I can't say we were fans of the two margarita pizzas we ordered - they both came out really quick and undercooked (the crust was still doughy). We didn't complain - we just didn't eat the crust. Pizza Riva has some seriously good pizza. Thin-crust Italian-style with a crisp crust and toppings bursting with flavor. They have two locations: here and at summer stage (summer only), but the quality is outstanding at both. They have vegetarian pizzas, those for the carnivores out there, white pizza (no tomato sauce) and even a few calzones. Their pizza menu is pages long and the hardest part about ordering is having to choose between so many good options. The decor is fun and modern, yet warm and their large wood-fired brick-oven greets you when you walk in. The service is good and they give you a small dish of fresh vegetables (carrot, pepper, cucumber) to nibble on while you peruse the menu. To drink they have some nice wine and beer. If you're a beer fanatic, try the Umbria dark. It's a 750ml bottle full of malty goodness. For wine, they have several reds and whites by the glass or bottle, but the glass pours are only available in 1/8 liter. Without a doubt one of my top three pizza places in Vienna. True, authentic Neapolitan style pizza! As good or I would even venture to say, better than Pizza Mari' in the 2nd Bezirk. Everything is imported from Napoli - from the pizzaiolo (pizza chef) to tomatoes, mozzarella and other ingredients. The pizza dough is exquisite - not too soft and not too chewy. Just perfect. Other ingredients on the pizza are fresh and there is just the right amount of it. The pizzas are baked in a wood burning oven at extremely high temperatures and your pizza will be done in 90 seconds! Pizza Riva is also a true pizza restaurant. They don't mess around with pastas and large menus where all dishes taste alike. Here, every pizza has it's own distinct flavor and every bite is better than the previous one. Vienna has a lot of pizza joints all over the place, but this one is the real deal. I doubt that you will get a better pizza in town than Pizza Riva (and I've been to dozens of Italian restaurants in Vienna). Value for money is great - Riva is less expensive than most of the cardboard pizza places in town. The service is good and friendly. Make sure you have a reservation on weekends. read more

The pizza here is fantastic. I have struggled to find a great place for a great pizza for a good price in Vienna for over 2 years. The pizza is better than vapiano as they have a wood oven and apparently a chef from Naples. The dough is crispy and floury and delicious and the pizza, as far as I know, looks authentic and tastes amazing. Prices are fair too (€8-12) The only downside was the complimentary (we think it was complimentary) chopped raw vegetables and oil which looked a few days old so we chose not to eat them. I really liked this place. The decor is chic, the atmosphere is nice, the staff are friendly and the food is really good. We went for pizzas because they have a proper stonebake oven to cook them. A really good choice. I'd say the prices are average for pizzas in Vienna although the wine was a little on the expensive side. It is Italian wine though. The Chianti was really good! Definitely worth trying this place...good for groups, families with children (children's menu) or couples! read more

I have been to Pizza Riva twice since living here in Vienna. The first time we ate right when the place opened (around 5:30 pm) and the pizza was alright. The sauce lacked flavor. Last week we ate around 8:00 pm and the pizza was amazing! I think maybe the sauce had more time to develop flavor? I am not too sure but this place definitely redeemed itself! The atmosphere is great and I love the HUGE pizza oven. The service is good and the pizza comes out quicker than I would imagine which is a pleasant surprise. The best part about Pizzeria Riva is that they welcome bigger parties, so my friends and I can reserve a table for 10 without an issue. They take cash and credit cards. Very nice, authentic pizza! We have been there on the Mother's Day (08.05.2016) - a big group (6 adults, 2 teenagers and 5 kids). The restaurant is spacious with these big windows that gives you enough light and more than needed view of the street. Pizza I liked very, very much! I have been in another Pizza house with certificate Vera Pizza Napoletana, in San Donna di Piave and I can say pizzas taste same. Which is quite difficult to achieve, as Vienna is not Italy and everything should be brought from Italy. But they did it! Honestly, one of the families we have been together did not like the pizzas (it is interesting that both the adults and the children didn't) but I think they just have used to different pizza style. Service is nice. Prices reasonable. Place is very clean and there is a nice court on the street. read more

This is definitely my fave pizza in the city, and with the atmosphere of summerstage, it just doesn't get much better. I cannot remember the name of the one I like the best, but it's the second from the bottom and it starts with 'M'. It has saussage, peppers, parm.. it's absolutely delish!. I was probably 1 out of 100 customers to get undercooked pizza. The white sauce - tasted like cream - was basically some liquid in the middle of the pizza making it soggy. The ham was barely warm and there were pieces of unmelted mozzarella on it. The crust was soft and raw inside. This unfortunately is a big no for me and will prevent me from coming back. The pizza was good but somewhat underdone in my view. I had a four ingredient pizza with artichoke. The flavor was good, but, again, I found it somewhat underdone. The 'crust' was not crusty in the slightest. In fact it was boarder line uncooked. Too bad because the ingredient combination was pretty good. This was our most disappointing meal since traveling via Krakow and Prague. The waiter was bored and when asked about the wine selection responded with"I don't know the wines". No attempt to get someone who did. We ordered Quattro Stagiano pizza and Insalata Mista. The pizza oddly came with the selected toppings separated into sections rather than scattered equally across the pizza?!? This made for surgical cutting to share four tastes. The pizza was brick oven baked but the thin crust was soggy. The salad was simply lettuce and a few tomatoes. The waiter when asked for the bill just told us the total and gave us the Visa machine. We had to ask to see our receipt. We are here for three more days and even though this restaurant is right outside our hotel door we will not go there again! read more
