The buffet was hopping during the lunchtime rush! The staff was kinda. The tables were efficiently bussed. The buffet options were constantly replenished. I really enjoyed the sesame chicken. That was my first time seeing it at a Pizza Ranch buffet. The caramel apple pecan dessert pizza was tasty! I like that they do seasonal dessert pizzas. I always request a Buffalo chicken pizza upon my arrival at the buffet. The worker brought me the fresh pie to my table to grab a few slices! Then I went back to the buffet to grab more of their best pizza! The chocolate chip cookie was great. I do miss their buffet have butterscotch pudding! read more

I didn't think I'd care for this place, as I am pretty picky with my pizza. As expected, I didn't care for the pizza much. That's okay, because the piping-hot fried chicken more than made up for it while allowing my two pizzaholic diners to pig out on pizza to their hearts' content. I tried several pizza options as well as side dishes at the chicken buffet bar, but the offerings were fairly mediocre, which was understandable given it is after all a pizza buffet setup so quantity was definitely more name of the game than quality. Even so, pizzas on the menu that currently aren't at the bar could be ordered and made fresh, with slices being delivered to the table and the rest added to the pizza bar rotation - an awesome service and a pizza lover's dream, I'm sure. That chicken, though. Succulent, moist. Crackling-crisp skin that's not overwhelmingly salty. My plates started coming back loaded with nothing but bird, and I was completely happy about it. To end the finger-licking meal, I moseyed on over to the bar of dessert pizzas topped with apple, chocolate, blueberry, and plain icing. Every one of them looked quite appetizing. I'm a chocoholic and was alerted to fact that the chocolate pizza was unusual, so I of course went with chocolate. It was crisp, tender, and delectable enough that I considered getting thirds of that alone. I may have followed through on that thought. The pizza may not be spectacular, but it's a lovely casual space that allows pizza lovers to go to town and offers delectable freshly-fried chicken for those who need a pizza break, so we'll definitely be back soon knowing my two carbaholic tinkerbugs. Look, it's a pizza buffet. What are you expecting. What I was not expecting is some damned good fried chicken. I've been to this area 4 times in the last 6 months and I stopped by each time. The pizza is good enough but keep in mind that I don't think there is such thing as bad pizza. They will cook a special order pizza if you like. The salad bar is okay. The fried chicken is delicious! Pizza Ranch is a buffet chain where I eat from time to time and the pizza isn't the reason. They gave fantastic chicken, The buffet area has three islands of food. One is a salad bar, one is all pizza, and the third is fried chicken and traditional dinner sides. The pizza is fine but it's nothing that you'll be talking about ten minutes later. It's good buffet filler and who can say no to pizza? They do have a wide variety and some of them are quite interesting. You can also request a pizza and they will make it fairly quickly. I've even seen them take the requested pizza out to your table so you can grab a couple slices before they put it on the buffet. I typically grab two slices of thin crust garlic cheese and head for the chicken. The chicken is excellent, The meat is tender and juicy with just the right amount of batter. I'm a dark meat guy, so I have to be watching for when they bring out a new batch, People cruise it like sharks for drumsticks, They disappear fast. I leave enough room on my plate for mashed potatoes and gravy. The soup is good too. I love their chicken tortilla when they have it. The staff is friendly. The price is reasonable and includes your drink. There's quite a bit of seating but they fill up fast. There's additional seating upstairs in the loft. So I walked in pizza Ranch to the cashier, thinking the food,cups,are going to be cheap.But the cups were $9.00!In my little head I said to my self"I would go to the dollar tree store to BUY cups for $1.00".THAT was to late.We paid,we got to pick a table,then we got cups.I went to the fountain drink machine to get some water,when I press the button for the water to come out to my cup I felt like I was in a HURRICANE the water came out like if it was SUPER DUPER mad at ME.So in my TINY head I said"CHILL WATER!CALM DOWNN!I DID'NT DO Anything TO YOU!".At the same time I really wanted to do AMSR with the water but I felt like that would not be a GOOD AMSR. read more

im not very impressed with owatonna store they have a mexican manager that is not very profesional with custamers and has been seen miss treating employees .seems that she picks favorites clear sign of dicrimation .the food is always good .the manager andrew is always running his butt off around the store . pizza ranch hires enyone .it seems .i will be going to waseca store unless owatonna improves .there is never enough pizzas on the buffet .owatonna needs good employees .and team work employees with a good clean aperiance at work that says alot.when there is a problem with a employee the problem should be looked into.instead of a unprofesial jumping .i wont go back until the store improves its image . read more

The chicken in this establishment is stupendous. Not only does the meat melt in your mouth, you get that crunch only true fried chicken enthusiast would love and recognise. The salad bar grabs hold of your eyes and heart as countless trips bring you back for more again and again like a new lover. The ice cream that flows true as the sun is bright! We have eaten here several times. Very good pizza and salad bar. Best fried chicken in town. If you haven't tried it, you should!

They have a great buffet variety and their pizza is ok. I always ask for the twice baked pizza which is a melt in your mouth handful if cheese and potatoes. They have a big store and plenty of seating. read more

After paying good money and the eve's are not cheap---the owners spy on people from an upstairs window to see if anyone is taking food or even taking a bite from someone's food. This to me is a disservice and rude---I will never go there again!!! read more

I take my kids here once a week because they love it, and everytime we go there is old pizza on the bar. Today was the topping on the cake there was no pizza at all on the bar and their icecream make was broke. There have been other thing too with this one. My 5 year old wanted a big cup one time and the manager made it seem like it was a big deal because we did not have to pay adult price for his buffet, and on the military discount app which shows places that give military discount. This place shows it does but they say they do not and I had to fight to get it. No more Pizza Ranch for us we will go to Godfather's Pizza from now on. read more

The moment we walked in with our party of 14 the manager was yelling at employees then us. Finally I asked her what the problem was she went on to complain about young employees. I thought ok maybe she is having bad day... nope she is just horrible human. She was visibly angry she had to open top floor for us. Next I brought 3 kids down to get food. As I'm helping kids she says to another lady, your not upstairs are you? She said no the manager said good. I said excuse me what's wrong with the people upstairs? She tried to back track and lie that's not what she meant blah blah. As my grandson and I were walking away she called me an idiot!!! I calmly brought my grandson (the birthday boy) back up stairs set my crappy cold food down and went back to confront manager. The other employees were clearly horrified of managers behavior. They apologize the whole time we were there. We actually had to explain to young employees it was no ok for manager to call them names in front of customers. We were not the only people this manager was going after she was talking down to her own employees as well. It was shameful and I'm sure my grandkids could have ran that sh*t show much better and they are all under 12‍ To say the least this lady wrecked a 12 year olds birthday dinner. We do have video of her calling me idiot and whining like a child that lost her toy. I challenge corporate to pull video 6-3-21 6pm and take care of this mess wrecking your business !! read more

Our office ordered food for our staff at 11:40 for 15 people, and they were able to get it done really quick. I felt bad for calling so late and around lunch time knowing their lunch buffet is always busy. The lady on the phone was excellent and even explained the deal Of the day that made it cheaper for us! Food was... Okay. However the table near us reported undercooked chicken. I watched as he reported the chicken directly to the owner. The owner looked at the buffet, and walked away. Both owners looked at the chicken, as well as several employees. I watched as at least ten people grabbed chicken, including two children. The chicken was never taken away. We really like this place. They have a good variety of food available on their buffet and fair prices. They also will deliver. There's lots of seating, and they keep the pizza coming and even ask if you would like a special kind of pizza made up. Very accommodating. I think they have the best chicken in town! read more
