza. I think the same spirit is kept today---they have very good customer service. I tend to sit outside; the wind and nature of the pizza make it tough to complete my proofs. My papers blow away, but that is my fault. Not the best-proof writing environment. However, watching the little epsilons run around outside does motivate me; it was here that I formalized my proof that for any positive integer N, any sufficiently large finite set of points in the plane in general position has a subset of N points that form the vertices of a convex polygon. read more

This might have been the strangest dining experience I've ever had. I came on at 4 pm on a Monday for a glass of wine and some olives. Guy at the register looked at me like I was some kind of alien life form when I entered; like a customer in a restaurant was out of place. I sat at the "bar area". He asked me what I wanted but provided no menu. I got that myself and then went about making a decision. He walked away to do other things while I was deciding, which is all fine, but seemed to forget about me after that. I finally caught his eye and let him know I was ready. He took my order but when he went to plug it into the register a woman that I guess was the manager (glasses, curly hair) came to tell him about specials or something. He listened to that rather than getting my order input and then forgot what wine I asked for. The movement was as though everything was occurring under water. The only folks I've seen move slower are at the DMV. I had to retrieve a napkin from another table. When the time came to ring me up, the manager came over to tell him something else and as she was talking to him, he just stood there with my card in his hand. The experience was totally bizarre. The other employees seemed to be keeping busy but these two just were dragging. The only positive was the size of the wine pour and the size of the serving of olives. I should add that I was the only person dining in at the time. I'm really just shocked at how horrible the experience was. read more

We had to wait for the waiter to come for our order. When it finally came, he forgot to add shrimp to one of the orders. The 2 pasta dishes were overcooked, dry, and tasteless. Ever since I visited Italy, I have been in search of a restaurant near me that could equal the pizza in Florence. I may have found it here. I ordered the margherita, as a baseline for comparison, and it was delicious--crispy crust, lovely sauce, just enough cheese, fresh basil, made in a real pizza oven. The ambiance is unpretentious, your basic local pizza joint, but the food was a cut above. It's a little pricey, but worth it. The service was wonderful. Also worth mentioning is the Caesar salad. They make the dressing in house, and it's exceptional. I sometimes I only order salad just to balance out the carbs and cheese, but this was worth ordering. Both my companion and I noticed immediately how tasty it was. For dessert, I ordered tiramisu, again, as a baseline for comparison to the mind blowing tiramisu I had in Italy, and while it fell slightly short, it was still yummy. My companion had the butterscotch pudding, which was fantastic. The other dessert they feature, chocolate pudding cake, will have to wait for next time. Excellent place! Good thing we got there early on a Friday evening for dinner because it was packed by 6 PM! The wait staff were efficient, professional, kind and personable. The Brussels sprouts were oven roasted in their pizza oven and oh so delicious with the fresh squeezed lemon juice spritzed on top. The pizza was thin crust that was perfectly charred.
