Warning! The Pizzahacker that we all loved has been taken over by real hacks! This was my favorite local pizzeria, and my last two visits have made me angry, sad and disheartened. New ownership? I don't know, but what I do know is that there now an army of incompetents running the show. I have never seen so many do so little and take so long doing it. While they used to excel at producing brilliantly executed and simply delicious pies, the new crew doesn't know how to use the oven, and take absolutely no interest in the burnt and odious results. Five folks wandering aimlessly around the kitchen who seem only interested in battling over the music playlist, talking on their phones, and being sexually abusive to the female staff. I am the most forgiving person when it comes to health code infractions in restaurants, I was disgusted and frightened by the filth of the space and the crew. One person had completely out of control hair on their head and face and some of that hair featured prominently on my margharita. The oven was loaded with soot which led to all the pies coming out with completely blackened bottoms, and even when the pizzas were not burned on top, the aroma of incinerated dough permeated the pie. Smoke was actually billowing out of the ovens, while the staff seemed to be greatly amused by the pizza makers inability to adequately clean the deck and produce pies that were at the least edible. After waiting 45 minutes for my two pizzas, and after multiple pleadings with the counter person, one pie was a)hirsute and b) blackened on the bottom, the second pie was burned top and bottom. The pizza "chef" was miffed that I did not want the completely burned pie, and it was an ordeal to have them keep that pie and take it off my check. I should note, that while I was waiting the 45 minutes, the crew of 5 only managed to produce 6 pies, 2 of which, ultimately were mine. Ultimately, after much pleading for them to do the right thing, the charge for the pizzas was reversed, and I was told to never come back again. I didn't need to be told.....The crowd has changed, while it used to be a comfortable place for families, at 7pm on a Sunday night the music was cranked up so only the new techsters could find it tolerable. A must order is the marg. The ingredients are top notch. Love the music this place is dishing out. This was my first pizza hacker experience. We went on a Sunday and it was chill. No fuss. I could imagine things might be different on a Saturday night. Beers were delicious and the service were great. Some dude did fall off his seat while we were there. No backs, so caution. This pizza was SOOOOO good! Was not feeling pizza when suggested, but I took one for the team and didn't even complain. Thank heaven I kept my mouth shut. Nothin but pizza and 2 salads and it didn't even matter. The Pinot noir was actually good from the plastic carafe and every single person that came to our table was greater than the last. Meaning of course that the entire staff was awesome!!! I wish they had a spot in Los Angeles cause I am sold. This is my fave neopolitan pizza place in sf. Crust is stupid amaze balls, great texture/crunch, salt crust is phenomenal. Ordered a margherita, rocket man and a yo vinny to go, it would've been better eaten there but it was still awesome 15 minutes later. Can't go wrong with any of the choices, but the margherita really stands out. So simple, yet tastes so complex...I was in love. Best pizza I've had so far in San Francisco! The Margherita pizza was everything I hoped for and more. The smoked salt was a superb and tasty touch. The Crust was thin without being too crackery, and it was actually a bit soft to my liking. The sauce was just a little sweet and light... And it still tasted great the next day! Quirky location, casual setting so good to go with friends or a date, I went with my boyfriend and we shared the Rocket Man. I love pizza have been to alot of the top locations in Sf and this pizza is really different high quality pizza, I'm just losing a star because we added Italian Sausage for an extra 4$ I think or more and it did not play a significant part of the pizza. I would have loved a little bit more sausage when you pay a decent bit for it as an extra topping! Will give it another shot and go for something else! Came here on a Saturday at 5 pm just as they were opening up. Ordered the Farm girl Margarita for take out. Took me 15 minutes to get home and took my first bite. Wow. So much flavor. Holy smokes, in a region with a great variety of excellent pizza, PizzaHacker is still near the top. I didn't even eat the pizza fresh, I had to heat it up after sitting around for a couple hours at home. And it was still incredible. The crust is perfect. Crunch to chew to char ratio is perfect. It's honestly stupid how good this pizza is. I've been following the adventures of pizza hacker since he started when I was in LA. He was just a mythical legend to me. I always said if I went up to SF I would visit him. Fast forward five years, I moved to SF and I find out he's got his own brick and mortar location!! I've been here three times now and each time I've had a fantastic pie. I don't consider myself a pizza connoisseur by any means but I'd like to say I've eaten a fair amount of pizza (read: a disgusting amount). I've done my pizza tour of SF multiple times: Little star (best deep dish, specifically on Valencia. Yes....I ate at the divisadero and the marina location too...) Hands down my favourite pizza place in the northern hemisphere. Already was a fan of the popup at Vinyl every thursday, now I'm delighted to see its possible to get my pizza hookup also throughout the weekend. The sourdough crust of the pizza's are crunchy but not to the point it becomes dry. The topics are of amazing quality and perfectly balanced. You won't find your classic hawaii or salami pizza in here, I'd say the combination of toppings is more experimental with new innovative flavours. Came here for something new on a Sunday night. The pizza was better than I thought. Nice crust, different flavors from a traditional pizza but the customer service was pretty crappy. The owner took our plates and asked how the food was. I told him it was pretty tasty, and gave me one of those "you don't know shit" kind of looks.
